I attended Bay State College from 2003 to 2005. I am writing this from Ottawa, Canada, in 2025. At…read morethe time of my undergraduate journey, BSC was a small, friendly school. I remember good people like Yvens Armand Darilus, Wendy Stefania Posy, Ray Barnes, Sarminthia Viville, Matthew Marcus, Henry Anastation, Celestina Armando, Jim Ellis, Pam Grill, William Chan, Kevin Hunt and more. I was saddened to hear that BSC closed in 2023. In the early 2000s, BSC was fun and the Back Bay was a great place. Boston felt different back then too. A good city full of open minded people. Times have definitely changed.

Bay State College is a career oriented private college located in the heart of Back Bay. They are…read morelocated along Commonwealth Avenue between Dartmouth and Clarendon Streets. They offer a variety of Associates and Bachelors degrees ranging from Entertainment Management, Fashion, Business, Audio, Early Childhood Education, Nursing, Physical Therapy, and Criminal Justice. The school also offers continuing educating courses and night schooling to adults wishing to extend their current education. Pros: Small school with small classes. It's a very close knit and tight knit community. Dorming is available to students. Close to public transportation (Green Line: Arlington and Copley, Orange Line: Back Bay, MBTA/Amtrak: Back Bay). Cons: Technology needs a massive upgrade. Most of the school's academic campus is not wifi friendly. Not too many student activities or on-campus activities for students.

I am an alum of Laboure and in the midst of completing my BSN as well. I highly recommend Laboure…read more Laboure truly sets the foundation in healthcare, there curriculums are driven to succeed within this ever changing healthcare industry. Its a rigorous program, but nursing is not an easy profession. You need to dedicate yourself 110% regardless of what nursing school you attend. The professors were amazing and guided me through to be successful. If you do the work and if you are truly destined to fulfill your nursing goal you will succeed. There are challenges, but as a nurse you work through them. Nursing is a forever learning experience. Everyday I am challenged within this career and it keeps my mind continuously thinking. Laboure organizes and gives you the tools and strengths to get nursing students to pass the ever so challenging NCLEX exam. One thing is to never give up on your dream of becoming a nurse, if it was meant to be it is meant to be and Laboure can help you reach those goals! Ellice White, RN

RUN. DON'T WALK. So Laboure is on probation again due to low NCLEX pass rates. The problem is…read morethey're trying to prep us for ATI and not NCLEX. ATI does not resemble NCLEX at all (questions on ATI are vague and indirect) if they REALLY wanted to help us , they would assign us UWORLD and not ATI. Now aside from that, they are deliberately making exams for the last class (NUR 2025) harder and the professors for the last class are unstructured with their teaching methods. A decent amount of students in my current cohort are not passing and my suspicion is that it's due to poor wording of exam questions (they're trying to make them resemble ATI). They would rather us all have to retake the class and put more money in their pocket than to potentially further threaten their accreditation. This is still ineffective because their exam questions really don't resemble NCLEX now. I wouldn't want any one to be caught in the trap that is Laboure. Please matriculate credits at an institution dedicated to helping you advance your knowledge, skills and confidence as a rising nurse. Laboure is just worried about MONEY and the pathway to better first time NCLEX scores, just a matter of time that they realize they're their own traffic ! (Hopefully they'll be shut down before then).
