Paula Crows service was excellent. an Awsome job was done and Paula was Beautiful. the flower arrangement were perfect. Mary and her staff were very professional and made us feel comfortable in the days leading up to the funeral. Mary is rude and is in the wrong business! The insensitivity and coldness this lady displays is horrible. I took my business elsewhere.

I've waited months to write this because I wanted to calm down. Hasn't helped. I lost my sister in September and she was only 58. She died at 3 am on September 1(Labor Day). My family had always used McCullough because the McCullough family had the best reputation in town. Roger was a fantastic Funeral Director. He always made the family feel comfortable, so we always used them. . It was very sad when he passed away several years ago. Mary, who bought the business, is no Roger McColaugh. Very cold and condescending. They contacted us Monday morning about a meeting and I asked that we do it the next day because everyone had just gotten home and we're exhausted. We met on Tuesday and Mary insisted the service be held on Thursday, with only two days notice for family. I told her that would be extremely difficult to do and her response was." if you had met with us yesterday like we asked, you'd have an extra day to notify your family." I was furious about the rudeness and insensitive nature of her attitude. But we caved and did it anyway. The service went OK and most of the family was able to attend, although some couldn't because of the short notice. In fairness, the services went smoothly, and at a reasonable price. But Mary is in the wrong line of work. Her coldness and insensitivity did not sit well with me. And it did not sit well with my sister a year ago, when she managed our mother's funeral services. I feel compelled to share my deeply disappointing experience with abysmal customer service experience at McColaugh-Massie Funeral Home, specifically with Mary. Growing up in Xenia, there was a general understanding that the McColaugh name and Funeral home/services, were synonymous with impeccable customer service and care. It was easy for us to make the decision to have my grandmother's funeral there. I am writing this review with a heavy heart. I feel compelled to share my deeply disappointing experience with abysmal customer service experience at McColaugh-Massie Funeral Home specifically with Mary. First and foremost, the lack of empathy and sensitivity displayed by Mary was astonishing. From the moment we had our first phone call, to the moment we walked through the door, we were met with a cold and indifferent attitude. Mary seemed disinterested in our feelings and appeared to treat the whole event as a routine transaction rather than a deeply emotional moment for our family. I explained to Mary that this was a new experience and we didn't know what questions to ask or how to navigate the process in general. Mary's response was "well, you called me while I was attending another service" instead of just not taking the call, she continued to tell me that I was an interruption to her day, in a very condescending manner. Mary's organization and communication were shockingly poor. I felt like every interaction was a battle. Every question I asked was met with resistance and aggression. I'm sad. I lost a very special person. The customer service we experienced only exacerbated our grief and frustration. Tim Francisco, on the other hand, was an absolute delight to work with. He was caring and genuine in his delivery and responses. He was patient and overly accommodating. Thank you. In summary, our experience with McColaugh-Massie Funeral Home was deeply disappointing, and it added unnecessary stress and disappointment during a time when we needed support and understanding the most. The lack of empathy, communication and basic compassion has left us with an enduring negative impression. read more

We had my grandsons funeral here at McColaugh. The Staff was kind and caring. They took care of our needs, wishes and provided a beautiful service. Multiple people stated how nice it was. They are also very fair with their pricing. I would highly recommend their services. read more

My Father passed away a week ago. My stepmother decided that she wanted to go ahead and use this funeral home since she has done this in the past with her other family members. I have to say that I am 10 out of 10 disappointed with this funeral home. First off, Mary was the one that helped us. Mary was very nice at first and was trying to explain everything to us. My father's wishes were to be cremated. We explained to Mary that that Is what he wanted. Mary went right to the second most expensive package that they had. She never explained any of the other ones to us. We originally went with that package because we didn't know any better. My stepmother thought that the life insurance would cover the cost of the funeral, but unfortunately, it did not, so we had to pay out of pocket for the funeral. My sister and I went back up to the funeral home the next morning and explained the situation to Mary. We had to wait outside in the cold for a longer period of time because they kept the doors locked, which I found to be very weird, to begin with. I have never been to a funeral home where the doors were locked during the day. After being let in, my sister and I had to wait on Mary to come back downstairs. Mary looked at my sister, and I was telling us that the paper was already signed and that we were not able to make any changes to it because our stepmother was the one that was the next of kin. Well, I am sorry; the last time I checked, my sister and I were my father's daughters before our stepmother was his wife but whatever. For a woman that claims that she is Catholic, she sure didn't act like it. I have never dealt with someone as rude as her; this was a loved one of ours, and you have no sympathy whatsoever. Oh, and not to mention, if you have to pay for a funeral out of pocket, they will not allow you to make payments on it; you have to pay in full for everything before they even start the process of anything. They will also nickel and dime you. They will charge you for merely putting an obituary of your loved one on their website that you wrote. If I knew then what I know now, I would NOT have allowed them to perform anything for my family. Mary did call my stepmother and apologized for making her upset but never apologized for being rude to my sister and I. She did ask who my sister and I were as well. She was told that we were his daughters from a previous marriage. So do yourself a favor and never go to this place. If you want someone that doesn't care about your feelings, then by all means, but if you would like to have someone think about you and your loved ones and not just about the money......go somewhere else. read more
