Great Programs for young children My Son and his Wife signed up their eldest son Dylan (our Grandson) for Soccer at the McCleskey YMCA. I'm a bit late writing this since we went down in September but the experience is still alive. I give high marks to coaches who give of themselves and bring out the best in young children. On the day that we were there, the temperatures were approaching 100 F and they did not push the children beyond what they could do and were totally committed to insure that everyone was hydrated Their well being was first priority. That said, they did make sure that everyone was given specific instruction and that no child was favor over another and that all were treated equally. Coaches care and that is what matters. At the same time, the children recognize this and they gave their best as well despite the heat. Good balance That said, it's a nice facility and offers much more that just Soccer. Great staff, good facility and well run and managed.

I've been wondering about those green bars for so l... wait, what green bars.

Should I open the door to a McDonalds with a McMorekey or a McLesskey? You be the judge. One of my least favorite YMCA facilities. The girls are front desk are really friendly and really seem to like me - but one of them liked me a little too much and sat me down and took me through lots of questions and extensive forms, and even a phone call to my home gym to make sure I was really a member. It was Overkill and took about 15 minutes when I only had 90 minutes to work out. Nobody has ever taken more than 5 minutes to get me signed in (and usually it's more like 5 seconds). I did not appreciate it whatsoever. But aside from that there are plenty of issues with this gym. It's cramped. A lot of the machines they have aren't working very well and they're missing some of the main things that I need. And the cramped space in the stretching room is definitely uncomfortable cuz you're packed into a little box-room with very little AC and a bunch of other people. It's also an extremely long walk from the parking lot to the front door but there are worse things than that I suppose.

We have been coming to the YMCA for a couple of years for different reasons. We have really enjoyed this location. The place has a fantastic pool. The swim program is pretty great. The activities they hold for families and children are constant and entertaining. The facilities look great and taken care of. The summer camp options are many and they do a pretty good job in keeping everything organized and streamline (although it's not always perfect). The staff is usually pretty nice. They have the best Zumba teachers who give it all in their classes. It's worth it just for that. It really feels like an extended family, a real community there. My only suggestion to them is to be mindful of starting a class that has great feedback and audience and then suddenly and abruptly take it away to accomodate for space or something else. This seems to happen quite a bit in summer when camp is being held but then after camp they don't put the class back.

DO NOT PATRON THIS GYM!…read more I am an active duty service member stationed in Virginia Beach. I have been in town three times in the past three months due to a family member being diagnosed and passing from stage IV cancer. I stopped in the facility three times as I was member circa 2010-2012 and had a great experience with the facility during those years. Times have changed... I moved away from East Cobb in 2012. In December I stopped in and a staff member had me pay $20 for a day pass which was very reasonable. I stopped in the gym again in January for a day pass. This time the staff member said he had to have his boss discuss payment for a day or week. His boss never called. I came in back in town for a third time for a funeral. I stopped at the gym and asked if I could pay for 1 day because I was from out of town. The staff member told me I could just train. I offered again to pay at the end of the workout. I don't like freebies just for serving. I am happy to pay for goods and services. As I was warming up, the staff member approached me and asked me to leave because I was a prior member 12 years ago. Yes...I was and moved because I'm in the military. I told this staff member this information the 2nd time I visited in January. What made this worse is he stated I had a lack of integrity because of this...I offered to pay three times! I stated I was in town for a funeral to the staff member. I also told you I was a prior member the month before and liked the gym from when I was a member 11+ years ago! It is VILE and DISGUSTING for a staff member to accuse me of not having integrity after I explained the situation and offered to pay to use the facility MULTIPLE TIMES! TRAIN YOUR STAFF!!!! I did go to Crunch Fitness down the street and was able to pay $15 for a day pass where I was greeted by a kind and respectful staff member. Thank you Crunch Fitness! If you are a military member from out of town or just from out of town, avoid Just Fitness! They don't want your business! Your owner has my number. Call me if you want to discuss the situation.

I was offered a deal to pay upfront for the full year vs. month to month so I did that. After four and a half months, with absolutely no notice or email communication to members, the gym permanently closed and doors were locked when I arrived one day. After trying to find out what was going on, I was informed they moved memberships to Workout Anytime. However, when I chased down someone to talk to about getting the remainder of my money for July through December, I was told they are not doing refunds and Workout Anytime was equivalent. However, Workout Anytime does not offer classes, which is the main reason I joined Fitness1440, and their basic month to month is less than what I paid, as well as in another location not convenient for me. I would prefer the remainder of my funds to be able find a new reliable gym that offers classes. To abruptly close a gym, not send out a notice to members, force them to a smaller gym in another location that is NOT the equivalent of what they signed up for, and not offer a refund is unprofessional to say the least. Absolutely terrible way to conduct a business!

When I started I was worried about the money and whether or not I would be wasting my time. The coaches and the members are incredibly friendly and the workouts are tough, but the coaches are dedicated to ensuring that your technique is perfect before they push you. That sold me! I thought I was a decent athlete, but I quickly found out that some of my form was off for some exercises and it caused me pain. Once the coaches fixed my form I was able to continue with ZERO pain! I had a knee injury for about 6 weeks that prevented me from squatting and the coaches modified the workouts for me to accommodate my injury! I was able to continue to workout while my injury heeled. Amazing! I have seen incredible results going to this gym with the help of the coaches and experienced members. The MVMNT culture has motivated me to come to gym consistently because I have fun not because I feel obligated to come. I like how I am pushed to go faster to beat myself or to add a little weight because I don't realize I am stronger, but the coaches do. I have lost 15 pounds in 6 months. I am faster. I am stronger. I eat better. And I feel motivated to continue to lead a healthy lifestyle because of the MVMNT.
