I contacted McCarthy less than two weeks before we planned our backyard dinner party. Loretta was very responsive and helpful with all my questions. The entire process from inquiry, quote, deposit took about 48hrs! I was super impressed that we got this done last minute. Our backyard is on a hill and the setup crew had to bring the lighting cement weights up the hill but didn't it without a peep! Very impressed and the whole setup and event went off so smoothly! Worst place ever. Tried to rent out about 1000 worth of stuff for my wedding but since my wedding was on a Sunday all items needed to be picked up and the one item I really wanted I was told rather rudely that it was not allowed to be picked up and could only be delivered. read more

Me and my husband have been renting from Nolan's for the last 7 years for our Annual party. I called on Friday. August 4th and spoke with a woman who took all of my personal information. I wanted to rent the soft twist ice cream machine and purchase 2 half gallons of cream for a party on Aug 10 for ten children with disabilities. After not hearing from her I called on Tuesday August 8th to pay for the rental and spoke with a lady named Shannon who told me there was no reservations under my name at all. Upon taking all my information she then informed me that I was outside their delivery area and I would need to rent 2000.00 worth of rentals to get a delivery. I asked if we could pick it up and we were told NO. Nolan's was a great rental place in the past, McCarthy's are incompetent and rude. It was BEAUTIFUL and the size and cathedral style exceeded our expectations! The staff was eager to work with us in design, offered suggestions and were very understanding when plans changed and were gracious with us extending the time as we made payments. The most professional guys to work with for party rentals. They're great to work with from beginning to end. I've used them a few times for last minute rental needs like pipe and draping or tables. They're responsive via email and thorough. It's affordable too. They offer delivery for rentals $100 or more, so anything less you can pick up from their warehouse and they'll load/unload your car for you. They're my go-to and have lots of options and styles to choose from. Their warehouse lobby is also beautiful! A great representation for future wedding and party inspiration, plus photos of past wedding setups on the wall. So nice to see how they can take your event to the next level. read more

This was my first time renting a heavy duty tent. It was for a grad party, and the weekend of the graduation, so I knew it would be a busy weekend. I reserved it several months in advance and Heather guided me on what size would be good and how many chairs and tables would be useful. The prices were lower than the place right around the corner from me. As my party got closer and the RSVP's were coming in, I realized I wouldn't need as many tables as I ordered. I had them take of one table and 20 chairs the day before they delivered it with no problem. They credited a refund to my card. The guys that delivered it were very nice and professional. They made sure they had it placed just right and had it set up quickly. Pickup was just as efficient. I recommended them to at least 3 people at the party. One of them took a photo of the logo so they remembered it for her own party. I will definitely be calling them back in 3 years when my next kid graduates! read more

These guys are awesome! I had a last minute (literally, last minute--like 3 hours before my event) emergency and I needed to rent a tent quickly. It was for a pre-wedding event with 150 guests. I called them on Saturday morning at 10am (on Memorial Weekend), and they were there by 10:30 to set everything up. Without them, our party would have been a disaster. They did a great job working in the muggy heat too. Professional throughout everything. Items they didn't have sufficient quantities of they got more for me, and kept me updated on any new rental items they purchased later that they thought I might want. A few items had dings or chips, but nothing major and everything was clean and neatly cased for unpacking. Everything I ordered arrived on time, and it was picked up promptly the following day. LOVED McCarthy Tents and Events! We used them for rentals for our wedding reception in the tent at The Inn on the Lake. I priced them out against the other main rental company in Rochester, and McCarthy's prices and customer service far exceeded the competitor. I changed my mind a million times and No one made me feel like I was a bother. I needed a specific lantern color, "guava" and they were able to shop for it over the winter and early spring to find the exact color I wanted! We also rented plate chargers, and had McCarthy set up a seating area that was framed with fabric draped over it, for our guests to relax by the lake instead of having the only seating at the dinner tables. It looked perfect with our family wicker for our garden theme, And a special shout out for Jeff for his time, effort, expertise, and patience with me from my colors to my indecisiveness! read more

These guys are absolutely top notch. Jeff was incredibly responsive, thoughtful, and extremely detail oriented - perfect for an event planner bride!! He responded to all my emails with thoughtful suggestions and guidance, and spent at least 5 hours with me in person or on the phone near the end of the planning process to make sure everything was absolutely perfect. I was especially impressed with all of the detailed notes that Jeff included in the order itself so there were very few questions when everything was being installed. We also changed our mind on something the last minute due to weather, and Jeff was positive and receptive to the change and his guys did a magnificent job. The tent was better than I could have imagined. Their prices are fair to boot! They publish their entire catalog online, so you know exactly what you get, and the delivery fees to Ithaca were perfectly fair. As an event planner, I need to work with vendors that I trust to get the job done right, and Jeff made me feel 100% comfortable with everything - I could not recommend them ENOUGH! read more
