I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Selecman and Children's Dental Center. It's easier for…read moreme to make a blanket statements like THIS is what visiting the dentist should be like *or* Dr. Selecman is legit the best in the business. But. I want to break down some of my favorite parts about this place to give you a more concrete overview. 1. Kindness: Professionals who help children should care MORE (not less) about their jobs because children are among our most vulnerable. Dr. Selecman is among this type of human. He caters this dentistry experience to the little children. He talks to them as humans BUT through the lens that they are still children. There is a special type of kindness laced in his approach. I cannot tell you how special it is and how much I appreciate this. 2. Family: Coming here is an experience for the whole family. They care about everybody and make an effort to keep families together while the kids are having dental work. It goes a long way! 3. Fun: There is something fun in EVERY room for the kids. Whether it's coloring or movies in the reception area; movies, video games, or legos in the waiting areas; a TV screen for a movie on the ceiling while getting your teeth cleaned; or the token at the end to redeem for a toy of your child's choosing -- these things mean a lot because they go the extra mile to make a dental experience something happy for children. It means a lot to me when the dental hygienist is calm and patient and focuses on the patient. (I appreciate it so much when hygienists, dentists, doctors, hairstylists, etc. remember this.) I know they have a job to do but my child is more than a set of teeth. They have fears and apprehensions and worries and it's very unsettling to have someone digging around in your mouth with metal tools. For the most part, we have had good experiences at Children's Dental Center -- some better than others. I also really appreciate the women at the check-out desk. I have really noticed over time that they are habitually kind!! I'm grateful for every member of the staff who goes out of their way to make sure these kids feel safe and well taken care of.

The facility has adequate space, is clean, and has lots of kid friendly activities and seating. The had a tv are (with multiple televisions), coloring tables, and a gaming area. The Dentist and staff are friendly and professional. You can tell that they take pride in their work. Her check up was quick (an hour start to finish), yet filled with great information and services. At the end of the check up they give each child a token so they can get a cool little treat. Love it!

I am not happy with this because out of $6000, my son should have a case. I shared my concerns with the Receptionist Supervisor and she told me she would credit $2.50 to my son's account. Too cute! My son is 16 years old. Beware, If your child has all their teeth, you will not receive a retainer case. You will be instructed to shop around for a case. Due to the fact that they received $6000, I believe this should be PDGO's responsibility. She also offered me to pick up a small case that doesn't fix, which could damage the retainer. Thanks for nothing! It's time for my second son to get braces, and I will not use Pediatric Dental Group & Orthodontics!

Dr. Fuson said that he teeth looked good, very good to see spacing for the new teeth that will come later. Overall a great exam I was happy to hear that there a no dental concerns. I appreciate the sweet staff that played with my little guy and helping to make the visit to dentist a fun/comforting thing to do. Thank you! Lastly, upon exiting where you set your next appointment which will be my little guy's teeth cleaning in six months--a sweet dental assistant brought over a dental bag for my little guy which included (crest kids toothpaste, an oral B toothbrush, floss, PDG kids T-shirt, a McDonald's free item card) she also said here's a bag for mommy which included (an oral B toothbrush, dental pamphlets, an appointment card, crest toothpaste, oral B floss, a PDG tumbler and a thank you card) I recommend PDG Pediatric Dental Group & Orthodontics -there's several locations when you make your appointment tell them Jacqueline Wood referred you:))

This office does a great job with kids, today was especially good for my eldest. He has Down…read moresyndrome and is very distrusting of medical professionals in general. His hygienist today was Miss Chastity and if I could give more than 5 stars I would. She was exceptionally gentle, calm, and patient with my son. She had a great demeanor with him and kept an even steady tone while explaining to him what she would be doing and showing him the different implements she would be using. When he made it clear he had had enough of a particular event (flossing for instance) she said "okay we are all done with that, now let's do something else". And if she could come back to it later she would and if not, well that is better than further traumatizing him and making him that much more fearful of medical professionals. Miss Chastity was excellent!! Everyone else was great too but Miss Chastity deserves special recognition for how she treated my son today.

Let's get right to the point. Dental hygienist Chastity. She is amazing. My son has developmental…read moredelays and he is terrified of doctors, white coats, procedures...anything doctor related. Too much medical trauma in his life. He will not and I mean WILL NOT lie flat on his back for any medical professional. He has been held down too many times in his life. Well, he walked back with Miss Chastity, got right on the table, and got right onto his back for her. Um, what?! Then she was AMAZING with him, earning his trust, going slow and gentle, talking TO HIM rather than at him or sternly commanding him or talking to us parents as if he weren't there. That's the usual. But not Miss Chastity. She spoke to him kindly, softly, descriptively, treating him like a human and one with thoughts and feelings (which of course he is!) She took her time and made sure he felt safe, listened to, and respected. And he ended up receiving the most thorough dental cleaning he's had in his life. He allowed her to floss his teeth!!!! A first!!!! (I will also add that all of this follows a not-great visit for him last time with a hygienist who was much less patient). All in all, this place is really good with kids. But I'll be honest, this 5-star review is all about Chastity. I hope we have her again in future visits!! And Chastity, if you ever read this - thank you. You have no idea how happy you made two parents who go into these appointments with dread knowing how traumatizing they are for our son.

Normally, I would give our other visits 5 stars for overall experience, but my experience was different & not good today. When my child was called to the back by Julia the dental assistant my kid started walking to the back and I grabbed my things to go with him and was basically told by the dental assistant Julia that I had to wait in the waiting area for him, so I assumed that she was going to do a quick exray and bring him back out front, which by the way had never happened before; I waited & waited and after so long, I explained to the lady at the front desk and she invited me to go on back. When I got back there, I noticed that my son had gas on and they had already began working on him. I have a huge problem with this!!!! As my son is already super apprehensive about being at a dental office as am I! I should have been allowed to go back with him from start to finish! I explained my concern with Julia because she was the one that prevented me from going back with my son in the 1st place and the dentist was out of the room. Julia seemed unconcerned about my concern. So, when the dentist came in, after greeting him; I explained everything to him....expressing my disdain and he seemed to think that there was a "misunderstanding". In my opinion, there was NO misunderstanding! I was not granted access to accompany my son, and that was unacceptable and should never happen with a parent or whomever brings the child/children to the office! I am not sure why this happened, but I just wanted to share my experience & I pray that it never happens again to anyone else.
