Course was designed in the '70s, and most of the buildings and Clubhouse are from that decade. Course gets a lot of usage probably because of it accessibility it's right on the edge of Salisbury. Also has quite a varied amount of golfers. I mean, the young guns come here from high school, the after work get-together guys, walkers, fitness golfers, and just below average and practice golfers. Can get very crowded even during the week. Weekends are totally ludicrous. This can get rough because the holes are so close that they make for a long nine-hole or eighteen outing. Blue and white tees are very close. I used to recommend the blue over the white because of less usage. I think that ship is sailed now. The white tees have less usage. Good greens and always a good pro-shop friendly staff in the shop. Always has a steady pace of people here, especially when the weather is good. It's a good tip if it's cloudy and not raining, but it looks like rain. These are pretty fair weather golfers here. So if you don't mind a little moisture, that's when to come here when the weather is not so perfect. Has a group of regulars that have a mini tournament every morning. Usually, they tee off by 10:30 a.m. Unfortunately, a lot of foursomes tend to come here and can make for a rough day if they don't let you pass through. Sometimes, you may have to golf around and come back to holes. To avoid them. I have seen them sometimes in the clubhouse settling up their score. I think they play anywhere from$1 to $5 a hole the way they go at it. You would think it was the Masters. They usually get gone by the hottest time of the day which 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. I believe this course is hard to play late because they want the golf carts in by 7:30 p.m. However if you start at 4:00 it's pretty easy to finish if you go at a steady pace 18. Friday's is their busiest day during the week of the summer. That changes a little when school starts back. I definitely know it's easy to do nine in about an hour and 35 minutes. Will definitely need at least 2 hours to do 18 holes of golf. A good, no frills golf course.

I'm not sure how but between using the restroom and putting my clubs in the car it went missing. The next day I went to play and noticed it was gone. Long story short 5 days later I stopped by Carolina Golf Mart and it was in the shop for sale. I inquired about the driver. After describing the color of shaft tape I had installed...the owner Bob knew it was indeed my missing driver. I offered to purchase it back and he wouldn't allow me. He took the sale label off and gave it to me missing out on a $599 sale. I can't say enough great things about this establishment and Bob!!!!!!!! The owner, Robert, helped me right way when I arrived early this morning. He showed me my choices of grips ( alot of choices), and gave me his professional recommendation, which turned out to be AMAZINGLY perfect! He informed me that he was able to take care of me right away while I waited, so I went out to the practice area to hit a bucket of balls. Once I came back inside, about 45 minutes later, my clubs were READY! I had saved some balls, so I could "test em out" right way. I honestly have NEVER hit these 3 clubs as well as I did with the new grips. They REALLY make such a BIG difference. The price was quite reasonable, and I am 100% satisfied. Thank you so MUCH, Robert! For some reason, my review says that I am from Tempe, AZ. I am from, and live proudly right here, near Salisbury, NC

When I played, we had had an unseasonable amount of rain lately, and it was pretty soppy out there. Cart path only, and I think many un-intentional hazards around. Will definitely try it again based on my experience. This was one of those days that even though it was winter, and there was quite a bit of rain lately, a lot of people were trying to play, as it was the first golfable day in awhile. Because of this, the first tee was backed up, but was happy with the pace of play after that. This course is pretty old, original construction in the 1930s, so it is not long by today's standards. It is however, technical. Smart golfers here will opt to NOT use driver on many of the holes, as shot placement is much more important than distance. There are eagle opportunities here for big hitters that also have control (i.e. the 1% of golfers) There is a lot of slope. In some cases, being short on your approach can result in your ball rolling back 30 yards or more. Some of the greens as well are very challenging, but even in the winter, pretty well kept. Primary defenses here are the slope, the greens, and the placement of some bunkers. There is even a par 3 where you're going to have a hard time choosing a club, because the green is so far below the teebox. Overall, this course was a great value, and I would certainly come back and play again. I'll update my review when I do, hopefully the conditions will be better!

Doug Spencer spent some time first focusing on those things/issues that were unique to her and her body measurements. He quickly figured out how she's wired and adapted his instruction to fit her learning style. The results are profound. Her confidence has increased, her overall fitness has improved, and the quality of her play is very different now. Her yardages have increased around 20% across the board and she couldn't be happier with what she's accomplished. One word of caution if you're a parent seeking this level of instruction: Your golfer has to do the work to make it work. The drills and swing adjustments that will be assigned may not always make sense at the time, but in the long run, it will all fall into place. You have to trust in the process and let it play out.

This was the first time for the others but they have all played other Stranz courses, like Tobacco Road, True Bill & Caledonia. Like any other course, you'll experience some challenges your first time around and after that, you will play some holes completely different. This is rural Carolina golf in Randolph County and it feels like it. The word is of all the Stranz courses, this was his favorite and it's easy to see why. It's so plush and green, the natural landscape is scattered with boulders that are designed to create exceptional views. I especially like there are 5, yes FIVE Par 3's, all reasonable short and accessible. The Waterfall hole #15 is a work of golf art, just spectacular. It was a great experience from the beginning. Ron, the starter and car attendant helped us with our bags and was very friendly and professional. Jack & Keith in the clubhouse got us checked in quickly and directed us back to Ron to give us the low down on current course conditions, pace of play, cart operation etc. They are EV's with GPS included.
