I am writing this review based on my recent experience with Del Angel Funeral Home in Weslaco…read morefollowing the loss of a loved one. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing, particularly regarding communication and attention to detail. The lack of communication was, by far, the most concerning issue. There often appeared to be a lack of coordination and frequently felt that no one had a clear understanding of what was happening. My representative , Annika, failed to post my mother's obituary on funeral home's website and omitted my father's name from her obituary. Although there were several opportunities for me to review the obituary pamphlet before it was finalized, I was not shown it until the day of the viewing, when it was too late to correct the error. For a funeral home, where families are already coping with the emotional difficulty of losing a loved one, this level of disorganization and poor communication was incredibly frustrating and unacceptable. Attention to detail should be the priority during such an important and sensitive time. There was also an incident in which someone fell at the facility in the evening and had to be transported to the hospital. I was shocked to learn that management was unaware that the incident had occurred. Overall, my experience left me deeply disappointed. Families entrust funeral homes with some of the most difficult and emotional moments of their lives. Clear communication, organization, attention to detail, and compassion should be fundamental to that responsibility. Unfortunately, those qualities were lacking in my experience.

My mother was buried by this funeral home back on April 4, 2025 and I paid in full every single…read morething that was needed and to this day, 7 months later, November 1, 2025 she still has no gravestone. I kept checking with Chely and in June she told me that the company was taking too long, and she was ordering from another company which was a lie because she had never ordered it according to another counselor by the name of Olga. On September 8, Miss Olga was the only person that helped me and after I showed her pictures of the horrible condition my mother's gravesite was she assured me she would have the gravesite leveled off because I was having to take my own soil to build up where the soil was sinking. She sent me a picture that the gravesite had been leveled and placed a temporary marker 5 months later. Two weeks later I asked about the gravestone again and she indicated that the company they order from was not sending gravestones until December. I asked her to check with the director for the cemetery to get back to me, but its been close to a month and they never have. I have decided to have the media help me and seek legal counsel. This place is horrible, and worst of all the lies I have been told all this time is so hurtful and I can never close this chapter due to the injustice this horrible place has caused my family.

If I could leave zero stars I 100% would. We were told our Dad's remains wound be ready on a Friday…read moreto ship so we would have them in our home state for the funeral, they were not. We ended up coming to Texas to sort out affairs and when we called on a Monday we were told his remains would be ready that day to pick up and we would get a phone call to pick him up, we did not. We called a total of 6 times, were told the funeral director would call us twice (he never did) and on the final phone call for Monday were told the "office person" would pick him up and meet us in Edinburg. We agreed on 10:30 am after we pushed for a set time. We arrived on time, and the "office person" texted (not called) my sister and said we could pick him up at the Donna location and that she was JUST leaving to get him from the crematorium. We arrived at the Donna location 40 minutes later and she is not here with our Dad, the only person here has a language barrier so we cannot ask him for help. We are leaving in 3 hours and just want to bring our Dad home. We have had issue after issue with this funeral home and strongly discourage anyone from using them. We have spoken with the Minnesota funeral home that transferred our Dad's prepaid services to Vaughn's and let them know how horrific this experience has been.

I do not recommend going to Vaughan's establishment. I recently lost my loved one and all pre…read morefuneral arrangements were made years in advance. From the moment of picking up my deceased loved one there was no professionalism was shown. The gentleman was on the phone while putting her body onto the gurney. Then at the funeral home, none of the calls to policies were made in advance. Paperwork was a mess. Phone calls were answered during our process.. I am very un-happy with the service. I would've given zero stars for rating, however didn't allow.
