We come to this location all the time for a good Time a relaxing time great people excellent service phenomenal food. We recently came to our second breakfast with Santa and I wanted to shout out to everyone. Ok,, fine,, I'll do a review of the bar. Only because my fiance likes to come here. To grab a few drinks while killing time. YES I AM A Lincoln Parker and idgaf. No, it's not a posh spot. And no it's not the snooty joint. So do not, I repeat, Do NOT assume that this spot is gonna transform into a trendy speak easy or a hipster joint. It's your neighborhood bar,,, PERIOD. There's been a few updates, like the blue lights and the outside has that whole modern thing going on. The bathroom has been redone as well. I definitely applaud the waterless urinals. I love it when a bar is all about saving trees. Beer is beer,,, bar food is bar food,, but the service is very good. Never have I ever had a bad experience. I've been going here for the last 10 years for one thing, fish and chips! This bar has the best fish and chips in all of downriver. I'd love to see someone challenge this. Suggestions are welcome. I still am skeptical I'd find something better. The homemade tartar sauce is an amazing compliment to the fish. I make of point of coming at least once during lent. The service has always been great. The atmosphere is fun and friendly. I've gone here with friends, with my Grandma, and with my parents. All ages (over 21) appear to be welcome. read more

Stopped in for a viewing party for the show "Street Outlaws" as a local man was featured on last night's episode. It was my first time in the bar, but won't be my last. They were very busy when I got there, but I was still served in a timely manner. I don't drink alcohol, but that didn't stop the waitress from being a doting worker and checking on me several times while I ate and refilling my drink. I had a Monte Cristo sandwhich, and had ordered a side of homemade chips, but instead got fries and slaw like it said on the menu. It wasn't enough to make me complain as I was on the fence over which I wanted anyway. I never told the waitress of the error, it's a bit loud so she likely didn't hear me. The waitress was very friendly and quick with everything else. The sandwich was amazing, one of the best Monte Cristo's I've ever had. Not something you expect to find at a bar. The bar, like many, was a bit cramped, but I'm not one to complain much about that. I sat in the back corner during my meal and wandered around during the show. Did the 8 Trax Music Trivia championship here. Final round, you get a representative from each team for a lightening round of naming songs quickly. I am frequently one of three ppl who do this for our team. None of them are our team captain btw. During the final round, being the only one of the 3 in attendance, I joined the rest on stage. They counted, had one extra, and I noticed my team captain up there with us. She did that incredulous yet disingenuous shocked "why are you here" thing then, with the assistance of the entire founder and show runner of the trivia game, engaged in a song to humiliate and shame me for *checks notes* doing exactly what I and our team wanted me to. This game also does that song to people who get songs wrong during the final round. I never got one wrong before but also never participated in singing that because I think it's pretty messed up to treat people that way who are trying to play a game. I wouldn't go to any place that engages in public humiliation of anybody. read more

My husband and I had a rare occasion where we didn't have the kids with us for dinner, so we stopped in. Lasagna soup was on special. It was not as good as the lasagna soup I make, but still a good soup. We both liked it very much. $2 Long Islands made my husband super happy, and he said it tasted really good. I had a Monte Carlo and I LOVED it. I could have eaten two of those! My husband had a steak sandwich and fries and everything tasted very good. The waitress was a total sweetie and went out of her way to keep my drink full and our table happy. The overall atmosphere in the place is not really my thing -- It's a bar, so there's a bunch of loud obnoxious people in there and it's loud, and they play alternative butt rock from the 90s and 00s. However, I was okay with it. The people weren't being belligerent, the music was actually refreshing to hear, and the seating area was clean and many families were eating there. One night after a trip to the Oak in Wyandotte, my buddy suggested we go somewhere different for a change of scenery. So we drove down Fort St and ended up at McCaffery's Bar. McCaffery's isn't anything really over-the-top, it's kinda chill and you can go in, hang out, relax, etc and have a few drinks. The night I was there they had buckets of beer for $12 and they apparently have free pop corn all the time, so all-in-all this place gets an "A-OK" my book. read more

Went here to eat lunch waitress Andrea was unfriendly and rude told us are kids had no manners and was talking about us with other customers in the bar now you tell me who doesn't have manners? The guy bartender said the noise level of the kids was loud lol hello were at the bar you deal with drunk people acting worse and louder then kids!! $2.00 long islands tasted like pop! And food was cold this bar is not kid friendly at all if you have kids do not take them in here or else the bartender and waitress will be rude! Downriver sleazy faux-Irish bar. There's a bunch of old regulars probably playing Kid Rock tunes, served by young attractive waitresses. It's what you'd expect, basically. The beer selection is boring but reasonably priced. Upside is the food - cheap and plentiful, and pretty good! Just go early to avoid whatever crowd they may attract. If you're grossed out, go on over to Hop Sheing and eat some delicious noodles. read more

I recently moved to the neighborhood and decided to try this for the first time. On the building it say "$2 long islands every day" so i ordered a Long Island with my dinner. It was delicious so I ordered a second. When I received my bill, I was charged $5 for each Long Island. When I asked the waitress about it, she said that I didn't specifically ask for the "$2 Long Island" so I had to pay the price for the regular Long Island. I explained that it was my first time and it didn't say anything on the sign about "asking specifically" so she said she would ask for me and even after she asked the bartender/owner, they didn't even come over and she said I had to pay the $10 since I had received the regular Long Island instead of the "premade" ones for $2. I could not believe the TERRIBLE customer service!!!! That waitress didn't mention a word about having a $2 or regular Long Island when I ordered and yet they didn't apologize nor even offer any discount considering it was my first time. So frustrating but I paid and left because I really had no choice or even decent service. I will never be going back again. read more

A nice neighborhood bar. The waitress seemed to know a lot of people in there by name, drink or both and was attentive to peoples drink needs all night. I never saw anyone with a empty glass or mug. I didnt get any food so i cant comment on that but they did have nice security cameras surveying the parking lot so i didnt have to worry about anyone hitting my car or stuff, that was nice. I came here once for lunch and probably will not be back. When my friend and I walked in we were just stared at by the waitstaff before someone finally told us to have a seat. I ordered the fish and chips, they were extremely greasy and I ended up only eating one peice. That was only because I was hungry. Also, when I asked for another drink, the waitress said "OK" and walked straight to her friends who were at the bar and chatted with them for awhile before deciding 5 minutes later to bring it back. Just not a place that is high on my list of places to go back. read more

My husband & I are just leaving here from seeing a friend who was in from out of town. Probably my first time back here since moving from downriver. While I miss and love my DR peeps we will NEVER come back here to eat. Everything tasted like warmed up bar food. I wish I had taken pictures! Then when they tell you it's the lighting in the the bar that is the problem lol Which admittingly makes everything look gross but it can't make it taste gross and that was the problem. If you like processed cheese from a can and cheap over cooked beef burgers and wraps with bagged shredded lettuce that disigrates when added to fake cheese and an abundance of cheap ranch this place is for you. read more

I have been eating Fish here for many years. The fish dinners that we had on this past Friday was TERRIBLE. The fish was soggy and dripped of grease. The Mac & cheese sides were tasteless and the cole slaw was very bitter and inedible. When we confronted the wait staff was informed they had a new kitchen staff. We left almost all of this sour greasy mess and swear NEVER to eat there again. A true shame to change recipes as the old was perfect. The new deplorable. My brother (visiting from California) and one of his friends was there today for burgers and beers. My brother sent his food back to the kitchen and let them know that the meat tasted bad, and thought it might be spoiled. He didn't even swallow the bite in his mouth, but spit it out into a napkin. He didn't want another one, and thought he wouldn't be charged for it. He and his friend asked for the bills, and their waitress threw their money back at them. When my brother asked for a manager, the manager defended the waitress. Except for when he was in California, my brother has been a patron there for nearly 20 years, and his friend has continually been a patron there for over 20 years. They told the manager this, and was told that it didn't matter, they didn't look familiar. They will never EVER step foot in there again, and neither will I. read more

The drinks are pretty cheap and strong. They keep the kitchen open late when you start getting the munchies after a few drinks. There is usually a pretty good seating selection unless there is a big event. read more
