Any small issues were easily resolved and they even went above and beyond a couple of times for me. I really liked the teachers/sitters too. Everybody seemed so kind and I really liked how they gave you daily updates on my child. Took my kiddo a minute to get used to leaving mommy, but the teachers helped through the process. Later my son seemed to enjoy it and even learned some social skills. We chose this daycare because the hours were longer than most and the price was in our budget. If I need to use a daycare again, I would definitely come back.

When you are looking for a center, if the administrative staff is beyond communicative, if teachers love your child as they love their own, and if the energy that seeps forth boasts of creativity and engagement at all times, you know you've found the perfect place, and that place is Rock Spring Children's Center. It's hard enough knowing that you have to leave your child over the course of a day, but to know that you have the best care possible for your child during the day helps alleviate so much of that stress. The Center does not just say they love children, what they want to do to improve or how the work aligns with the mission, but they show EACH of these things, with intention, every single day. And while I'm talking about the overall feel and experience of the center, there are so many additions that really take it to the next level. The offerings of ballet, karate, an amazing plyometrics program, and music, all of it offered from phenomenal external entities as a formal class that help keep your weekends, a little more open. And for more ease, if you struggle to pack lunch every day, a catered lunch option is available. There is differentiated instruction that allows for all students to feel safe and seen. And did I mention the engagement and love of teachers, and administration? The list goes on. TLDR: There will never be a center as phenomenal as Rock Spring Children's Center!

We've been…read moreenrolled since 2020, and left another center and watched both facilities navigate the difficult challenges that COVID presented to the child care industry. Rock Spring administration handled those challenges with grace, transparency and leadership. I've sent both of my kids there, and have grown very attached to many of the teachers. The teachers have always exhibited professialism and a high standard of care for my children. Now my older child is there for before and after care from a local elementary school, and the time he spends playing with other children at Rock Spring seems like a highlight of his days. The infant rooms are full of compassionate caregivers who treat my child like family, relishing in each new skill and milestone. I have spoken highly of Rock Spring to many friends, and asked them to take tours, and the ones who have seen it in person have agreed with my assessment and enrolled their own children. Please consider Rock Spring if you value a high teacher to child ratio, an engaging curriculum for all ages, accommodating administration, low teacher turnover and compassionate staff and teachers. Other tangible pros include regular parents night out events, lots of outdoor play space, extended hours (7a-6p plus extended evening pickup if needed), a convenient location near I270 and I495, social events for parents, optional catered lunch, optional classes including soccer and ballet, plenty of free parking and included breakfast and snacks. Please consider visiting and checking out this wonderful community.

I was almost at my wits end until I made my search area wider and found Kid's Town. I went to visit and was in love. Not only are they open from 6:30-6:30 but their pricing is amazing and truly affordable. My son is in the 3 year old class and they do so many fun activities throughout the year (they only take 2 years and up at this center). The Fun Bus comes regularly and the teachers are very friendly. They have Spanish class once a week as well. The also have extended hours during the holiday season!!!! Morning and afternoon snacks are included in the price and lunch is only $3 a day. However, the menu they give you is amazing and very much worth $3! There drop off system is amazing the doors are locked and there is a door code, then you have to check your child in using a computer system that you get a personal password for which is really nice! They do a lot for the parents as well, from breakfast, to coffee and tea. They also give you a calendar of events for the entire school year. The center director, is amazing as well. She has an open door policy in every since of the word, and truly deals with anything you bring to her attention. I love the fact that I can find her there pretty much any time of day rather I am dropping my son off at 7 or picking him up at 6. I love how they even have summer camp for older siblings along with being able to drop old siblings off when there is no school for MCPS. I am so happy I found Kid's Town, my only 2 "complaints" ( I really can't call them that) 1. They do not take credit cards :( 2. They do have buses but only for the Germantown area, I live in Gaithersburg but right outside the lines. UPDATE: they have been having a really high turn over and the people that seem to be there are not really watching the kids and or spend a large amount of time yelling at them. They seem to pay little attention to all the hitting that is going on. Maybe the classes are getting to big but I am not as in love with the center as I was when I started, even my son is starting to dislike going.

This daycare has been a disappointment. My child has been going here for four months. I don't think…read morethe are meeting the teacher to child ratio. There have been times when I have dropped my child off/picked my child up and there's one teacher and 15 kids. They say the office staff count towards their ratio because they're in the building - fine - but the office person is usually on the phone, computer, or generally uninterested. Pros - Ms. Jill is really nice. She does her job well, and sells the daycare. The daycare is conveniently located and open when most daycares are closed. The do not have 'professional' days, and have great hours. They offer promotional coupons, and give you 10-20% off. They have a lunch lady, so you have the option to buy lunch vs. pack lunch. They are reasonably priced. They have programs; such as Thanksgiving dinner and a winter play. They have a computerized login/logout system: It would be a PRO, but our LOGIN has never worked. When I suggested resetting the profile, or creating a 'dummy' account, their major concern was messing up the 'accounting,' vs. the safety of knowing my child was in attendance. Cons - I do not think they have a 'cleaning person,' so germs are running rampid. The ratio is rarely within laws/guidelines, so your child is not getting the appropriate level of care. A good portion of the day, the kids are 'playing' vs. actually learning. I do not see very much 'nurturing.' The staff is very diverse; however, this leads to language barriers for the children. They are a peanut-free daycare. After FOUR months, I have yet to see a structured curriculum. My son seems to have a 'known' bully in the class, and no one seems to do anything about it. In all honesty, I should have removed my child from this environment after the first month. MY child told me he did not like the school, and I should have listened. I never felt like my child was in harms way, but I have not seen an improvement (outside of what I teach him at home), in his learning and development. FOUR months is a lot of time to waste. It seems like there's a high turnover amongst the staff, and you can really do better! If you are considering leaving your child at this establishment, consider the time of environment you want your child in for 8 hours a day, keep looking and do not believe the hype, or the friendly smiles.

After meeting with Kellie, seeing the staff, and facility, we enrolled our 2 year old son. He loves it. Every month has a theme, and days of the week have specific activities. Ms. Danielle - Science; does interesting and fun experiments with the kids. Ms. Farzi - Works with the kids on cooking, singing, etc. Mr. Dwight - Maintenance and Cleaning; Friendly guy who keeps the place clean. Often have a good chat with him. More people interact with our son, but these are the primary people I have gotten to know. KinderCare has been extra cautious and supportive during the COVID-19 crisis. My daughter spent nearly 5 years at A to Z and my son 3. They really thrived and loved the staff and curriculum. It is a small daycare, I believe max 3 kids with a few infants upstairs and downstairs toddlers through pre-K. Food is provided and it is consistent with Montgomery county guidelines. The kids have reading time, circle time, and arts and craft and learning time. The facilities are very clean and there are lots of activities and toys for the children. They also have regular nap time / quiet time for the children and snacks. In particular, my daughters math skills were very high for Kindergarten. However, as time has worn on, it seems like the true colors of the school has shown themselves. The owners of the School (in particular Jill) seems to be all about the money. I don't understand how they can justify increasing the costs each & every single year (when they already charge an arm and a leg for tuition across the board) & they say it's due to them losing their talented teachers to the local Public Schools. Jill thinks throwing more & more money at the Teachers will make them want to stay at Goddard. I think the reality is why don't you create a better culture and focus more on the environment for the Teachers to be happy in. They even created a Kindergarten program for the first time this year. Instead of the classroom being located inside of the building, they added a Trailer outside of the building next to the Playground. It seemed as though the class was totally separate from the School itself (literally & figuratively). There were also many times throughout the year when we received conflicting messages/emails between the Goddard School & the Kindergarten classroom on different activities & events. At times, this caused us confusion and many emails/phone calls to the school to determine what was really going on. If you are looking for a quality Pre-School located in Urbana, I would HIGHLY recommend going with Kid's Villa Learning Center. Save yourself the money & the headaches

They embraced our little granddaughter and the responsibility for her learning care with all the gusto we could hope for in those charged with caring for her for a significant part of her day. Now five, she gets up each day knowing and excited that something new and different awaits her. Learning is everywhere and concern for her well being is front and center. Be it their attentiveness to her numerous allergies or their proactive eye towards seeing that she is in the right level and with the right classmates so that she continues to be challenged, the school is a great fit for our always curious grand baby. An added bonus has been the daily sharing by email of her progress as she navigates a balance of guided work and learning play that the curriculum affords each student. I'm confident she has been well served and will be more than kindergarten ready in the fall, but her time at Goddard will not have ended there. Being just steps away from her new primary school, we will be taking advantage of Goddard's before and after care program giving us the reassurance that she has a safe and nurturing place to get homework out of the way and be with friends until we come to collect her. We've never had second thought about enrolling her.
