Great store, nicely organized and the very best of prices. It's definitely worth the short drive.

Absolutely one of my very favorites. I shop there often. Prices on most items are good. They now have a rewards card too.

Fantastic deals. Don't want to say too much as I don't want a lot of people showing up and taking deals from me!

Ask the Community - MCC Connections Thrift Shop

    Do you carry furnature polish?

We generally use any donated furniture polish when we prepare furniture to sell. There are times we might have excess and sell it, but we can never tell. It will be located in our Hardware department in the store if we do have any.

I am 37 years old and have been shopping at this place for two years, spending an average of $2,000…read moreevery month. I am neurodivergent and have ADHD. I have found that I can provide for my family reselling thrift store clothing on the internet. In the time that I was a customer, I was respectful, always organizing my items before setting it down for the cashier, greeting others, always saying positive things to the workers about their displays. That same treatment was not reciprocated. I was told "Oh you're back again?" or "I JUST PUT ALL THESE ITEMS ON THE RACKS TEN MINUTES AGO!!!!" I have never been told Thank You for my loyalty. I've never once been asked "is there anything I could help you with?" A few months ago, I stopped into the store and I overheard the employees gossiping about me (again) while I was shopping. So I called the store and addressed the issue with the woman in charge. She did say that she was aware of that happening. But that the employees feel uncomfortable around me. I was surprised to hear this because I've been consistently supporting their non-profit for years and always made it a point to be neat, mannerly, and friendly to anyone I encountered in there. She said to me that one employee claimed I threw my clothing down at the checkout and that it was rude. I said to her, "no, actually I'm healing from a broken hand, and often times my wrist gives out when I'm carrying something heavy." I didn't go back for a long time. Then today I thought I would go in and cash in all the Store Credits I'd been saving up and to never return to the place after that. Unfortunately, I will never get the chance to cash in my store credit because I will no longer support a business that treats neurodivergent adults the way they treated me today. As I was checking my items out today, I was approached by a woman I did not recognize. With about 8 other customers watching, she stated that they watched me on the cameras the last time I was in the store and that I "opened a can of soda, took a sip, set it on a shelf, and left it there and that it needed to be paid for today!" I was absolutely mortified, explaining that the situation was very likely as I have ADHD and Autism, and would never steal a 50 cent drink. Just 10 minutes prior, I was looking around their store for my drink that I lost TODAY while shopping. The concerning part to me is this: I informed the woman in charge of the staff that I have autism and adhd. She said "WELL WE CAN'T READ YOUR MIND!!!"..... This is when I explained "I'm sorry I don't look, act, or speak the way you want me to, but mistreating me for it, is not okay." I eventually had to ask this woman to stop interrupting my transaction with the cashier as I was trying to focus. The woman told me she would gladly have a talk with me outside when I was done. I assured her that she wouldn't because I needed her to leave me alone. I exited the store and reminded everyone shopping, "PRETTY GIRLS HAVE AUTISM TOO." So I ask, do neurodivergent adults need to announce their diagnosis to the businesses they support to protect themselves from mistreatment for their quirkiness?

The layout of the store is pretty good but could feel crowded if there are lots of people inside. There is plenty of parking in front of the building- I've never had an issue with parking. The shop has a nice variety of decor, knickknacks, kitchenware, jewelry, collectibles, art books and lots of other stuff; they do not carry clothes, shoes and similar items. The thrift shop benefits the Summit Humane Society, so they have a nice selection of pet supplies and toys. I enjoy Happy Trails for the collectibles and art items. Over the years I have gotten a number of interesting items, recently I picked up a small carved Asian wood panel and a small replica Samuri helmet. I have also picked up pans, collectible pins and a backpack from Happy Trails. You can never be sure what they will have for sale, but they always have an interesting selection. They also have some really good high-end items most of which are up front near the register; they also usually have some nice antiques or vintage items. Overall prices are very reasonable especially because of the quality of the items they are offering. If you are in the area a stop at Happy Trails Thrift is well worth your time, they always have some fun items and great selection. Plus it is great to help support the Humane Society either by donating or buying something at the store. The staff at the store are wonderful and very friendly.
