He was extremely caring and understanding when it came to my concerns and requests. He worked hard and intelligently fought our way to success in dealing with different motions, depositions, and in the courtroom. Going through a divorce and dealing with custody arrangements can be extremely stressful and draining, but with Steve and his team on board I can sleep at night rest assured that I have someone who is fighting in my corner, who truly looks out for my best interest, and has my back 100%. Priceless!!! All the success I've had in the courtroom and most importantly the extra time and days I get to spend with my child is because of Mr. Glaros and his awesome team!

This wasn't a complicated case. Yet I left the experience feeling exploited at one of the most vulnerable times in my life. From the start, timelines were misrepresented -- milestones that should have taken weeks stretched into months with no real explanation, and it became clear the delays served their billing, not my case. The invoices told the real story: charges for redundant emails covering the same content, and a pattern of partial-hour billings for phone calls and check-ins that never delivered real answers -- a nickel-and-dime approach that added up fast. On top of that were line items for "work" I had already completed and handed to them myself. Mediation was the low point. Instead of advocating for my interests, they seemed more interested in finding new reasons to bill me for the same work already provided. At one point it was obvious they were distracted with other client matters during my paid session. Communication was consistently slow -- days to respond to simple questions. And when I raised concerns about the billing practices directly, the response wasn't accountability, it was defensiveness. If you're going through a divorce and need someone who will fight for you and bill honestly, look elsewhere. For a simple case with no real complexity, this was an expensive lesson in how the wrong lawyer can make a hard process so much harder.

I did not feel that way the whole time she was representing me. Going through the mediation I felt like I was in a high pressure sales tactic and my lawyer Marcie Baker was standing up for me or listening to my wishes. She spent more time arguing with me than listening to what I was saying. In my opinion she has no empathy for what a person goes through in a divorce and every situation is different. I not mad or disappointed in the outcome of my divorce. Im mad and disappointed in the person a choose to represent me. To top it all off this lawyer quit my case at the end of the divorce kept all my money except for a $100 and change. This put me in a bind where I had to find another lawyer and it is very hard to do that when a lawyer has quit you. I also had to come up with another $3500 for the second lawyer who was a 100 times better and well worth the money. With this experience I had, I just want ed worn everyone else to think twice before making the decision to use Macie Baker to represent you in a divorce.

Jana Barnett and her outstanding support team truly live up to the slogan "Big Firm Experience - Small Firm Service". I needed a team of lawyers to go up against a divorce lawyer that was known for going after every DIME she could get. Plus, my wife did not work, and I made a decent income, and we have two children together. Florida being a no-fault state, the deck of cards was already stacked against me. Jana Barnett handled my apposing counseling like she was playing a fiddle; she knows divorce law and can craft tailor made proposals word smithed perfectly for the situation or scenario. Her staff is organized so each member of the team is tracking on what is happening with each case, they use a cauterized (closed) email system that keeps everyone informed about what is happening in the case. The paralegals know what needs to be done, when paperwork or documents arrive in person or by email, they are scanned and filed immediately, streamlining the whole process. It is this level of detail reassured me, I picked the BEST and RIGHT law firm. But what really SOLD me was when I sat down with Jana and we laid out a complete plan of what we were going to do. From Discovery records, Mediation, Proposals, Depositions, And Even Court if we had to, we had a plan on what we needed to do. The Staff acted as a Team: I could stop in and ask a question and get an answer right away. I would bring in a box of donuts and ask a question, I sat right next my lawyer, Jana, during Mediation and we together stopped at the 4th hour and in final seconds when the other lawyer tried to ask for one last thing, Jana my excellent lawyer was smart, and WE said "NO!!!" It was the right call. I got my divorce without going to Court thanks Jana and her Excellent Support Team. I would Hire Them again, but get marriage; not without a prenup done by Jana Barnett and her remarkable team.

I was given worksheets to fill in with financials and I took the parenting class as instructed. What I was never given were time frames. Their office had to file extensions "on by behalf" that I would not have needed if they had been more transparent. I only knew of the deadlines from my husband's opposing counsel. By the end of April I was still being asked for new information about my financials and an order of contempt was to filed and fine incurred because paperwork was not being processed in time. My husband had to stop the order of contempt. Luckily for me our divorce was amicable between the parties but my time with Barnett and Gill was not. I had to sever my relationship with the firm and come to an agreement with my husband alone to move on. Very disappointed in the level of service. I never spoke to a lawyer (Jana) until I requested an end to our contract. They made a hard time worse for me and will keep my retainer even though their office did nothing in the end to help me. Bad businesspeople with no regard for time management.

Howard Ellzey was my attorney, upon reviewing the contract there's a section on there that says "Retainer Fees" make sure you clearly understand what this is saying, they are taking a extra $950 from you upon paying the 6k retainer fee. He words it in a way to be deceitful. He sat on my retainer for 14 days, I had two days left to reply to the petition or i would of defaulted on my case. Had i not called and left a voice mail for him on day 18 then who knows what would of happened. He made it seem in the consult he would be right on it. He then is not up front in emails and you wind up sending 5-12 messages back and forth to see what he really needs from you. He will charge for those as well. He will also charge for emails he clearly states in the bottom " I am not charging you for the time it took to reply to this email". I did bring these discrepancies and many others up with him and he told me they made no sense to him. He will also chalk it up as "more than usual amount of emails" but again, he sends unnecessary emails. Then tried to send me a new invoice for $1,700+ more because I brought these things up to him. This is what you call intimidation at its finest. He can be very condescending as well. After paying 10k to not even make it to mediation my mind is blown. Taking full advantage of a single mother of two in a time of distress. He will also sit on any paper work then make you feel rushed to redo all of it & send it over organized, because i guess the amount i paid didn't cover him organizing the paper work. not even two months on retainer and i still haven't made it to mediation why? because Howard refused to set a date with the opposing party. I strongly urge others to think twice before hiring this individual. Legal representation should bring clarity and confidence, not confusion and distrust. If you're in a vulnerable situation, particularly involving family law or custody matters, this is not the kind of advocate you want on your side.
