Seibert Mechanical was significantly less expense ($2,900) than the other company. They both recommended the same tankless water heater (Navien). I would definitely use them again. They were booked solid - but he listened to my issue over the phone and gave me some troubleshooting ideas to include it is "usually a GFCI somewhere that got bumped and tripped that is causing the problem". I asked if that doesn't work, any recommendations for a competing electrician - provided with no hesitation. Before calling the recommended competitor, I found the offending GFCI (second floor bathroom - who knew??!), reset it and all good. So I never actually used them - but they will be my first call when I actually need an electrician. Though I think I know why they were booked solid.

They came out assessed the work and were willing to work with my budget. A can of worms to say the least. I tried to explain that my electricity went out at 7:44 AM, all of a sudden, all at once. She repeated again rather sharply, "I don't have anyone here who can help you!" There was an emphatic pause, dead silence, nothing. Wow I thought, she just wants me hang up...to go away and leave her alone. How rude I thought. Doesn't she want or need my business? I was so surprised at her abruptness, emphatically stating so quickly that she couldn't help me and gave me nothing more, like some advice or something...I had to ask her, "Are you a business?" And I asked if there was another time, anytime, maybe? No, she said she was booked for two weeks! Well, I was sure that I didn't want to sit in the dark for two weeks. Wow. No one at Crouse Electric could check my electric or guide me? I was only five minutes away (But she didn't know that, because she never asked). I was so surprised at her immediate rejection of my call. She didn't take my name or address for her business records and maybe she'd get back with me later. She didn't give me advice as to what to check or what steps I should take. Nothing. It was clear. Hang up! She didn't want my business no matter who I was. I can't help but think...maybe if I told her needed outside lights installed and designed around my pool and barbecue area, solar lights that come on automatically when it gets dark...maybe she would have seen the dollar signs $$$...maybe she would have been nicer to me and would have been eager to take my name and address because it was a real $$$ money job. After waiting for over an hour my electricity was restored by the electric company. Why couldn't she have been kind enough to advise me to wait and see if the electric company would do something? and then give her a call back. As it stands now, I will NEVER ask Crouse Electric to help me...with designing outside spotlights around my pool, or anything! Heck, I won't ask them to do any work for me now or anytime in the future. She didn't have to blow me off like that. She was so rude. I can take my business elsewhere. Actually, I found a very pleasant electrician, Curtis Hawk of Hawk's Electric, located in Littlestown only 15 minutes away. He was kind and said he'd be there in the afternoon, and he would call me when he leaves. (Smart! The delay was perfect!!) About an hour later, I called Mr. Hawk back to tell him the electric company turned my electricity back on. Mr. Hawk said if I needed him in the future for anything, just give him a call. He will get my business!!

Unfortunately, the unit had a major leak and was very old. They did not try to sell me anything or push expensive products. But they did provide us with information and a quote for a new a/c unit and furnace same day. The next day I was in touch with them about what we wanted, and honestly, I expected when scheduling install that it would probably be at least a week till they could get to us as it was warm and we were just getting ready to go into a forecasted heat wave. Tucker tried to get us on the schedule next day (Thursday) or Friday but they were booked. However, he had us scheduled for first thing the following Monday. The crew arrived at 8am Monday morning, worked tirelessly and had the a/c and furnace installed and cool air coming out of the vents by 2pm. They cleaned up and you couldn't even tell that they had been there!!
