I got online to see what my insurance benefits had to offer. I found the name of a therapist so I called that number. Whoever was on the phone at first was amazing. I talked with her for a few minutes and she asked me if I wanted to schedule an appointment. I thought I had one the next morning at 7:00 am. No one said anything about an address so I assumed it was the number I called. I go the next morning. Doors are locked. I call and get a call center and he says he doesn't know where I am. I just went home. upset and frustrated. Around 11:00 someone from here called said they apologized but again never said I was at the wrong address. I drive back over and no I need to go 8 miles away. That would have been great info to know. I get there and get treated I have big issues. I have to lock my wallet, notebook and water bottle. the lady says I have no idea whats in there. water I always need water. I get put in a 10X10 room with three chairs a table and one picture. no music or anything. All the while my husband is in the parking lot. I wait for like 20 min. finally Beth comes in. We start talking she's yawning and her eyes are rolling like she high as hell. I just really felt I was for sure keeping this lady awake. Yesterday I just needed to talk with someone. Now I feel like I'm committing myself. I'm not going back. If your just looking for some talk therapy and relief from all this crazy world offers these day DONT GO HERE.

You're reading this and you're on the fence about if you should make the call or not. You're unsure…read moreif counseling will even help you. Do you even need counseling? All things that ran through my head before I contacted Scott. I cannot tell you how eternally grateful I am that I got in touch with him. I reached out to Scott after making some bad decisions that really put some strain on my marriage. I contacted Scott for a few 1 on 1 sessions to lay out where I was at, what I was struggling with, and my desire to eventually come in with my wife for some couples counseling. I was never a big believer in counseling before this, as I had been to a few in my life for more minor issues without feeling any benefit. Prior counselors seemed to have an approach on rails, with the mentality that there was only one given approach to any issue. Scott thinks outside this box, which is massively helpful. Scott was compassionate and listened, making me feel heard while being very objective and being sure we established my desires and what I wanted before pursuing a path to get there. I brought my wife into the fold and the transition seemed rather seamless. My wife would say she felt the same as I did about counseling before meeting with Scott and after the first session she said she felt we were in good hands. Scott does a great job at listening and interjecting only when needed. In terms of couples counseling, he makes a strong effort to make couples communicate with eachother, and not just speak their piece to him as a sort of mediator, which I think is immensely helpful. He's so down to earth, it makes it seem as if you're talking to a friend rather than a trained professional. I think my marriage is far better off for our time with Scott and we plan on continuing going to him for the foreseeable future even though we are on a great path, as he's able to pick out and see potential problem areas to be addressed when we can't see them. I promise you, if you're on the fence and unsure if you should reach out, you should. Scott is the man for the job and I guarantee you'll agree with me.

Instead, they will prescribe old outdated drugs like Depakote, instead of the much newer drugs on the market. Without asking or consulting with you personally. They are currently being federally investigated for lengthy patient hospital stays and billing practices! This place is ran by Acadia Health. They partnered with Trinity Health to use the Mt. Carmel name. This is very deceiving. You will NOT get the same good quality of care! Communication between patient and caregivers is terrible. They won't tell you anything, even if you ask repeatedly. Instead, they act like they don't hear you. I asked, pleaded and begged to be sent out to Mt. Carmel East for testing due to severe lower back pain. It was very debilitating and I was in severe pain the whole time I was there. They denied my request to be sent out. After discharge I went to a local hospital emergency room for an MRI and other testing and was diagnosed with severe spinal stenosis and this place denied me medical care. It is so severe that I will be needing surgery and they totally ignored my requests when I could hardly walk or get around. Terrible place! Don't come here or you will regret it. The staff is abusive toward patients!! If you ask questions and cause too much of a problem you will be sedated against your will. They sent a whole group of medical staff into my room and held me down against my will and sedated me for several days in a row. I'm assuming because I asked questions and they never acknowledged me so I acted out. One worker (a very heavy male attendant) bent my right wrist back so far I thought he was breaking it. VERY ABUSIVE TOWARD PATIENTS. The doctor and staff do not care about your medical history or your well being. They are in it to bilk your insurance company for every penny they can get. Don't expect to get outta here anytime soon! They will keep you 8-12 days minimum. Which is way longer then the average stay at other behavioral units in the city. Go elsewhere, you won't be treated like a human being here! THIS PLACE NEEDS SHUT DOWN! I have already filed a complaint w/my health care provider and contiplating filing complaints with The Mental Health and Addiction Board and Ohio Dept of Health. They need to know exactly what's going on in this sh*t hole place.

Coffee was only offered with their disgusting meals and water was locked up and had to be requested. The TV remote was also held at the nurse's station and had to be returned immediately once a channel was selected. It was freezing cold at all times. There was one clock in the entire unit at the nurse's station, so we never knew what time it was as we were not allowed out of our rooms between 10 pm and 7 am. There was no individual therapy and the group therapy sessions were inconsistent, disorganized and worthless. Most of the staff besides Brandy was careless - so careless in fact that a patient in my unit named Joel Gullet died and they didn't even realize it until the next day. It was horrifying to the patients in my unit and I still can't wrap my mind around it. I was initially put in unit 200 because the "normal" units didn't have room and there were violent people there who literally said they were psychopaths. No one would tell me when I could leave. I am beyond traumatized and could go on and on. I'm shocked they haven't been shut down.

Even thinking about having blood taken or getting stitches was often enough to make me feel dizzy and panicky. Bob taught me several self-hypnosis techniques to help me deal with the anxiety and prevent the fainting. He also helped me determine what had triggered the fear in the first place and deal with it. He is very flexible; if one technique isn't working or the patient thinks something else will work better, he is open to changing things up. He will often suggest different ideas to determine which one resonates best with the patient and furthers treatment. Before my sessions with Bob, I was told I would require several tests and subsequent procedures that would involve IVs and injections. I couldn't even contemplate making the appointments for the tests. After five sessions with Bob, I was able to make the first procedure appointment. I have since made the other two! Having the tools to control my needle phobia will greatly improve my health care, and, thus, my health. I highly recommend Bob. Thank you so much for helping me! J.B.
