As it happens, Rick also was a huge advocate for me when scheduling the move in the building hit a SNAFU. I was barely holding it together and he swooped in and arranged everything with the move coordinator. The movers he works with (FirstHand Movers) are great, efficient, and respectful. After the selected items were removed, everything left seemed manageable and I was able to quickly clear out the rest using a junk removal service. I'm so grateful to Rick, his son, and his movers for helping me get everything out in just a few days. He offered to look through coins my mom left as well as jewelry so that's my next step.

I called him, explained that we're not selling anything exceptionally valuable, but have a storage locker's worth of furniture and housewares that we need help getting rid of. Pete was interested, and explained his process to me. I agreed to work with him, he sent me a contract to review, and a few days later he met us at our storage locker to sort through our items and collect what he thought would sell. The estate sale was scheduled for a few weeks later, out of a private residence where our items would be combined with other sellers'. The agreement was we could pick up whatever items of ours didn't sell afterward. Pete sent over a spreadsheet tracking our sales, which was helpful. After the estate sale weekend, he sent me my 50% of the sale revenues via Zelle. Easy peasy. If you want to keep all your sale profits, which is certainly your prerogative, I'd go that aforementioned Marketplace route, or a yard sale. For me, my time and convenience matter more, so I was happy to split the profits 50/50 and let an estate seller do the work. Would recommend Pete at Alameda Estate Sales.
