I took off a star for the price (see below for details). Timeline: I found out about the problem Sunday night (11pm), Thomas came around 9am Mon, and he was done at 12pm. My positive experience: My water heater (2016 Rheem) stopped working, and they were able to come out first thing in the morning to take a look. Upon reviewing my existing water heater, they recommended replacing it, along with some infrastructure updates to make sure everything was up to code. Thomas explained everything that needed to be done in detail, and I had a great experience interacting with him. The price: I took off one star because they're a bit on the pricey side. I ended up paying a little more than I originally wanted to even with some discounts they were able to provide. My original water heater was also still under warranty for both tank and parts until 2028, but this information was never revealed to me. I found out after I approved the job (my fault for not looking into it). I would've been happier if a cheaper option to replace some broken parts was offered to me as well, so that I could've made a better informed decision on repair vs replacement. Overall, I'm happy with their work, but price sensitive customers may want to look at other options before making a decision.

I explained the clogged drain has nothing to do with a gutter and she tried to say they don't clean drains. It was if they looked for every opportunity to find an excuse not to help. The clogged drain does not need to be cleaned as it is in a standing clean pool of water, but I suspect it needs to be snaked. Terrible to waste so much time not to be helped.

Hector answered the phone and after explaining my water heater issue he was able to schedule someone to out to my house the next morning. Josh arrived right on time and after discussing my limited space issues where the water heater is located, he was able to confirm that there would not be any problems replacing my old heater, if needed. After explaining to Josh that I was able get the pilot light to stay on and after he inspected my water heater, he recommended that I wait and see if the pilot light goes out again. If it does, it is more than likely a pilot light control (thermocouple) issue. At that time I could have the thermocouple replaced and be good to go! I initially contacted him to perform maintenance on my tankless hot water heater since I had just moved into a new home. Zorro showed up on time, was extremely patient, and took the time to answer all of my questions (it was my first time dealing with a tankless system). Because of how great the experience was, I ended up asking him for a quote on a whole house water filtration system as well. During the installation, one of the filter tanks unfortunately had a crack. Zorro immediately got on the phone with his supplier to get a replacement as quickly as possible. He kept me informed every step of the way, even sending me the tracking number so I could follow along. When the replacement arrived on a Saturday, Zorro was at my house within the hour to finish the job. That level of responsiveness and accountability is rare. I've come to understand how crucial it is to find an honest/fair general contractor. My brother in…read morelaw and sister purchased their second home at Point Dume, Malibu. After obtaining all the required permits they took in bids (contractors come and give a quote in regards to the cost of the project, it intails all the specifics of the work.) The first contractor they hired was less then honest. And as for production, we had weekly meetings and saw absolutely no progress. To be fair they demo most of the existing house and semi completed a retaining wall. After patiently trying to work with him we had to let him go. Luckily for us John Hanley was recommended by a family friend who lived in the area and had most of his home built by John. So the bidding process started again. This is where you sense the honesty of people. Some contractors came with some astronomical number and you can only imagine how much higher it would get if hired. They say you should stick to the middle. I've been closely working with John and his crew for over a year now and still continuing. Estimated completion date is July/August 2016. It has been a night and day difference. From only seeing dirt and the old existing concrete foundation on the ground to new concrete foundation, all the framing, plumbing, new septic system, rain water catch system, all the electrical...too many details to list but I was here to witness it all. We still have a long ways to go but I'm sure John will get us to the finish line.
