If I could give zero stars I would. Called the office after hours for an emergency as a last resort. Was told by answering service the would not take an emergency call unless already a current patient. Guess they have too much business then. How do they think you get patients? If you went to the ER and they refused service they would get fired and sued. Absolute worthless excuse for a vet clinic. read more

The staff is always friendly and professional. We have had two dogs that they have taken care of for us over the past few years. Unfortunately today's visit was to transition our Buck from his earthly home to his heavenly home. Dr. Falwell and Nick were both very compassionate and kind as we went through this sad process. It would only take a pill to save my mother's outdoor dog's life and they refused even though they have seen him before. I'm 70 and can't get him in the car. I even offered to pay an office visit fee. He has ringworm. I'm live on a farm and am a retired nurse. I know ringworm. Because I can't get him to the office, I will have to have the neighbor put him down to put him out of his misery. Vets use to help. Now they only want money. read more

I really wanted to like this clinic for my two dogs. I gave them 3 chances and after the 3rd mistake I had to walk. I believe ALL the problems come from the front desk, which is an absolute shame. We moved to the area one year ago and I was eager to find a good reliable vet to take my dogs. Even though it was a 40 min drive, based on the reviews and cleanliness of the office, I felt like I made a great choice. The first visit the front desk got my name incorrect and acted put out by the fact I was wanting my dogs to be seen there. There is a woman who I believe has been there for far too long. Never has a smile on her face and is rude to the other receptionists that also work there. She really shows she hates her job. Not aware of her surroundings and the first time We visited, it seemed like her phone was far most important than the people bringing their beloved pets in. Her station is in the middle desk as you walk in the door. I never caught her name because I always felt like I was putting her out by having her do her job. 1st visit: nails and anal glands 2nd visit: update shots 3rd visit: nails and anal glands 4th visit: check up for a red dark bump- assuming it was a spider bite, but unsure. No signs of irritation. 4th visit that determined I will NEVER go back. They had no record of my previous visits. When the vet entered the room he seemed confused as he did not think we have been there before, because he saw no records of us being there previously. We talked briefly about the spot and he quickly shaved the area without saying what he was doing and said it would be best to give a Cortisone shot and meds to see if it gets better. They didn't not know what the spot was. I went to leave and a receptionist AGAIN asked for my information. I finally became frustrated because I have been bringing my dogs there for a little over a year, and also with them losing my information in the past. I stopped and let her know she needed to look for my records before I would repeat my information for the 3rd time. She apologized. I could tell she was struggling but then also noticed that the "put out seasoned receptionist, who has been there for far to long, and hates her job", did nothing to help her coworker. I paid for the services we received and left. I returned home to find the spot on my poor pup was inflamed and irritated from the shave job the vet gave. My poor pup was in pain. It looked as though they gave my pup razor burn and nicked the spot which made it bleed, which before our visit showed no sign of irritation. I have included the pictures of before and after our visit. I decided to go elsewhere the following day because there were no signs of relief from my poor pup. read more

Very pleased with the service my pets have received here. With Thant being said, go to Dr. Badger or Dr. Jones - they are both excellent. Not only are they very knowledgeable/ experienced, they're also genuine and caring. Highly recommend!!! I know of a few folks who took their dog to Dr. Moore and Dr. Chung (after hour emergency care) and their experience was fine. My personal experience was with Dr. Moore and I felt confident about her proposed treatment. Should you walk in and get Dr. Choate - leave. Seriously LEAVE. I've not heard a single positive thing about this vet and can personally attest to reasons for concern. read more

Was traveling & my dog developed an eye problem. Checked the local area & found these folks. Was seen on a walk in basis which took waiting maybe 20 min. Dr. Badger did a through job of checking her eyes & prescribing an ointment which is working great. All the folks I interacted with here were friendly and caring. I have used this vet with my 16 year old Rescue dog Layla 2-3x. The staff are always super friendly and go out of their way to make Layla and I feel comfortable and confident that she's in good hands. Layla has arthritis and a heart condition that another vet had been treating her for the past 5 years. The Vets here double checked her records and her heart and agreed to keep her on the same medication as it's working so well. We are happy here! Just recently my daughter's 8 pound rescue dog, Lucky, was visiting us when our neighbors standard poodle (75-80 pounds) came into our yard and attacked him. We broke up the attack but this little dog was bleeding everywhere & hurt badly! This was on a Saturday at 7pm when all vets were closed. I called the Mayfield Vet clinic's after hours answering service and Dr Timothy Jones called me right back! He agreed to meet us immediately at the office. He was so kind and good to Lucky, who usually doesn't like ANYONE except his family. Lucky had to stay over-night and have x-rays and lots of sutures. We picked him up the next day and were so pleased with Dr Jones and the staff. I give them 5 stars, my highest recommendations! They are a little pricy ($674 for this visit) BUT they had to call in an x-ray tech and give him anesthesia, so it was a fair price and no higher than the other vets in this area. It's SO IMPORTANT to us to have a vet that gives you peace of mind, knowing they'll will call you back and meet you after hours!! They're there for you when there's an emergency! 5 stars or 10, if I could give 10, for the Mayfield Vet clinic! The place is spotless, modern, and everyone who works there is super friendly. Please give them a try, you'll love it there! read more

I have taken my pets there for a while. Dr Jones is nothing less than amazing, however, the vet that took care of my new puppy was nothing less than HORRIBLE. Now with this being said, I can't remember her name and it's not any one that is on their website. I came in and wouldn't sit down because my puppy hadn't had her 2nd parvo shot. When I walked into the room I saw finger prints on the exam table. I asked if the table had been cleaned. The nurse said "it's whatever".... I then repeated that to her and asked what that meant. I refused to place my puppy on the table and the vet had to take fecal samples from my arms. The vet preformed parvo test and started to walk out. I then asked the vet why they weren't going to examine my puppy. The nurse and the vet both looked at me like I was asking too much... the nurse then left the room and the vet "preformed" an examination. I was then told my puppy had parvo...... she had a 50/50 chance of living if treated there for 5 to 10 days. My visit for that day was $116.00.... it was going to cost $160.00 per day for up to 10 days to, maybe, save my puppy. When I called my breeder she told me to leave... and to bring my puppy to her vet. When I told the vet of this, she then gave my puppy a 75% chance of living..... (NOTE ) she only gave her a 50% chance before. I left there with her telling me I shouldn't take her anywhere else.... and in ONE DAY my puppy is home and healthy with the bill only being $128.00. I will never go there, EVER, again..... UNLESS, you see DR. JONES, DO NOT VISIT. I almost put my perfectly healthy puppy down because of this "VET". read more
