The workers are very understanding and professional. It helps that they are younger and the place is modern.

I'll start with the good - my daughter who actually got seen said the dentist & the hygienist were…read morenice. That's where the good ends. My younger daughter has been seen there twice. My older daughter had her appointment cancelled twice. The third time, the office called me the day before the appointment to update our provider on the insurance. I called the insurance company who told me that the office said that they cannot accept new patients and refused to see BOTH of my daughters again because they're "new patients." Granted, my older daughter was never actually seen, but my younger was seen twice! The office itself is filthy and unfriendly. The receptionist I spoke with on the phone was unhelpful and unapologetic. She also chastised the billing person who called to tell us that we needed to update the insurance and said "she'll be dealt with." The Google reviews are also abysmal and I read them prior but went ahead with this office because of the convenience. Let that be a lesson to me.

If I could give a 0 stars I would. This is literally the worst orthodontist around. I wish I would…read morehave done research before choosing them for my daughter. They used to send reminder texts for appointments and they stopped. You can never reach anyone cause the ortho phone calls are sent to a call center in Florida and they never answer , never call back voicemails and don't respond to emails. The orthodontist travels so if you miss appointment on accident you are screwed. My daughter needed a 6 month checkup and they wouldn't schedule it when leaving appointment because it was too far out on our last visit. It took almost a year for anyone to contact me. Thankfully she's in retainer phase so I didn't care too much. Finally went got her in and my daughters teeth have shifted because she fights me wearing a retainer which is 100% her fault. Hygienist told us that my daughter could still wear retainer but would hurt a bit for a while but orthodontist told us absolutely not that it will harm her teeth. Wanted to retreat and I refused cause I warned my daughter I will not pay to fix her teeth again. Orthodontist didn't like my answer and insisted she needed a new retainer. I ended up just walking out of the office because I was annoyed and felt like I was being treated badly for not wanting to do another cosmetic procedure when her teeth don't even look bad and because my child new consequences and she's a teenager so knows better. Ended up calling a highly recommended orthodontist in the area who told me exactly what the hygienist did and said that if the retainer still goes in wear it that it won't harm the teeth at all and that's what Invisalign does. So in the end Katsur just wanted my money and didn't do the right thing at all. And had me and my daughter both upset. Worst place in the world. Love the hygienist wish I could keep her and boot the ortho.

I need to update my review. First, the children's side closed down with no phone calls, etc. I'm…read morebeing told that an email was sent, but I surely can't find it. So, I needed to find my children a new provider. This was (and still is) quite an upheaval. Now for the bigger issue. My husband has had considerable work done at Precision on Perry Hwy. We have incredibly good dental insurance (90%). Between what insurance has paid, and what we have paid out of pocket (thousands at a time), we are up to approx 20k paid to this doctor (my est is actually higher, but let's say 20k for good measure). Hubby has had crowns, implants, etc. He likes Dr. Modic (as do I). My issue is that their "policies and procedures" cross the line from policy to vultures. On my first real work done there, I was given a treatment plan that looked very different from my husband's. His was broken down by the appt and procedure line by line. Mine had a small breakdown in the middle that I failed to understand. I had a temp crown put on, and was told that I had to pay the 10% up front. Huh? No one said this when all the paperwork was signed. No, it was buried in the fine print that all payments are due immediately. Ok, fine. I didn't have my card on me (a new one was literally in the mail due to fraud). Rather than wait for my permanent crown to hit me for the $120 I owed (My payment was 10%. The other 90%, or $1200-ish, was paid by the insurance co), they called my husband at work 5 minutes after I left the office and demanded payment! He was busy and could not help them at the time. So, I went in today (I just got my card) and paid the bill. I expressed my thoughts after I asked her to review my husband's chart to see how much money we have paid this practice in 2 years. I understand the need for payment. I even understand getting it up front for the most part. I understand when I'm told that the payment is covering the cost of the crown to be made. They sound as if the $120 is paying for the crown. Apparently they are forgetting about the other 90% they get when the bill is given to my insurer! However, when you have a family that pays THIS much, you'd think that you'd be treated like more than just a blank check. Nope. Doesn't matter. I now know that people don't matter in this practice.. its money, money, money. Sad, cause Dr. Modic is a likeable fellow, as are his assistants. Oh, and let me add that I have owned my practice in mental health since 2017. I've never called a regular, long term patient (or another family member who joined in my practice) over insignificant amount of money. I get paid from the insurance co, same as the doctor here. If someone needs to ride their copay for a few weeks, then fine.. I know my people and the ones who have been my "bread and butter" are recognized, and additional latitude given because that's just GOOD BUSINESS. I can be treated like a blank check anywhere. At least lie to me and make me feel like you care about more than just your payment!

My sister and brother-in-law went to Refresh and it was a nightmare. My sister has perfect teeth…read moreand my brother-in-law does also. They went for a cleaning and check up and were told that they needed $12,000 worth of work each. They said "you may as well take advantage of your insurance" . They told my sister she would need to come back four times for a cleaning and my brother-in-law twice.. It would almost be funny if it wasn't so outrageous. Do not go there!! Reporting them to the insurance company and Better Business Bureau.
