Bare feet in the bathroom gross. The bathroom was so dirty
Brianna H.

This past Sunday, I attended Maya Day Club for a pool party. My friend's husband bought a section for her birthday, and there were about six of us in total. First off, I highly do not recommend getting in the pool -- it's crowded with drunk people who aren't even buying drinks. It felt dirty and far from sanitary. As for our section, my friend's husband purchased three bottles: tequila, champagne, and then another bottle when we were getting ready to leave. When they brought out the third bottle, they didn't do any kind of celebration -- no sparkler, no sign, nothing. I politely asked the bottle girl if she could bring out the "Happy Birthday" sign so we could take a picture for my friend's birthday. She responded in a snarky tone, saying, "We only do that for premium bottles." Mind you, we had already purchased three bottles by then. I asked if she could at least check since it was a birthday, but she repeated herself, even more rude this time. Then, completely unnecessarily, she said, "Do you wanna get kicked out?" I was shocked. Moments later, five security guards came over, including one overly aggressive black security guard who literally screamed at me across the section telling me I needed to leave. Another security guard tried to get the story, so I explained what happened, but after I finished, he just said, "Well, I'm gonna side with my homegirl -- the bottle girl." So what was even the point of asking? In the end, even though we had already paid for another bottle that we didn't even drink, we all decided to just leave. Overall, this place is overpriced, pretentious, and offers zero customer service. They don't seem to treat minorities the same, and act like it's some exclusive Vegas or Chicago day club -- but without any of the professionalism or quality. I wouldn't even put my toes in that pool again. To top it off, people were literally walking around the bathroom barefoot. Absolutely one of the worst experiences I've ever had. Save your money and go somewhere else. This place is extremely racist and unsafe on how they treat their guest.

Okay the chlorine water in the pool is questionable but the ambiance and vibes at Maya Dayclub are immaculate. We booked day party tickets the morning of and check in was smooth. Lots of searching of bags at the door and metal detectors (no complaints). Once inside we found the place was crowded but were able to locate some seating near the pool. The music was good, and the crowd was fun. I didn't interact with staff very much but everyone seemed pleasant. Employees we're definitely busy, there was alot of running around on their part. We ordered a few drinks to cool off and the ice melted immediately. During our time there it was 108 degrees outside! I enjoyed the shade and big fans everywhere. Even with the extreme heat I wasn't uncomfortable. I felt really safe here despite the heavy amount of alcohol flowing all over. Security kept a good eye on the crowds, and no one seemed to get out of hand. The pool in my opinion was on the smaller side for the amount of people but still really fun. My only downside really was no lockers or safe place to store your belongings while you're in the pool. Luckily we met a group of girls there and we all took turns watching each others belongings while away. 10/10 - I plan on visiting again when I return to Scottsdale!

Went for a bachelorette pool party in the off season - August and had a blast. We didn't get a table but put all our stuff in a bag on the side of the pool. The music was good and there was shade available in the pool. Keep your card on your so you can get drinks at the bar.

Over $1,000 dirty sections with old furniture Pricey drinks Dirty pool Dirty bathroom If you want people to spend a bunch of their hard earned money, at least let your facility reflect . Both DJs sucked , they needed to let the music ride out. So much mixing you couldn't vibe with it. I would pass

Day party

I had drinks here which were pretty expensive but that's expected in Old town. We also had to pay an entrance fee so that sucks but the atmosphere is cool. And it's a fun environment. If you like day clubs you'll like it.

Where to even begin? Overpriced drinks, no seating at the pool during a pool party and no lockers. I do not recommend.

How long is the wait time usually for the day club around opening (12/1pm)?

We walked in and for a Sunday afternoon, it was pretty empty. However, we thought why not, plenty of game day viewing options with all the TV's. It was decorated cute for Halloween and the bartenders seamed to know most the customers. Appeared to be a regulars bar. We sat down at the bar and ordered drinks. I didn't catch her name but the bartender was very friendly and attentive. Right after the drinks arrived the music started. It was so loud! You could feel the base in your chest! We could hardly hear each other talk over the music. Turns out there was a DJ we didn't notice when we walked into the bar. Now, the DJ's music playlist was great. However, it was so loud and played over all the games except they would pause during one of the games once in a while. I suspect they were trying to draw in a crowd but clearly that was not the way to do it when it's game day and people were obviously there to watch the games. We wanted to try something to eat off the menu but only stayed for a drink and left. It was just a miserable atmosphere with the loud music at 1pm in the afternoon. Lastly, we noticed the receipt had a "venue fee" charge. What is that and why? Why are we paying to sit at a bar? Just be aware of added fees charged to your ticket.

It was my lucky day! Craving for a beer after a stressful day (what else would heal stress better…read morethan a beer? jk!!) and found a street parking spot right outside Goldwater. I took it as a sign. It was meant to be. I immediately sat down, closed my eyes, took a deep breath, and left work behind. The AC came on at the perfect time. I cool down with a cup of water first, and explored the menu. Probably because of my defeated and exhausted look, the bartender came straight to me. I ordered the sour from their rotating menu. I appreciate the attentiveness of her, but also appreciated that she let me be during the visit. Seems like there were some usual guests there, so they were chatting away. I also left with a few cans of beer to-go. I love that they have a fully stocked fridge for the to-go needs!

While it's not in the heart of Old Town, it's within walking distance. We stopped by on a Thursday around 9:30 p.m. While we were on foot, I noticed that they have a parking lot. Ambiance (4/5): Relatively small for a brewery, but your typical chill, brewery vibes. They have some seats at the bar, some high tops, and a small patio. We sat out on the patio since the weather was nice. The seats out there are a bit uncomfortable, but we couldn't pass up on patio weather. They have free water in the corner which is always a plus so you don't have to wait in line. Service (5/5): The bartender working was super nice. It's always appreciated when servers go above and beyond in providing a great experience. He was friendly, efficient, and attentive. I couldn't have asked for more in my service experience at Goldwater. He exceeded my expectations. Food (N/A): I already ate previously so no food for me. There was a Mexican food truck in the parking lot. Drinks (4/5): I love trying local brews. At breweries, I typically get a flight so I can try out a variety of beers. This time though, I went with a pint. I couldn't say no to the Sour Rangers. I grew up watching the Power Rangers, so that was all the motivation I needed. An added bonus was that this beer is a sour. Not something you have every day, nor a style of beer that you come across very often. So I had to take advantage of the opportunity. And it was a good one. Goldwater is my type of place. I'd definitely return the next time I'm in the area!

The "Cluck Around & Find Out" Chicken Strips were delicious- great panko breading. Burgers were a hit. Later they had live music, a guy playing guitar. I Ubered but like most of Old Town Scottsdale, there's plenty of free street parking. You may need to circle around during peak hours, but you'll find a spot. Ambiance (3/5): Pour Decisions is an open air bar, and a pretty expansive one at that. Beyond the open-air area, there's also a spacious patio and a rooftop. I love a good rooftop. With it being Phoenix, when the weather cooperates of course. The aesthetic of the bar was too "Instagram culture" for me with neon witty quotes and such, but some people are into that. Service (2.5/5): It took us about 10 minutes for the bartender to greet us while we were sitting at the bar. It got to the point where we were wondering if anyone was working. Luckily, after a slow start, service was pretty decent after that. Food (N/A): I was on a liquid diet on this visit. Drinks (3/5): The menu matches the vibe. The cocktail list has some pretty fun options, but of the overly sweet variety that lacks sophistication. I couldn't help but order a cocktail that was served in a cowboy boot-shaped glass with a popsicle in it. Fun for the novelty of it but it was a mediocre drink. While I am being a little critical, Pour Decisions has its purpose. If you're looking for a spot to hang out in a big group, Pour Decisions is solid given how large of a space it is.
