Just a few doors down from Kroger, the location is easy to access and find. The bagels are some of the best I have ever had and their breakfast sandwiches are fantastic. I also LOVE that they serve Fante's coffee. Although I haven't tried yet- it appears that the business turns into a chicken lunch/dinner spot in the afternoon? I am looking forward to trying that as well!

Type of Food: NYC-Style Bagels Review: We stopped in to grab some bagels for the family, but overall, it didn't quite hit the mark for us. The menu lists the bagels for $3, but then the schmear is an additional $3 on top of that. We ended up walking out spending around $26 just for four bagels with cream cheese, which feels like a pretty steep premium. Honestly, I can think of a couple of spots in NYC where the exact same order was actually cheaper. As for the food itself, the bagels were okay--not terrible, but everyone in the family thought theirs was just average. Our expectations might have been a little too high going in because so many people compare them to authentic New York bagels, but honestly, I don't think anyone making that comparison has ever actually had a real NYC bagel. It definitely seems to have a solid following as a local favorite, but it just wasn't for us. Cons: The pricing feels steep for what you get--charging $3 for the bagel plus another $3 for schmear pushes a simple four-bagel order to around $26. On top of the price tag, the bagels were just okay and didn't live up to the New York comparisons. Thumbs up / Thumbs down: Thumbs down. It's clearly a go-to spot for locals, but between the price and the average bagels, we probably won't be heading back.

My favorite thing about this store is their participation in this sustainability program. I think normally a dozen bagels is almost $20, so I'm definitely not complaining about my deal. While there, I bought a lunch sandwich. It was good, but not amazing in any way. Ingredients are basic. The bagel is toasted (if requested) but there is no way to heat the sandwich any further. And prices seem a bit extreme: my one sandwich was $11, just turkey and cream cheese. A combo with a drink and chips is $14; a drink and potato or macaroni salad would be $16. I guess my main takeaway is that this place is not meant for everyone. Another reviewer noted that they are cashless, which also shows some privilege. It's good, not amazing. I'll likely only return for TGTG deals. Oh, and one of my dozen was absolutely COATED in salt (see photo, the white one is just salt). Don't know what that's about, but I brushed it all off before eating.

Everything on the King Donuts menu is fantastic. If you order a fruit smoothie or a breakfast sandwich, they make it for you right there on the spot. One piece of advice: if you take home a dozen or a half-dozen donuts, make sure that you refrigerate anything that you don't eat right away. There are virtually NO preservatives in the icings or fillings here, which unfortunately does mean that the donuts won't last at room temperature. However, they do taste great chilled, and they last quite a while in the refrigerator!
