When we returned to order our wedding bands--simple, classic gold bands--we learned Erin was no longer working there. From then on, the service became inconsistent. We were shuffled between different staff members due to scheduling issues, and no one seemed to take ownership of our experience. About 10 days ago, I visited the store intending to order and pay for our bands. I was told they needed to contact a third-party vendor for updated pricing and would call me Monday. I was also told they couldn't take payment over the phone, even though I made it clear I wouldn't be able to return until the weekend due to my work schedule. No one called. So I returned that Saturday, only to be quoted $3,500--up from $2,700 just two weeks prior. That's a 22% increase, and when I asked why, the sales associate, Angela, rolled her eyes and started being disrespectful and condescending giving me the excuse that "the cost of gold goes up." Except--it actually hasn't. In fact, gold prices per oz has declined by about 2.6% over the past two weeks. Her condescending tone made it feel like she assumed we were too ignorant to know better. This kind of treatment was shocking, especially after spending $5,000 with Ben Bridge and returning to spend another $4,000. We ended up walking across the hallway to two other jewelers, received clear, fair quotes in MINUTES --without the attitude or hassles --and made our purchase elsewhere. My advice: avoid Ben Bridge.
