We were there Oct 2025. The lodge is filthy, bathrooms were unhygienic, I had to wear sandals in the shower and I even bleached before using it. Hunted the same area over 3 times. Our guide was unprofessional and couldn't hardly call in anything. His reed needed replaced. read more

Very disappointing first experience with them will be my last forsure. Lack of experience lack of knowledge bad calling and lack of scouting. The birds were there in extreme numbers. 2 out of the 3 hunts we were 500 yards from where we should have been any scouting at all would have told them the birds are on water with it being warm out! Dont waste your time! Plenty of other guides in Kansas that'll put you on birds every time. read more

Guy named graham the OWNER of this guide service came up to us trying to tell us laws on how if youre 33 feet from the center line of the road but if the ditch isnt maintained we couldnt hunt this flooded soybean field so we left called the DNR later in the day and figured out he was wrong and just didnt want us to hunt because he leases the land but the law is if your 33 feet from the centerline of the road and theres water within anyone can legally hunt the water but has too stay in the water. We decided to go back out there the next morning and he came up too us and threatened us that if we sat up in the corner he would come out and put his 15 goose floaters upside down right by us. He proceeded to do so and we called the DNR once again on him for hunter harrassment all while he had his CLIENTS out that paid 825$ too hunt. Was pretty embarrassing for the guy. Doesnt know his laws what so ever and have heard multiple other experiences others have ran into because of him. DO NOT USE read more

Gave this guide service 3 chances, one experience was fun and as advertised back in sept 2020. One experience in Nov 2020 was fun even though the birds didn't cooperate. The final experience was advertised as several thousand decoys (full body/socks/movement) and in 2.5 days of hunting the decoys used were not as advertised. 3-400 full bodies were put out, no socks no vortex and silhouettes were only put out after clients asking why the spread was so small. Owner was very poor communicator and spent more time on his phone posting to Instagram/fb or booking future hunts. I won't be returning and owe it to future hunters to be honest about my experience. Also be aware the owner will pay Google to remove poor reviews so be sure to check out other sources. Also relies on advertising rather than word of mouth. read more

3/10 hunts successful... 30% success rate. Would NOT recommend. 1st time: Went on a ladies trip in the fall & it was a dang good time. Met some ladies that are just great! We were communicated with & knew where we were going. My group 2/3 hunts were successful. The other ladies group with us had 1/3 successful hunts. 2nd time: Was fun, even though things didn't work out in our favor. AM & PM hunts. The birds flew right on over all together at the very end, no shots fired. They had the largest Canadian goose decoy spread any of us had ever hunted over, 400+. This is the day Grant (owner) got us excited to see the massive 1000+ spreads that they hunt over in Kansas. Telling us, "big spreads take lives." 3rd time: Our trip to Kansas was right after the polar vortex, and the Lake Waconda water source was frozen over with locals ice fishing on 8inches+ of ice. Hunt should have been canceled. Communication was poor. We had to ask several times where/when we needed to meet, and it was nearly 10pm when we were given a answer. Not sure why that was hard to communicate when the guys told us they had been hunting that same spot for the last week. There were 3-400 full bodied dirty decoys. Grant later said the ground was frozen & they had to pound them in by hand. 1 sky-blasted snow to show for 5 hunts. That 1-bird will make it 1/5 successful Kansas hunts. Would NOT recommend. Response: This review is true Grant & you know it. 3 successful hunts out of 10, and I am even including that 1-snow goose as a successful hunt. I do vast majority of my hunting on family land, not through guide services. You're the only goose guide I've used. Other guide services I've use are great. Do they always provide 100% success? nope. The accommodations were very good. The guides were very good. ALL the hunts were Canada goose set ups. Absolutely no Specklebelly or snow geese spreads. Maxxed out stresses in their advertisement 2 specks, 6 Canadians and 50 snow geese and all we got everyday was some Canadians. Not one shot at a Specklebelly. Not one shot at a snow goose. Some specks and snow geese were there, but they were ignored. All we wanted was a few specks and many snows and we go none, not one. Very disappointing. read more

Guides seem to not care about the waterfowl hunting. Guides also had a bad attitude and didnt show us any hospitality. Small spreads, stinky lodge, and guides who just want there money. Set up for snow geese with about 5 dozen decoys, witch isnt going to do it for flocks of 80 snows. We hunted canada geese when we all said we wanted to target snows. There were also 250,000 snows in the area. Definitely not going back and cant believe how bad this guide service is ran. Also the guides never had hope for birds to show up. We shot maybe 5 geese in the 5 hunts we went on. Hunting the same fields that were hunted last week!! They try to traffic birds instead of get on the feed. read more

Very nice lodge! But it ended there for me.... If you want to hunt the same time, same place, same spread, same hide, same call, same.... for three days and get the same results of shouldering a gun for maybe one shot a day then this would be okay for you. I paid for an auction hunt to support Delta Waterfowl with this service. I've been from Alaska to Maine hunting with guides who care a lot about great service. The guides at Maxxed Out were no exception...great kids. Even though we had the opportunity on only two ducks and one goose all day....it's called hunting - not shooting. The owner/operator behaved like a child. I paid for two extra friends to accompany me and I mistakenly thought I paid their fees prior to hunting. After we helped gather all the decoys after dark and said our goodbyes- I gave them an extra $200. I traveled back home two hours to find a torrent of text messages from the owner saying he was calling the police on me! No chance for me to remedy the situation- just an ugly threat and a demand to call with my credit card number "in five minutes or else" Who wants to patronize a business that has this guy for an owner/operator. Maybe five years ago this guy was good- according to the reviews- not now- not in my experience. Never again - I'll be taking my business elsewhere. One star for the lodge the hunting sucked we spent 9400. On a hunt for 8 guys. We killed 1 mallard and 4 geese what a big waste of money we had to clean the 5 birds we killed and do our own cooking will never hunt with this over priced under serviced outfit again. read more

Booked a trip last year and was not happy with the outcome. I had several early conversations with the owner about wanting to shoot mallards. I advised I had plenty of goose options back home and instead was put in a stale goose pit resulting two fly by for the morning and zero activity for the afternoon. The next day was on a scratch hunt for pheasants that started at 10 AM and finished at 11:30 . . . that was literally the "morning hunt". With this outfit I got the impressions it was more about the money than the hunt. The place was packed and nobody really looked like they were getting into birds. My suggestion would be to charge a little more, rest the blinds and listen to your clients. If the birds are not in the area, give your client a call and a chance to reschedule. Only reason I give 2 stars is lodge was clean and kitchen worked. Building was tight and warm. (I've stayed in a lot worse where I have had to plug holes in the walls to keep the cold out. read more

Had a great time shooting with Maxxed Out. Killed a lot of geese and the guys were a blast to hang out with. They had a great set-up and are some of the best goose callers I have ever hunted with. I am giving a 3 out 5 for the simple fact that I booked a duck hunt and was taken on a goose hunt. Don't get me wrong, I like shooting geese but if I had wanted to go on a goose hunt, I would have booked one. I would definitely recommended Maxxed Out to anyone trying to go on a goose hunt in Minnesota. However, not a duck a hunt. When you travel 1000 miles to go duck hunting, its just a little bit of a let down when all you hunt is geese. read more

Graham and his team are an amazing group of skilled guides! My friend and I just completed a two-day hunt with Graham, where we hunted ducks the first day and geese the second. Graham and John called in tons of ducks and most of the group limited out. Geese were a bit slower on Sunday, but it wasn't for lack of effort. We still dropped several and had a fun time with our guides. The Maxxed Out team went above and beyond to make sure we had a great hunt and we will definitely be coming back! read more

Used Maxxed Out Guide service two times with no geese. Another guide service that is full of information about the "previous day" but just not on our day. Graham charged us after stating there would no charge on the second hunt. The guide service stated through out the day that this was very unusual. I would not recommend this service read more
