The casino itself was so exciting with a large variety of slot machines and video machines to play at as well as several card tables (poker, blackjack, roulette.) There was staff keeping the machines clean at all times as well has bringing me a drink anytime mine got low. Our room was a double queen and it was quite spacious and very clean. The bathroom was large and clean and came stocked full of fresh towels as well as pleanty of quality soaps and shampoo. I got lunch at the deli and the hamburger they made me was phenomenal. Hand pressed patty with fresh vegetables for toppings. I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel and I will certainly be back next time I come through South Dakota.

This place needs a serious updating to bring it up to more modern standards for décor and health standards. After looking around the room I left to find another place to stay. When I spoke with the owner (same lady as in the am) and told her why we couldn't stay and that I wanted a refund she became angry and stated she would only refund half which was not acceptable to me at all since we hadn't used the rooms in any way. She said that we had been in the rooms for an hour and a half that evening which is completely incorrect since we left the lake access at 8:43pm and I am now standing in front of an angry woman at 9:20pm and this is AFTER driving to the Econolodge to see if they had a vacancy. There are two other motels in the area as well as the Econolodge which on the weekends are booked up during the ice fishing season on Big Stone Lake yet this one always seems to have the "vacancy" sign lit up...and I now know why that is. If in the area, stay at the Vali-Vue Motel or the Econolodge Motel.

They had a regular tub/shower in the bathroom. The whole hotel was very clean with friendly staff. The bed was very comfortable. Controlling the A/C from a thermostat was nice and it worked well. WiFi was good and breakfast ok. The star for me was the hot tub! I didn't want to get out! We were there for two days, so I made sure I got my money's worth. They had a regular hot tub and indoor pool that looked nice, but we didn't use it. I would highly recommend this place and spending a couple more ponies for the jacuzzi room.

Unfortunately, a lot has changed and the place has gone down hill. The room we stayed in, on the main floor, was very run down and smelled nasty. The room was so cold; thermostat set on 87 and still very cold. The shower was lukewarm, never real got hot no matter how long we let it run. The room itself was very dirty. There were food splatters on the lamp shades above the bed, mildew in the coffee maker and bright green gum stuck to the carpet as you walk in. Nasty. I wouldn't recommend staying here. We won't be staying again, not worth it anymore.
