He examined them, confirmed the job could be done then explained the process, showed me the soles and heels he would recommend ( even offered me a choice ) . I also required additional arch support, all work was completed in a couple days. Other repair places stated 2 weeks for soles and heels alone. Cost was reasonable ( all work was less than others soles and heels quotes ) I am extremely satisfied and will be bringing all my leather goods in need of repair and service.

I have to say that shoe repair and leather working is a lost art. I had a pair of nice boots on…read morewhich the soles had come loose. They needed to be re-glued. I brought them in to McCabes to have them repaired. I was a little surprised at the price he quoted ($35 to re-glue the soles) but they were nice boots and still in great shape so I decided to do ahead even at that price. I was then equally surprised that I had to pre-pay for the repair and was told that it would take 2-4 weeks. Now I'm old enough to remember taking shoes to the shoe repair as a kid for this very same reason and usually such a repair would take two days or so. I can remember on more than one occasion sitting in the shoe shop with my socks on while the shoemaker did the repair on the spot. However since he's the only game I didn't have much choice. After 5 weeks (the receipt promised repairs in 2-4 weeks) I stopped by the shop thinking they had lost my number, only to be told they weren't finished and it would be another week. I waited three more weeks and then called to find out what happened to the boots. I was told they would be ready in a couple more days. Indeed after 8 weeks and two days they were finally ready. The job he did seems fine and I'm not upset about the price, although it seemed high. What bothers me is the excessive delay and the failure to even come close to the time frame promised. I would say, prompt delivery in the time frame promised would go a long way to improving customer satisfaction and improving a review.

Okay, so, I gave him a break and took the second purse in because I DID like the new straps. That was EIGHT weeks ago. Today I called, and he said the new straps had not come in yet and he would have to put a tracker on it. Really??? He waited THIS long? No updates for me, no nothing. And I paid up front. I am going to get my purse and money back.

The quality of their workmanship is second to none, whether they are building something new or repairing old shoes.
