Bakery Delights - Roast pork over rice. Great dish, but their veggies are ALWAYS the champion of their dish. (Different veggie each day.)

I've been going to Bakery Delight for over 30 years, ever since I was a little kid and my dad first…read morebrought me there, and it's still one of my favorite spots in Fresno. Over the years, they've continued expanding their menu while still keeping the quality consistently high. I've tried most of what they offer at this point, including many of the newer additions, and I honestly haven't been disappointed. If it's your first time there, I think the must-try items are the steamed barbecue pork bun, sesame balls, rice cake, and the baked barbecue pork bun. Those are classics for a reason. The red bean bun and coconut bun are also both excellent if you want something a little sweeter. For the flaky pastry-style items, the barbecue pork pastry is really good, and they also offer flavors like ube cheese, guava cheese, and pineapple cheese pastries. They also carry different rice cake flavors including pandan and ube, plus red bean mooncakes and other rotating items. One thing I also appreciate is that they offer hot food and roasted meat options beyond just baked goods. They sell barbecue pork by the pound, roasted pork (lechon), roast duck, combo plates with rice and vegetables, fried rice dishes, and more. If you're planning to buy larger quantities for a party or gathering, it's definitely smart to call ahead so they can prepare enough for you. They even offer whole roasted pigs by preorder for large events. The staff that works the front counter speaks English, and they now accept cards, which is a nice upgrade from years ago when it was cash only. Parking is easy since it's located in a strip mall. You may not always get a spot directly in front, but you'll never have trouble finding somewhere nearby to park. They also have a small drink selection with bottled water, Thai tea, coconut water, sodas, and other rotating Asian drinks. Overall, Bakery Delight has been consistently good for decades. If you're looking for quality steamed buns, baked buns, pastries, rice cakes, or roasted meats in Fresno, this place is absolutely worth visiting.

Like pork buns are 3.00 cash and 3.09 credit card. But at least that's an option now. Warmly greeted and helped at the front counter when I walked in. Looks like a traditional Chinese bakery with their decor and set up and heard the front counter lady say their food is more based on the south side of China. Their steam pork buns will always be a favorite. I was lucky enough to walk in when they brought out a fresh new batch so it was still nice and warm when I got home. Dough is sweet and fluffy with their bbq pork filling. For 3.00 a bun, it was quite smaller than I remember. The ratio of the dough and filling was also not as portioned. Some bites you just get the dough. First time having their steam chicken buns and was surprised to see that it was sliced chicken with veggies and a slice boiled egg. This was not it for me. It was like eating a stir fry in a bun. Though this bun was bigger and more portioned than the steam pork buns. This was also my first time trying their Shumai dumplings. The flavor was there. A nice umami flavor. But I was missing the bouncy texture of the meat. And for 4 for 7.00 they were pretty small (compared to the dim sum places). Looking forward to trying other others on their menu now that the menu and signs are easier to see/read.

Still phenomenal…read more I just had to pop in and say how much I love and appreciate how friendly the staff is..... suuuper nice and it's a breath of fresh air. I waited longer than I should have for another visit but I was trying not to go overboard on bread/sweets... was waiting on the text (which they said they would) when Halo-Halo was back and they most certainly did that!!! Granted, it was after I saw an IG post that it was back, but they still went out of their way to text me too-- AND, they were there past closing time (after I got off work) so that my friends and I could go for the goods (Halo-Halo & some baked yums)... thank youuu! The Halo-Halo was perfection.

I came last year to purchase some pastries. See my last review. This time I came in and I had to get the Halo Halo which always looks good. It was something that I've seen at other Filipino establishments. It was really good. It had ube ice cream, another ice cream, and on the bottom I think coconut and some candy or jelly or some sort. But whatever it was, it was so good. The other thing that I got was the Ube brownie. Now this thing was unique in taste and worth coming back for as it's nothing like your average brownie. It had some chew to it but it melted in your mouth. Plus it's purple. Please come try this place out.

Incredibly satisfying baked goods that highlight the art of sourdough baking!…read more We visited Culture Bakehouse at the Vineyard Farmers Market this past Saturday and ordered a pack of their sourdough bagels, slice of coffee cake, morning bun, strawberry scone and a pack of their sourdough chaos cookies. The cookies were a last minute purchase and we were glad we purchased with our eyes because they were the best cookies we have ever eaten! Every ingredient blended well together without it being overly sweet. My husband is a scone fan and we have been on a quest for the best scone in Fresno and so far the strawberry scone from Culture Bakehouse is in the lead! The morning bun was good but missed the mark on the chewy caramelization and orange zest that characterizes a morning bun. The bagels were well executed and I enjoyed them the next day, toasted with a slab of cream cheese and eggs. The coffee cake was also a favorite and not overly sweet. Line was long but moved quickly and staff was friendly and helpful. Definitely worth visiting their stand at the Vineyard Farmers Market!

The restaurant was extremely busy, so I do recommend making reservations ahead of time. The service could have been a little better, but considering how packed it was, it felt more overwhelmed than rude. One thing to know ahead of time: Diet Cokes come in cans, not fountain drinks, so there are no refills. The biggest disappointment for us was the limited menu selection that day. There were mostly sandwiches and not a lot of variety. I ordered the quiche, which ended up needing extra sauces on the side because it felt a little plain on its own. My husband ordered the French toast, and that was actually very good. Ambiance was alright - a little cramped but the live music gave it a touch of class. Overall, I'd still recommend trying this place, just maybe not on a major holiday when the menu is limited and the restaurant is packed. I'd be willing to give it another shot on a normal weekend because I have a feeling the regular menu probably offers a much better experience.
