I found Maxine through Yelp and connected with her through her website. We were looking for a newborn photographer that was local. She was extremely punctual with her emails and provided all the necessary information. It made booking with her very easy. She accepted payments through Venmo or through her website. We informed Maxine that our baby was born within the first 24 hrs and she was able to provide us instructions and gave us an appointment for our photography session. Again her instructions were very clear and it made everything very easy. When we arrived at the studio, Maxine was very professional, she basically took over once we entered the studio and us as very tired new parents were able to just sit on the couch and watch her do her magic. Maxine is also very covid compliant and wore a mask throughout the entire session. She handled our baby so well that I was even shocked that the baby was mine cause the baby was so well behaved! I was looking for a newborn photographer and I found Maxine through Yelp. I contacted her and was lucky to get a spot in the same week. Maxine was great at communication from the start and asked my preference about the colors and the setup for the photoshoot. On the day of our appointment, she messaged me early in the morning about 404 closure and asked me if I'm willing to come next day as it might take us hours due to 405 closure. I was so happy with this because I wasn't prepared to spend hours in the car with newborn and also me sitting for hours in the car right after my delivery. We rescheduled the appointment next day. Her studio was nice and warm for the baby. She took over as soon as I fed my newborn. She was great with my newborn and managed to take so many pics even though my baby is a light sleeper plus more than 14days old. Me and my husband just sat on the couch and saw the process but did nothing. We were so happy that we didn't have to do anything as we were tired and happy to do nothing while sitting on the couch. She sent us a sneak peek photo very next day and I literally cried looking at the pic. It was so beautiful. My newborn looked so content, comfortable and happy. We booked the newborn session and my husband and I were so impressed with the whole experience. The 5 setups were ready when we arrived. Maxine was so easy to work with and her ability to work with our very alert 9 day old newborn was impressive. As instructed we arrived ready to feed him a full meal but even after 3oz and nursing him he was still awake. Maxine took the time to calm and rock him. We gave her our color selection and preference to not take naked baby pictures. She has everything ready, including wraps and little outfits and hats. I had the pleasure of working with this amazing photographer! Her studio is very clean and very cozy. She has a little set up that you can wait in the lounge with tea/coffee and little snacks while the photo shoot of your bundle of joy is debuting. Maxine is such a sweet woman, really felt comfortable with my new born. She cared and handle my newborn as if she was hers. My baby even pooped all over her linens in one of the shoot and she was so gracious about it!! I think she even got some poop on her.., still no complaints! Yuck! Poor Maxine... We had our newborn photos taken by Maxine today, and the photoshoot went amazing!!! It really couldn't have gone any smoother. Our baby girl is a bit of a drama queen, but Maxine was a natural at soothing her. Yes, our baby is feisty and cries at every diaper or outfit change but she managed to get her to fall right back to sleep. Also, her studio is gorgeous. She keeps it very clean, and she set the temperature just right so our baby was not cold during outfit changes. We took our our baby to Maxine's lovely studio for his newborn photography session last October. Motherhood kept me so busy, so this is a belated review of our experience. I am usually really lazy about writing yelp reviews, but I wanted to share my experience and recommend Maxine and her expertise. First off, our baby boy photos came out so beautifully!! We LOVE every single one of the proofs and debated on which ones to frame in our home. Maxine is truly a pro when it comes to handling little newborns. She is so gentle and experienced and knew exactly what to do with our 9-day old little one. She had a whole baby station set up and it was very convenient for me to feed him and change his diapers intermittently. Also, for the majority of the time you are at her studio, Maxine takes care of your baby while taking his photos. She is truly a baby whisperer!! Being a new mom myself, I was still undergoing postpartum recovery and her serene and lovely studio was a perfect getaway to sit and relax while enjoying the perfect music to top the relaxing experience. I highly recommend getting your newborn pictures taken with Maxine. I didn't make arrangements in advance and she managed to squeeze me in right before Christmas when my daughter was 11 days old. My only regret of motherhood thus far is not booking a newborn session with Maxine when I had the chance.
