By day a leisurely stroll around this plaza and you can discover it is framed by a ton of…read morehistorical buildings, as well as restaurants. No worries about traffic since this is a pedestrian zone. Cars have a narrow lane at the outskirts of this place and no access to the actual place. You can access from the city below, or make your way down from the castle and its gardens or come through the Tiergaertnertor itself (Quite a historic tunnel/gate) after which this plaza was named. You could visit the Duerer Haus, a museum dedicated to the city's famous painter and also his former residence. Have a seat at one of the many restaurants, inside or on their patios opening up to the plaza. At night this place is often buzzing, as mostly youth and middle aged folks gather and just sit on the benches and largely just the pavement, drinking beer, cocktails or whatever and just visit with one another. Yes you can drink in public in Germany, you just don't want to be a drunk in public. There is a difference. You can get so call plaza beers or plaza cocktails from most of the surrounding restaurants. You will have to pay a small deposit for the glass (yes, it is real glass , not plastic) and you will get the deposit back when you return the glass unharmed. The huge tree in the middle of it all lights up at night and adds ambiance. You can also see the lit castle up above. It's a nice relaxing peaceful place at any time. Make it a point to have a seat and enjoy your surroundings.

What an amazing festive hotel! We stayed here the weekend the Christkindlesmarkt opened. (FYI:…read morePrices practically triple at this time so beware and plan accordingly.) The Noris Hotel provides superior customer service. If you need anything (Example: Soap, Iron, Ironing Board, Towels) they are quick and prompt to deliver them personally to your room. The room is spotless and very modern looking. Our room had a loft feel. Living area and bathroom below equipped with a mini bar and fridge. The upstairs was a very open plan with a comfortable sleeping area and tv. There was also a balcony that we did not use, but was beautiful to see the snow outside. We did not eat in the restaurant within the hotel, but we did enjoy a pretty good breakfast there our final morning. The bar offers a variety of beverages at night that we enjoyed one evening back after dinner. Staff shower great customer service. We felt so at home at this hotel and the Christmas spirit was really brought to life with their beautiful decor. The hotel is a good 15 minute walk from the city center. It is not bad and as long as you have a warm coat, it is very doable. A taxi ride ranges from 8-15 euros to the center. The only negative thing I can mention is their wifi. Their costs get very expensive for unlimited access daily. Apparently the codes bought can only be used one per device which gets very pricey when you have multiple cellular devices and a laptop. I was disappointed on that aspect, but everything else was a winter land dream getaway. I have also filmed some videos on my travel vlog including many clips from the hotel and around Nuremberg. :) Hopefully this helps you better plan your holidays.
