Amazing clinic. Andy is the best in the business. Addressed some injuries I had from weight lifting and I never felt better

The facilities are well maintained, clean, and equipped with everything needed for a comfortable visit. Whether for fitness, recreation, or social time, the space feels thoughtfully designed. The staff is professional, friendly, and always helpful. The overall environment is welcoming and well organized, making it easy to relax and enjoy your time there. But it does seem a bit elitist, and also I think the fact that it opens at 5:30 can be a bit of a problem, because if you work here at Memorial City and you start at 8, that might be okay as long as you only want a quick workout, but if you work somewhere else in Houston and you start even as late as 9 then good luck getting done with a 2-hour workout and getting to work in time.

Yelpers, you have set me straight so many times- and here is my offering to give back to the…read morecommunity. I love this place. The Villages Gym is the perfect place for everyone from newbies to fitness to gladiators that take on marathons. It has everything you need, but in a smaller, comfortable and clean space that allows you to work hard and feel comfortable doing it. To me, its the "Cheers" feel about it where everyone knows my name and is supportive of my efforts. Getting to the gym is a feat for me, I'm no athlete, and these guys always greet me with smile that is like that inner-high-five feeling. It keeps me coming back. Highly recommend their personal trainers. I see Heather Sholl, but I know they are all good. PS if you are looking for big lights, big city gym with complicated contracts, a pool, climbing wall and squash courts - this isn't for you. If you are looking for support while you do a workout using Pilates equipment, free weights, treadmills, bikes, ellipticals, weight machines, etc and a comfortable place to change and shower, you'll love it. And by the way, if you don't love it, its no big deal because you pay month to month. The owner says they want people there who want to be there - not because they are contractually bound. Yes!

I've been a Lifetime member on and off since 2013, and consistently at this location for the past…read moretwo years. There was a time I truly looked forward to coming here, but lately, that feeling has shifted. Earlier this year (around February or March), there was an incident where a man entered the women's locker room - far enough in that it was clearly not an accident. I reported it immediately to staff, but I never received any follow-up, which felt unsettling, especially given how tucked away the women's locker room is from the men's. Additionally, the equipment at this location feels outdated compared to other clubs. There are frequent maintenance issues, and the overall layout doesn't seem optimized for peak times. If you're hoping to train legs for example between 4-7 PM Monday through Wednesday, be prepared to wait - often long - for machines or platforms etc. Interuptions during your sets are the norm. Even gyms with a significantly lower price point, like EOS and planet fitness, have more versatile equipment (e.g., a dual abductor/adductor machine), which could be a worthwhile upgrade here. Crowding has also become a major issue. Over the past couple of months, the gym has felt consistently packed regardless of the time of day. If there's a new sign-up promotion running, it may be worth re-evaluating how it's impacting existing members. It's incredibly difficult to follow a structured workout when you have to constantly rearrange your routine just to get access to equipment (if you're lucky). Parking has also become a huge deterrent and adds another layer of stress to each visit. The class schedule is not great either, as a yogi, i rarely have the opportunity to attend a class, and wish they had AM sessions available. Pickleball courts are fresh and new, but are first come first serve, and since they have been installed, have not had a chance to use them, due to strenuous wait times. Not to mention the amount of people who walk around with tripods at peak times recording, hence why i pay the fees to not be around people recording.. While I appreciate the under-26 discount, which brings the monthly cost down to around $220, I'm beginning to question whether the value is still there. I would really encourage management to consider updating equipment and rethinking capacity management - especially at peak hours. It's difficult to understand how this location is being ran when other nearby locations offer a much better experience for a similar price point. The one thing they do right is customer experience. I always enjoy getting to speak with the front desk staff and trainers. I really hope this feedback is taken into consideration for improvements, and helps out anyone who is considering spending $3000 a year to work out here.

I found Illuminate…read moreFitness through Instagram when I was thinking I would hire a personal trainer for my wedding next March. I recognized one of the gorgeous personal trainers Jourdan from high school and immediately reached out to her and filled out the intake form. Seeing how in shape she was and her feed really motivated me to pursue this gym. The intake process was relatively quick and I came in for my first session with Jourdan. She showed me a couple of workouts and showed me around both Illuminate Fitness and Illuminate sweat. We sat down and discussed goals and I was so pumped to start this journey. I will say from the first meeting I was so hooked by Jourdans bubbly personality. She is SO freaking sweet. She set me up with my current PT, Kelly who I adore. It's been about five weeks since I've started my meal plan and training with Kelly twice a week as well as attending the group classes four times a week. I've seen so much change in my body and even on the inside (my confidence, self esteem etc) I could literally cry. I was lying to myself before I started coming here eating whatever I wanted and "working out" in a constant cycle of going 110% and then quitting. I was so tired of the BS. This gym has transformed me inside and out. Everyone here is extremely genuine and supportive. I love that I have them to look up to. I love the community feel and how they are always looking out for their clients. I want to give a major shout out to Kelly, Jourdan, Nate, Colby, Emily and the rest of the team for everything you guys do for your clients. You guys really have something amazing going on here and I can't wait to see this business blow up. Y'all are amazing. And may I add I have lost four pounds, four percent body fat and gained about 3 pounds of muscle. I will attach my InBody results to show you, that you can do it to. I'm a nurse who works 3x a week. Once I cut the excuses, the results came. I'm so so happy. Can't wait to see my future results.

But unfortunately we were stopped from going up stairs to the class, this is really odd when the past few weeks when I go to the Zumba classes here I see the little girl with her mom each time. I don't know if it's a gender bias or something? Boys are not encouraged to go to LA Fitness Zumba? I'll take him to the studio classes at Lifetime instead then. We went yesterday and he followed along fine! Not sure why I keep this extra membership. Was hoping to get more Zumba in for me and son...guess maybe don't need to keep it if we can't attend more Zumba classes. Lifetime doesn't have as many Zumba as LA but has better kids care, swim, and pickleball that's unlimited for the whole family including kids. There's also Parents night out Kidcare that runs late for dates or if you wanna work out longer or play more PB. Or the can sit on the PB court also. Gonna be rethinking this LAF membership or just avoid this location.
