It's a small gym but it has all the equipment you need to get a good workout, the 2 owners are really cool people and helpful.

Top-notch facilities and a great atmosphere!!…read more I've had a wonderful experience at Memorial City/Club. The facilities are well maintained, clean, and equipped with everything needed for a comfortable visit. Whether for fitness, recreation, or social time, the space feels thoughtfully designed. The staff is professional, friendly, and always helpful. The overall environment is welcoming and well organized, making it easy to relax and enjoy your time there. Overall, Memorial City/Club delivers quality service and a great experience. I would highly recommend it and look forward to visiting again.

Not to be confused with Memorial City Cub, which is actually a bear. Legit…read more It's a pretty elite Gym which only serves people that work in the area, and it's kinda fancy but also kind of expensive which I suppose makes sense, because if the earnings of the people that work around here are anything to go by, then this is expected to cost a lot. But it does seem a bit elitist, and also I think the fact that it opens at 5:30 can be a bit of a problem, because if you work here at Memorial City and you start at 8, that might be okay as long as you only want a quick workout, but if you work somewhere else in Houston and you start even as late as 9 then good luck getting done with a 2-hour workout and getting to work in time.

I became a member here recently and I can't say I love it. There are so many things that could be…read moreimproved and no one seems like they care enough to do so. The staff is nice enough and the facility is reasonably clean but I can assure you that if there was a better option I would cancel my membership asap. The music is SO loud in the gym that I can hear it over my noise cancelling AirPods with the volume cranked up. I've asked the manager if they'd consider turning it down and he said no. I guess everyone just wants early age hearing loss? The weight area could be so much better. Most of the time people hoard equipment in the corners because key pieces of equipment are missing. There are no belted hip thrust machines and there are no plates lighter than 45lbs that are large width/size like at other gyms. So using the squat racks for things like hip thrusts and deadlifts is impossible unless you can lift a ton of weight. (You know how some gyms have 10/25lb plates that are the same height/width so you can deadlift correctly at a lighter weight??). Anyway, people are forced to used those stackable platform things in the corners to do a lot of work. Also the vibes in the weight room are just off... being a woman in that area is pretty uncomfortable but I can't pinpoint why. The culture in this gym is male dominant (as many are) but something about it is weird. There are often signs on equipment that they will be fixed because there is a great deal of equipment that need repairs. For example, a bunch of treadmills are missing buttons. It's not that impactful but worth noting. Another thing that disgusts me are the "sanitizing stations". There are very few of them, and they're really small mostly dried out wipes that NO ONE uses because they're not plentiful or useful. Overall, you can get a decent workout here. But would I recommend it? No I wouldn't. I go to the gym to work on my health and blow off some steam and I usually leave more irritated due to all of the things I've mentioned. This place has potential but it's certainly not living up to it. I'd love to see some improvements and enjoy my time here but that's not going to happen unless they consider some improvements.

I've never been much of a gym person but after loosing my love for running (I was that actual…read moreperson who ran one marathon and went "yeah this is really terrible") I knew I needed to find a new form of exercise for both my physical health as well as my mental health. Living in the energy corridor I had a lot of different options but I did not want a cookie cutter gym, I wanted somewhere that I could belong, somewhere that I felt the staff would get to know me and not judge me if- and when- I did something wrong. Plus I wanted classes- I LOVE group exercise classes cause I have no idea what to do on my own. So I took my then boyfriend and we went to MAC. We really found it to be a welcoming place. It is not the cheapest around but one thing I have learned is that I would always rather have quality in the things that affect my overall well being. I have made friends at this gym, I have been through Harvey and road construction with this gym and I always felt valued as a member. I've been kept in the loop- they do a fantastic job of hosting different types of events and keeping their social media up to date. And now through what is proving to be one of the most interesting events to happen they continue to show their dedication to members by offering youtube classes and free virtual classes. Every day they are posting and making sure there is something to do and a way to get a workout in even at home. This is far more than a gym but truly also a community and a family.

The staff is always friendly and welcoming, which makes every visit enjoyable. The equipment is in good condition, and while there's plenty to get a solid workout in, I do think they could benefit from adding more machines and equipment--especially for arm training and a larger stretching/mobility area. One thing I really appreciate is the vibe. They play house music, which keeps the energy up without being overwhelming, and the mood lighting gives the gym a modern, motivating feel. The only downside for me is that there's no sauna, which would be a great addition. Overall, it's a great gym that's never excessively crowded, stays consistently clean, and has a positive environment. If they added a few more pieces of equipment and a sauna, it would be close to perfect. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, friendly gym with a great atmosphere.

We went on a Sunday around 2pm, so the gym was relatively empty, which made it easy to move around. The layout of the gym is well designed and spacious, with different areas organized for cardio, strength training, free weights, and machines. They had a wide variety of equipment and everything appeared to be well maintained and in good condition. The gym itself was also very clean, which immediately stood out to me. The locker rooms were surprisingly spacious and well kept, and the staff member at the front desk was polite, welcoming, and helpful from the moment I walked in. Another plus was the amount of parking available. No issues finding a spot unlike some other gyms. Not sure why there are a few less than stellar reviews, but I enjoyed this gym and plan on getting a membership in the future. Overall, this location made a great first impression and I'd definitely come back when in the area.

Also, the other most important thing is that I thoroughly enjoy my / the workouts and people here. I'm constantly being pushed to be and do better but never shunned if I have an off day.
