The loops they jumped through to help me when my company went through mergers, buyouts, and insurance transitions was unexpected but deeply appreciated. Being in tech, I am strong believer on asking the right questions. Being a man, I know the stigma about seeking help (even though I still find it hard to ask for help). The conversations I have had with Dr. Hasán have been immensely helpful to me because the questions she asks have been like tooltips for understanding how to navigate my condition. After several meeting of her asking the same questions to check my status, I started asking them to myself and answering them which is a level of empowerment I didn't know I needed. I was a patient here, on 2/25/2025 I had an appointment video conference, it happened that for some reason I couldn't being here something was wrong with my microphone. I called the office to talk to the Doctor and they refused to put the Doctor on the telephone. I was needed to talk to the Doctor cause my medication is not doing right for me and they refused to come to the phone. My experience with Dr. Hasan was truly a nightmMy experience with Dr. Hasan was truly a nightmare. She was cold, demeaning, impersonal, and unethical in her behavior. I saw her for severe depression and anxiety stemming from the recent loss of twin boys. She rushed through the initial intake appointment, asking questions about my symptoms in rapid-fire fashion, not allowing me time to even comprehend what she was asking. She didn't let me talk unless it was a yes, no, or short/simple answer to whatever she was asking. When I attempted to ask clarifying questions to get more context or expand on any answer, she would cut me off and move on through additional lists of symptoms before I even had time to answer. I have serious apprehension about beginning use of antidepressant and anxiety medications, and I had several questions and concerns I was looking to have addressed. She asked me what "stressors" I am experiencing, and when I mentioned the loss of my twin boys, she said "that was the event, not a stressor". When I then mentioned the loss of motivation and joy, the loss of sleep, and the immense grief and sadness I am experiencing, she said "those are symptoms, not stressors, do you actually have any stressors?" She was sharp, cold, condescending and unable to show empathy throughout the appointment, and continued to giggle to herself and smirk when I was talking through the struggles I have experienced over the past six months. Her check-the-box style questioning lasted about 20 minutes before she asked if I had any questions. When I brought up the details of my reservations and concerns with utilizing medication, Dr. Hasan laughed at my questions, repeatedly stating "the medications are safe you have nothing to worry about and your concerns are unfounded. If you're not comfortable with medication then what do you expect me to help you with today?" It was evident that Dr. Hasan's MO is about blindly prescribing medications after a series of rote questioning (somehow without even receiving answers to the grand majority of her questions) and collecting her $300 fee after 25 minutes of berating her patients. As a mental health provider, Dr. Hasan should have an obligation to seek to improve the lives of each patient she sees. I walked out of her office in total despair, feeling vulnerable and having had my concerns invalidated. If you are seeking professional care and attention, go elsewhere, as Dr. Hasan is clearly unethical, lacks any ounce of compassion, and has greatly missed the mark as a healthcare provider. read more

Dr. Hasan was a breath of fresh air. She was very intentional when discussing my medication options. She recommended one medication but when I told her about my lack of appetite she recommended another that could help with my symptoms AND my appetite. She was also very empathetic and kind when I told her about what brought me in to her office. I truly appreciate her. The office staff was very helpful when my insurance changed and I needed to update my information. Very warm and patient with me, always greeting me when I come in. Ironically, i read the positive & negative reviews before my appointment & i still went in with an open mind. this was my first psychiatrist appointment. View my experience below with Dr. H: ----- EXAMPLES OF UNCOMFORTABLY: - made eye contact with me probably 3 times - asked a question, typed on computer, asked next question (did not go more in depth with my answers or ask follow up questions). - i rated my depression on the high side from a scale of 1-10. but i don't have thoughts of self harm. after i told her my number, she looked at me & said "but you don't want to harm yourself? you know 10 is the high number right?". ------ EXAMPLES OF POOR ACTIVE LISTENING: - asked why im there & i say for insomnia. i then go on and describe my insomnia (sleep disorder) symptoms and how it affects me. she types. she clicks onto the next page. she reads her next question and says, "so how is your sleep?". - asked about 5 times if I have seen a psychiatrist and my answer never changed - informed her one of my struggles in money. later she tells me that i can either be put on medication or pay $300 for a gene test. i said no because i cannot afford that. she did not stop talking about the gene test after that. ----- those who have given good ratings i am jealous, because that was the worst and most uncomfortable experience i ever had. i told my PCP to not refer patients to her office anymore. read more

The absolute worse office I have ever dealt with. The staff have no concern whatsoever for patients coming in for help. They truly do not care about the patient just want the money, they do not offer any options for paying, very cold atmosphere. I would not recommend this office for someone seeking help. Rude staff. As far as the counseling is concerned that helps somewhat to offset the rudeness at the front desk. I was so relieved when my therapist left their practice. I don't have an issue with Dr. Hasán. The issue is with the staff. They were fine and then all of a sudden the last couple visits they became rude and condescending. I don't appreciate being talked down to. I'm not a child and I won't tolerate rude behavior no matter who you are or think you are. You can't bully me into seeing someone I don't want to see or am not comfortable seeing esp if my treatment plan changes and they weren't made aware to me. I've seen 3-4 different people since going to this place. I am not comfortable going from person to person and having to say the same things over and over to different people. And to be told that it's either that way or find someone else, I would rather go somewhere else. A patient should be able to choose their provider and not feel pressured. Dr. Hasan is impressively rude. When the drug company that made my medication released an ad stating that it can cause weight gain, I asked her about it. She told me "the only thing that causes weight gain is eating." If you want a doctor who blindly writes prescriptions while insulting you, this is the practice for you. Dr. Hassan is a potentially dangerous doctor. She asks questions repeatedly without listening to the answers. She continuously tells me to stop smoking weed despite me telling her I don't smoke weed. She's rude, cold. Doesn't know my name after multiple appointments At the end of my appointment I asked Dr. Hassan if I could call to schedule my next appointment. She said that they cannot do that because if I go home and KILL MYSELF they won't know and are liable for it(not sure what that has to do with my appointment). I hope to God she does not say these kind of things to potentially suicidal patients. read more

The services at Max Psychiatry are excellent greatly because of the variety of people on the team. Dr. Hasan is extremely skilled at managing medication, and Kristi, my therapist, has been very effective in helping me through emotional work. The balance of help I get from these folks has helped me through great emotional stress over the past ~5 years. Their transition to Telehealth online consultations has been very smooth and provides me great support, especially when I need it during these strange COVID times. I strongly recommend the team at Max Psychiatry, especially the team support of meds from Dr. Hasan and deep dive emotional work with Kristi. After going here for a couple of years, I've seen that Virginia Tysinger, Mrs. Martin, and Melissa at the front desk are all wonderful and nice! Dr. Hasan does not have a warm vibe to her... mainly cold. She has made rude remarks about my appearance and weight on multiple occasions. Most recently due to COVID I have been unsure how I was going to pay for my appointments so I have contacted them to cancel... they never called me back but instead sent me a letter stating if I do not schedule within 30 days they are dropping me as a patient. I have never been treated this way and personally work in a medical office where we would never threaten or kick patients out of our practice. read more

DO NOT COME HERE!!! Dr. Hassan is not qualified. She asks me to pick my own medication like I was the psychiatrist... She also made me come in KNOWING I had COVID and if I didn't I would have been charged 50 dollars. Without telling me she could no longer renew my prescription/be my psychiatrist while I was away at school, I had to call & find out when my medication was almost finished. I have had a wonderful experience with Dr. Hasan and her excellent staff. I went into my first appointment with a very specific idea of what I needed, and after a very open discussion Dr. Hasan gave me some very direct feedback and recommendations. These are difficult conversations to have- and I have seen some negative reviews where this approach may rub people the wrong way. For me, it was a diagnosis that I needed to hear, even if I did not want to. I begrudgingly decided to give the treatment a try, and it has just changed everything for me. The woman who I spoke with was incredibly unprofessional, it was like I called her personal phone number instead of an actual office. My only concern was why am I being notified so late after waiting so long for an appointment. Office is very clean, relaxing and inviting... at least as much as a medical office can be. Office staff, are professional and attentive. They go about their task quickly and truly seem to understand their roles. Only issue, and it's not their fault, is its difficult to maintain privacy. However, I stress this isn't the fault of anyone as it's just a function of the office design. However, due to the profficency of the office staff this is minimized and truly not a huge issue/concern. Just something to be mindful of. Physician is very profficency and professional. She's nice, interactive and responsive. I find her to be a great listener and one who seems to care about me. Certainly she's knowledgeable and understanding and to me those are my two biggest concerns. In the end, I highly recommend the practice and feel it's one that can offer the support that's so needed in today's healthcare environment. I'm glad that I am seeing from some of these other reviews that I am not alone in feeling that Dr. Hasan was a nightmare. She asked me if I had ever been sexually or physically abused, and when I told her that I had, she asked me to describe what happened. This was within 10 minutes of meeting her, maybe I'm not ready to open up yet about describing what happened to me, but I took a breath and described what happened. I was already rattled, describing my sexual assault to a stranger, and she looked shocked and said, "What?! Why would they do that??" which, of course, just made me feel HORRIBLE and embarrassed. She asked me if I had ever been depressed in the past, and I said yes, a few years ago I had long periods of hopelessness and inability to get out of bed for days, and she said, "That's not depression. Depression is a feeling of prolonged sadness. Were you sad? Did you stop getting joy out of your favorite things?" Excuse me, you're trying to say that being unable to get out of bed for days because I thought my life was hopeless is NOT depression? Huh? She also didn't listen to me at all and kept asking questions that I had already told her the answers to. She morally berated me about several answers and just made me feel terrible about myself. I could list so many other unprofessional things that she said that I just couldn't believe. I was stunned. I finally told her that the last time I had tried an anti anxiety med, that I had terrible reaction to it, mentally, so I was very reticent to try similar medications. She INSISTED that I need to get on Zoloft, and then sent me out of her office literally sobbing because she had been so horrible to me the whole time. I was very lucky to have Dr. Hasan be the very first doctor I looked up and called when moving to the area: I could not have found a more supportive and talented doctor if I'd gotten personal recommendations first. Finding someone in this particular medical specialty that you feel friendly and comfortable with and that you trust implicitly is a high bar ask in the days when patients are rarely more than a cog in the wheel of medicine. But with Dr. Hasan, you will feel understood, listened to, cared for, not judged, and met where you are. I cannot speak highly enough of her and her staff, including her team of NPs, therapists, and administrators. It is rare and valuable now to be able to walk into any doctor's office and be greeted by name, and have everyone ask after your family. Their support during an incredibly difficult and prolonged treatment was critical to me being able to remain high-functioning as the mother of a baby with a now-resolved medical condition so rare and so often fatal that we were in constant fear of every next moment. And that they kept me able to balance the long, hard days in the hospital while working full time to ensure we kept our insurance AND being there for my child... they are priceless to me. I would strongly recommend them to anyone. Because of my experience with them, I wonder if prior reviews that have mentioned lesser experiences are posted before really spending more than a visit or two with the practitioner or her staff. I saw dr Hassan a few years ago. At the time I was dependent on atavan an anti anxiety medication. She told me the best way to get off of them was to enter a drug rehab facility. So I did for one week. They said to fully get off of them I would need out patient therapy to continue weening off of them. So contacted her office and she would not see me. I do not usually do reviews, but I wish I had read the reviews earlier than an hour before my appointment. All the negative reviews about this doctor were right. She does not come off as a nice woman. The reason I chose this office was because I needed immediate help and I'm new to the area. There office was the fastest one to get back in touch with me and schedule and appointment quickly. The doctor and I used the video chat because of the whole covid-19. Dr. Hasan seemed to keep getting aggravated with me when she couldn't hear me or see me clearly. She was asking a lot of questions which is normal when seeing a new doctor. When I go to explain my situation, she made me feel like I was dumb and didn't understand my own situation that I have been dealing with since 5th grade and I'm now 26. After the session was almost over, she didn't really give me an option to opt out of "counseling/therapy" just kind of said well you are going to do this next and scheduled the appointment. She was very cold and not compassionate for a doctor practicing psychiatry.
