I'm so glad I chose this place! Visiting Monrovia and forgot my supplements at home. The owner Brett is friendly and knowledgeable. I needed some guidance with his line that are a little different than my store and what I'm used to out of state. He was very patient and provided clear solutions to my needs. He's been there several years and his customer service shows it. I'm confident clicking 5 stars!! read more

Great, convenient nutrition store next to the 24 hour fitness. The owner is a super nice guy. A little bit of everything for whatever you're looking for. I like the variety of canned pre-workout drinks they have. You can also start a membership stamp card that will get you some discounts. Worth checking out and supporting a local business :) read more

Looking for that extra edge on the competition? Are you stuck with the same gains and plateauing? You have come to the right place to get you out of that rut. These guys carry a copious amount of different products the regular stores don't. That's what sets these guys apart from the rest of the pack. Cutting edge products that deliver results if you work them right. And if you're just starting out, they have this covered with sugar cravers like protein pudding and pizzas just to name a few. So wether you're just in the beginning phase or a well seasoned vet there's a little something for everyone. Another great thing about these guys is that they don't push products on you that they have to sell like their competitors. Great one stop shop for supplements and service you expect from a non corporate store. And that's my final take on this supplement merchant,Peace. read more

There are a few things I want to mention. Be aware of the EXPIRATION date on the products. I notice many of the sport drinks are almost a YEAR expired. I mentioned it to the kid at the front desk and he said "okay cool I'll take care of it thanks" but then! I go back a week later and they are STILL! There. So to be cautious I suggest everyone pay close attention to the exp date. As I asked to look at a product that's a "SARM" As you look on the back of the bottle it says NOT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION. Now I'm not fitness expert but if a label is saying that why would a shop sell it! I gave them a 2 star because they did have some pretty good pre workouts I'll give them that. I hope this helps future shoppers to just read what you're getting and check the exp date. read more

This is easily the best supplement store I've ever been to. I've been lifting weights for 20 years and been to a lot of stores, there's no place I'd rather give me business to! Brett Kemp is HIGHLY knowledgeable, and if you go in there with a vague idea of what you want, Brett will point you in the right direction. He'll educate you, and doesn't even have to look at the labels to know what he's giving you. So many times he just hands me a bottle and tells me exactly how many to take and when, then I check the bottle and it's exactly what he said! I not only love to shop here, I love to chat with Brett as well. I always walk out of there with more knowledge then when I walked in. You will too! read more

Owner is very knowledgeable of the product he carries and a real nice guy. His prices are very reasonable and the selection is great. If you want to support a small business this is a good one. its been around for many years for a reason. read more

Can't believe I've been going to this shop for almost 20 years! It's been a while since I've been there because of the coronavirus but Brent is still a great guy and always point me in the right direction, I forgot how good it feels to take the right supplements to achieve your fitness goals. Everybody is different, and their goals are also different Brent will get you on the path to what you want to achieve faster. Thanks buddy great to see you! read more

Best selection and prices. I moved from Monrovia to Scottsdale and I still call Bret for my products. Even with shipping, he's still better priced. Got questions? They're knowledgeable and helpful! Support this shop for sure especially during these ridiculously over-controlled covid times. Get in there, get your stuff, and keep working out. Be healthy to be safe! read more

Best shop around. Good variety of protein and pre workout. Staff is outstanding and super friendly. Price is great as well. Not too sure if I was talking to the owner or just a worker but he was straight to the point and extremely knowledgeable about all his products. I'm not the most knowledgeable when it comes to pre workouts and stuff but he answered all my questions quickly and clearly. Definitely coming back. read more

I've been going here for years. I am always satisfied with the help from my questions. Great products and excellent service for the community. GNC is way to corporate and takes away the personal relationship with myself as a customer. I've come to know Brett and other staff, that I wouldn't go anywhere else. Plus Brett always gives me reasonably priced deal for my loyalty. Something you won't find at GNC without a membership. Even with, it's ridiculous marketing. For me a turn off... Anyway for the guy's at Max Muscles. Well those are my boys!!! Highly recommended to all mankind. =) read more

Great shop! We live in Glendora and drive over to Monrovia for our supplements - Brett is a stand-up guy and always gives great advice. I am not worried about a "salesmen" pitching my teenage son to buy product that he shouldn't be taking in his teen years. Lots of varieties and Brett always takes the time to understand your needs before offering advice. I also like the fact that he is very involved with all of his venders and they listen to his feedback and have made changes. This is our ONLY choice spot for supplements! read more

Let's make this simple. I've been to many different supplement stores because of many different reasons, but if I ever move or change gyms I will still make the trip to come to this store. At one point I tried to get in the business of selling supplement but it's too overwhelming. Before that I had to research whatever I bought because typically people don't really know what they are selling or who they are selling it too. The owner, Brett, will ask you the right questions to put you on the right path. Everything I have ever bought from him has done exactly what he said it would...no b.s. On top of that this store is absolutely better priced then any other store I've ever been to. If you are going to buy anything, stop by, tell him what you are looking to do, buy what he says and you will be back. read more

Great store has Everything friendly staff very knowledgeable. Good prices. Will definitely be back for More

Hard work , dedication AND proper supplementation will help you attain your fitness goals ! So if you're in the area and want great prices on quality supplements , stop by and see Bret! Brett the owner is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and makes sure you leave his store happy and fully informed on which ever products you buy. He really takes his time in explaining the science behind his products, so you feel 100% confident about your purchase and doesn't not just push products on you that don't work for your goals. He truly cares about his customers and their well being. I highly recommend this shop to anyone that is serious about reaching their fitness goals. I live in Irvine and I have no problem making the drive to his store for my supplements even though I can call and have them shipped to me. read more

I've been a customer at this store probably going on 6 years now. Brett and his entire staff have been incredible from day one. I highly recommend the Monrovia location, or the Pasadena location, both are top notch, with a great array of products. If you're new to fitness and supplements, don't be intimidated, Brett and his staff will happily guide you through the store, and allow you to make the final decisions on what you want to walk out with. No pressure. It will only take on me visit, and you'll be back. read more

I just had the worst experience ever! Last week I came to max muscle store to buy protein powder for my shakes. The guy at the counter guaranteed me that I would love the flavor. I asked him if he had samples (Because I was hesitant to buy something that I may not like, Especially when it's so expensive) he told me that he didn't, he also told me that I can return it if I didn't like the flavor and said that he would drink the returned item himself himself. Today I went back to return the item because I didn't like the flavor. The same guy was there and became very rude with me saying that this was the first time in 12 years that someone didn't like the flavor. He the said "so what do you want" I let him know that I wanted a refund. He then let me know that the store doesn't make refunds only exchanges. I attempted to remind him of our last interaction and let him know that he offered to return the product and drink the product himself because he loved the product so much. He then started yelling at me saying that he wouldn't return the product only exchange it for something else. I let him know that I didn't want to buy any more products from the store and requested that he return the amount that was due. After going back and forth for a few minutes he then agreed to return the cost -5 dollars because the credit card company charges him... supposedly. I agree to this not wanting to continue arguing back and forth. He then changed his mind and said that he wasn't going to return anything and said that this is what's wrong with America nowadays people like me even accuse me of doing this frequently! then asked me why didn't bother to ask for a sample! I then let him know that I did ask for sample! He then said why would I give you a sample when I can sell you the product. After going back and forth again he ended up returning the cost of the product but instead of returning the amount he "accidentally" charged me for the same product all over again. I asked him if he was going reimburse me twice, his response was "if you continue to talk I'll make more mistakes and charge you more" I couldn't believe it! After he gave me my receipts I grabbed my things and got the heck out of there. A few minutes later I realized that he hadn't given me back my debit card so I had to turn around and go back in there. When I walked in there he was on the phone and completely ignored me I stood there patiently for a couple of seconds and then I asked him if he had my debit card. He denied having it I got the feeling that he either he either had it himself or threw it in the shredder that was sitting behind him. I cut my losses and got out of there. Needless to say I will never be returning there again. I had to call my bank cancel my card and make sure that he adequately refunds the amount which will take 15 days to figure out whether not he did. read more

OK, I don't go here for the nutritional/dietary services. I go here because they have the cheapest tanning memberships in the world, and that makes me very happy! In the Arcadia Quarterly, there was a coupon for $45- unlimited tanning for two months. So, WOO HOO! The guy who's always at the counter is very nice and laid back, and I'm sure he sees me more often than he sees his family, which kind of embarrasses me, but I think I can live with that. read more

I have been coming to this shop for years. The service Brett and his team provide is amazing. Their product knowledge as well as helpful hints in the gym are great to take in. The products they carry are effective when used properly! The accessories and clothing line are great.... But the authenticity of this shop is what keeps me coming back! Try the adrenolyn bulk and the grass fed protein. That's my usual purchase. read more
