My chocolate lover friend and I used to frequent the old Max Brenner in Greenbelt, when the restaurant interiors were more soft-lit and intimate. Then I heard they closed and re-opened, with a new look to their interiors.
We saw the Trinoma branch and decided to give it a try. The restaurant interiors definitely looked different - from dimly lit and intimate, it became bright, and with fun artworks that looked more suited for a family diner. The new Max Brenner is for the family, from what I could see.
My favorite item on the menu, the chocolate soup (yes, the one that really gave me chocolate highs before), is gone, but I'm glad they still have Suckao, that very rich and decadent chocolate you need to prepare yourself with the heat of tealight candles. And then, you suck it, yes. They also still have the other classic hot chocolate drinks. And they have more savory meals on their menu now.
I still like the menu, but not as much, as the chocolate choices have been trimmed down, and the restaurant interiors are not as appealing anymore for me, though I suppose it's great for family lunches, with chocolate as dessert. read more
