However, within days, P&P completely ignored that court negotiation and issued a NEW eviction notice with a completely different date and different Index Number! No explanation whatsoever. They did not communicate with the landlord (their client) what took place in court and now the landlord does not believe/is unaware of the negotiated date and claims the only court date is the one created solely by P&P. Let me say that again: Pappas & Pappas ignored the negotiated date made with the court, failed to communicate to their client, and issued a second court date to me, the tenant, with no explanation. This move is clearly an attempt to undermine the legal system and cause confusion, frustration, and burden to the tenant. Please be aware of this ethically compromised business.

Pappas & Pappas represent my landlord, MAL Realty Corp., and P&P is inefficient and often skew simple facts (they even misspelled their clients name!) P&P sent me a couple letters among them threatening eviction, but as advised by DHCR, their threats were unfounded and illegal. I was also advised by the City that Pappas represents several sketchy landlords on the Astoria area and many harassment cases against Astoria landlords who do not honor the law are represented by Pappas. What got me is that she stated no attorney knows the price of what they charge for a breakdown of court expenses which is complete BULL! I had emailed them 3-5 times regarding this and they left me hanging and blowed me off so they could makeup numbers and transactions for court to benefit themselves- they added two court reporter fees and two mediation court fees- we only went to mediation once and that was on Sept 27th for 2 hrs the second court reporter fee I'm also disputing since I never was advised of a court reporter nor did I receive a transcript unlike I did for the disposition. Gladys don't insult people's intelligence your not my first rodeo retaining a law firm- I've hired at least 2-3 personal injury lawyers in NY and they've never ADDED so many multiple made up charges regarding court expenses and legal services nor did the others verify through Medicare/medicaid regarding outstanding liens- it's just your law firm because you look at ways to pay your client less money since you have some sort of agreement with Medicare/medcaid. Even the other personal injury lawyers I had hired in the past "the attorneys themselves knew how much the court expenses were and legal services amount to because they sent them to me not the paralegal." Also Michael Warycha lost a document I had gave them and contacted me back to re-send it. From the beginning of retaining this law firm to the end after a settlement was obtained HUGE MISTAKE staying with this firm- I don't think this is good way to finish a job with a client.

The attorney said he was able to work on it even without the NJ bar. I was like okay since my case was very straight forward. After a month since we started the case, I haven't heard any progress and my ex was rushing me everyday. I decided to send Leon an email. After a few weeks past, I didn't hear back from him and then I called the office. The receptionist, who picked up my call, sounded clueless. She asked me to spell my name at least 5 times and I felt that she was very annoyed with my long last name. I asked her to let Leon know to reply my call or email. However, I never got the response. A week later, I decided to switch the attorney and then finally I heard back from Leon. And he added some statements in the drafted settlement document from the opponent attorney, which didn't apply anymore. It costed me almost $1000. I am very disappointed that a almost 5 star attorney on Yelp provided a 1 star service to me. The divorce process was already depressing and this didn't help at all. Please stay away from this place.
