The guys are pretty chill. The wait time is ridiculous so be prepared. They're honest and will try and sell you more services you might need but if you decline then that's it they don't push. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. I ordered tires online and scheduled an appointment online. Saturday comes and the 'tire truck' had not arrived yet. Told me to come back in 2 hours. Two hours later I go back and still no tire truck. Go back on Sunday and was good to go. Pick up 2-3 hours later. Red flag #1, the tpms light was on. Check the tire pressure tires were inflated to 60 psi. Tire states not to inflate over 40 psi. Drive the car all week. Saturday comes and I decide to tighten the lug nuts as suggested on the bill. Good until I get to the last wheel and 2 log nuts are just spinning. Took car to the place I bought it. They replaced all 5 studs and lug nuts. Un-buh-fricken-levable. Went in to get a flat fixed. While waiting the manager and one of the employees get into a verbal argument that ended up becoming physical. The employee then pushed the manager over (manager I'm guessing was in their 60s) and he fell to the ground. Not sure what caused everything to get so heated but I've never wanted to leave a place so fast. I took my car in for new tires, an alignment and an oil change on 12/24/22 at the Mount Pocono shop. I paid and took my car home. When I got home, I checked my oil level, as I tend to do when I have it changed. That is when I noticed that they did not complete the oil change. The oil level was low and it was completely black. I also noticed that the oil filter on the car was the same exact one I had put on back in October when a different shop changed my oil. I reached out to customer service and they put in me in contact with Kevin Russell, regional manager for Mavis. After a brief exchange, Kevin requested that I have the other shop do the oil change and to forward the invoice to him. This is where things took a turn for the worse. I brought the car to another shop on 12/31/22 for an oil change and to have the new tires balanced due to excessive vibrations. As soon as the vehicle is on the lift, the technician brings me into the service bay. He shows me how Mavis performed the alignment incorrectly as evidenced by several loose nuts and bolts, and broken cotter pins. According to the technician, this is why I was experiencing excessive vibrations when operating the vehicle and he further advised that I was fortunate that none of the bolts sheared off while driving as that would have resulted in a catastrophic accident. All of this was documented on the invoice. I forward the invoice to Kevin Russell via email and also left him a message. This went unanswered. I called Kevin this morning and was immediately sent to voicemail. So, I reached out to the customer support department and advised them of the situation. They informed me that my service ticket would be forwarded to a different manager and he would reach out to me today. I had a missed call on my phone and when I called it back, I was able to leave a message for the new manager assigned to my case, David. As of this afternoon, I have not had further contact from Mavis customer support or either of the regional managers. I am livid to say the least and am left without a vehicle as it is not in safe operating condition. read more

Got a flat tire on a road trip. We go and wait a bit because they were busy. After about 30 min, they identified the issue with the tire and decided to use our spare. Our spare key wouldn't open so they had to cut open the key hole. They went out of their way to solve our issue and after the whole ordeal decided to not charge us! I went for a state inspection but they didn't have any stickers. They inspected my car and Xavier, the person working the counter, told me he would call me when they got them. He never called so I stopped by. At this point, all I needed was for them to put the sticker on my windshield. They insisted on inspecting my car again, even though they did it already. I didn't have the time to sit for another inspection & all I wanted was the inspection sticker I already paid for. I went someplace to get an inspection. Terrible customer service. I have appointment for state inspection.... The mechanic took my car for a drive came back to Mavis bay.... Went into fourth bay and place vehicle on lift... in 15 mins I get the sorry we can't bring your car down. But we can arrange a rental car. Are you kidding in a matter of 15mins I without a car and still waiting for hydraulic mechanic to come repair. It's 3 hrs now and still waiting. Incredible and inspection not done yet..I am still here waiting... Updated: since being advise of possible hydraulic mechanic at 10:30am coming...the mechanic assigned to my car just happen to have a family member that works at enterprise car rental....I am still here waiting.... Now at 12:45 Xavier advise mechanic called and will be here in a hour... My appointment for inspection 0900... I have been here for a total 4hours now and still waiting..... finally mechanic for hydraulic shows up at 2:45 car is down... but inspection still need to be finished... by 3:24 pm done... read more

Recommend you avoid this place if you are a woman. They lied and said the right tire would be delivered, but whoops - the delivery truck broke down and I was out of luck. Two male workers then refused to give me a tire that would enable me to drive 90 miles to my home. But when my husband called and asked them to do it, they agreed. A female worker defended "her guys", but she was not a witness to the conversation. Luckily for me, a tow truck arrived and I stopped whatever work they were doing. Stay away from these mansplainers. I have been going to STS and Mavis at this location for many years and have had wonderful experiences. Colby the manager, is smart, fair, helpful and very easy to work with. For the past two years I have had a great relationship with him and his team there however I just learned this weekend that Colby is unfortunately no longer there and the new manager, Clint took over and is clearly no Colby. He is not very friendly and appears to only be concerned about squeezing every dollar out of each customer. I see the attitude of the workers has changed drastically and although I have always bought my tires there and have always had free rotation, balancing and repair, Clint now tells me I have to pay $14.95 to plug a tiny hole in my tire that I bought there. At the same visit, I asked them to change my two bulbs for my fog lights. Clint hold me each bulb would be $59 plus installation and that no one in the area had them. I couldn't believe 2 tiny auto bulbs could cost that much so I told him not to order them. I then went down the road a few miles to National Auto and bought both bulbs for a total cost of $25 and installed them myself. I have no idea why Colby had to leave and why Mavis chose to put someone like Clint in charge, however now I must find a new repair shop in the Poconos. read more

I had a broken alternator and was able to still drive and drop my car to them, there was a storm coming and only few hours before closing so the guy said there is no way they can fix it even for tomorrow which I completely understood, I asked for a quote and left the car. Then I got a call 3 days later that while fixing the alternator the other components broke so the price bloomed to $800+, since I don't have a choice I obliged. It was winter when this incident happened, took the car and drove away with no issues. Then came summer, no AC was working, so I brought my car to my mechanic and stated that the last work done was the alternator. He called me and said that when they worked on the alternator, but they removed wires including AC, some wires not connected and never placed them back, my mechanic has to obtain the schematics and car manuals to put them all back again. It finally cost me $450 because some of the wires melted when it came contact to the heated parts of the engine, need to get some OEM parts.i am thankful for Mavis that did fix a part of my car and I agreed to pay that enormous amount that they were asking but , you must do it right, is it because my plate is NJ you are thinking I may not visit the area again. read more

Then when we voiced our displeasure and asked to try to make it right by working a deal with more expensive tires (because those came in the right size!), we were told by the assistant manager, Brian, to take our keys, our vehicle and our business elsewhere!! We then went down the road to Jack Williams, got treated with the utmost respect and even though we had to pay more, it was so worth it!! Just left this shop and forgot to ask the managers name and the guy who assisted him, but just terrific people! My car was leaking oil, the check engine light had just lit up and I had a crying 7 year old in the car. I was hoping to just drop it off and would come by the next morning when they were opened, but they insisted on taking the car then and helping me out.
