I have had good experiences here in the past... but because of what I experienced today I will never go back. I sent my car in for an oil change. I made an appointment for 10am. At 3:30 pm they called and said my car was done but I should know that I need to replace all 4 tires, all 4 shocks and breaks. Interesting since I bought new tires and shock from them in March. When I mentioned this and my warranty all of a sudden the narrative changed and the once greasily charismatic service professionals demeanor changed. He couldn't give me specifics on why the tires needed to be changed. Then it went to 2 tires, then became of well they have 30% ware because you didn't rotate your tires. Well my car has an automatic sensor based on mileage and I was able to confirm with the tech that not only did my car not reach the mileage for a rotation or alignment change, the initial issue he said was wrong with my tires would have been as a result of faltering shocks which they replaced in March. Additionally they charged me over double what I have payed in the past with them for an oil change citing a 30% increase in oil price. Why then a 60% price increase for this service? After I called this out the price lowered to only exactly double... If you are going to try to play someone by upcharging them for unnecessary services at least check that you wouldn't be liable kids. Never going back and you shouldn't either. read more

I bought tires from here in 2020. They were 75,000 mile tires. Since I work from home I only drove about 12,000 miles a year. I noticed that my tread on my tires was already getting low. After taking a closer look the tread is gone and the wires inside are showing. I found my receipt and I did purchase a warranty with the tires and I have driven 26,000 miles, or about 1/3 what they should last. In the end Mavis did nothing. They told me I could get new tires for full price. I asked if they would at least prorate them and the answer was no. So I took my car down the street and gave my business to someone else. I had to go to Mavis because my tire pressure in my one tire kept dropping. I dropped my car off in the morning and picked it up around 3pm the same day. Super friendly staff and super helpful. I was also expecting to pay at least $100 for the fix (I had a leaky stem) ended up paying a fraction of the cost. Will definitely be back if need be. read more

I called and got a quote for my tires, was told it would take tops 2 hrs. Came in to drop off my car, price was almost double and the time told to me was 3-4 hrs. It has now been 6 hrs they have had my car to replace 1 single tire and still are not done. I was already 1hr into my drive down to Sea Isle City, when I was distressed to find I had a flat tire and no spare available. Knowing that I had previously used Mavis Tire and had wonderful experiences, I called the nearest location and was relieved to find they were open and happy to assist me! Tariq was working the desk and no only helped me get a great deal, but also was so kind and sympathetic for my situation. He really put me at ease and assured me he would get me back out on the road in no time! Both Mike and Bryce were working in the shop that day, and I can't thank them enough for their professionalism and proficiency! Originally, I thought Mavis was great. Has to get new tires, they were professional and reasonable, then a battery, same treatment. Recently, my car started acting up so I took it there. We were told it was going to cost $3000+ so we decided to have it towed up to PA to our old mechanic. We figured the car was dine and he could scrap it. Then we got a call that the car was fixed and was $2700 less than what we were quoted at Mavis. My car did not need head gaskets, brakes, calibers, etc as we were told. I'm not sure if the mechanics or service managers make a commission off of what they sell you, but please, always get a second opinion. read more

Purchased a Mavis gift card for a friend. She made am appointment for 9am at the Marmora NJ location. The manager was agitated and rude to her. They did not begin working on the vehicle until after 2 PM. When the service was done the manager refused to accept the gift card. I contacted customer service. They told me a regional manager would call me back and that never happened. Now I have to contact my credit card company to get the gift card money back. Total failure from the local branch and all the way to top. On top of that my friend had to pay out of pocket for the service. Something she could not afford in the first place (hence the gift card). read more

I was stranded on the side of the road sweating in a wife beater and then along came a handsome young stud with golden blonde hair walking on three legs. He asked what was wrong as I was bent over plumber crack out trying to fix my flat. He grabbed the tire iron like the lug muffin he was and easily broke my wheel lose that I had just macked on a curb drinking my 12 dollar caramel Iced Nutella drizzled latte from Starbucks with a metal straw to save the environment. Absolute trash of a business. Car sat for 6 hours and was second in line to be done and as we finally pull in to get an accurate just to see the employee finally starting to work on the car. Meanwhile, two other cars are up on lifts with tires removed and new ones beside the vehicle- why our vehicle was forced to wait 6 hrs for tires they worked on the ones behind us first.. place makes no sense and certainly loves wasting others times. read more

I had MAVIS in Marmora replace 4 tires in 2021 and some other services that totaled over $2,000. The tires only lasted 33,000 miles. A day after I left I received a call from Mavis saying that forgot to get my tire lock while I was there. They should have put it back in my car where they found it. I have been back 2 times over the past couple of years to have prior repairs addressed and to ask them what they would do about the tire wear with a scheduled appointment and both times waited over an hour before anyone even looked at my car. The last time after waiting I asked for my keys back and WON'T EVER RETURN. They have no respect for people's time. I also talk to others who have had bad experiences there. One said they gave them an estimate and then took their car to someone else who said the service that MAVIS recommended was not needed. There are many good trustworthy local mechanics out there that would appreciate your business. read more

I called yesterday at 9am as the night before I got a flat tire and had to replace it with my spare. I explained I have an oversized/over weigh vehicle and told them the specific tire I would need to make sure they had it in stock. I was told everyone called out that day and that they wouldn't be able to get to me but I could drop off my vehicle or bring it in the following day. I chose to make an appointment for the following day at 1pm. I arrive and am told my vehicle is too tall and heavy when I explained that I spoke with someone on the phone they said "oh will at the call center doesn't know what he's talking about, you should have came in". What's the point of having a phone number if customers can't call it and get accurate and real help. How is this at all my fault for not driving on my spare directly to your shop? I got a flat tire and was told it could be plugged. So I took it to Mavis because I heard good things about that shop. They were really nice but they never correctly plugged my tire so with out me knowing I was driving with a slow leak. Then I took my tire some where else and they said the person that plugged it didn't do it correctly and the tire is basically destroyed. So I waisted money to plug my tire and now have to buy 2 tires. read more

I made an appointment three days in advance for a simple oil change. I was very clear that I would have to wait for my car. I asked how long it would take because I had to work that day. No problem 10am appointment, I can wait and it will be done in about an hour. I arrived (with mask), the man at the counter watched me drive up (alone) and get out of my car. He asked if I was dropping off, I told him no I was waiting. He told me I could not wait because they had no idea when they would get to my car and how long it would take. I asked if I could at least buy a quart of oil until I could bring it back. Nope, couldn't do that. They had my phone number and they could have called to give me a heads up. They rescheduled for later , i call day in advance to check on status they told me tires not available , reselected , finally dropped off the car , at end of the day its not done , tires didnt arrive , And if i would not stop by nobody would call to let me know about that problem .
