Halfway between Ogden, UT. and Pocatello, ID. this large C-Store has everything you would possibly need for people traveling between Idaho and Utah or vice-versa. Fair gas prices at the same or sometimes less that the other store across the street. Great bathrooms that are kept clean for the most part, hot food options, a fairly large selection of liquor and wine and a large beer fridge with tons of options, and your other normal C-Store offerings. But a main reason that everyone comes down to this store is for lottery tickets and scratchers. You can get Powerball and other Idaho lottery tickets here as well as scratch-off tickets from $1 to $20 each to test your luck and possibly win big. Being that it is just past the border, I usually see more Utah license plates that Idaho plates, down to buy lotto tickets! Stop by KJ's if you are ever in the area and check it out. Great place!!

With the lotto being up to 900Mil, we didn't mind waiting 2 hours since the other gas stations had lines wrapped around the outside of the building. While inside we got to see just about everything. This place seems small, but it is very well stocked full of a huge variety of snacks and drinks. They even had some candy that I hadn't seen since I was a kid. They had a couple of booths for what im guessing scratching scratch tickets and such. The building is joined to a Mexican restaurant, but we didn't try it.

He said their hand-scooped fresh fruit shakes are incredible. Maybe. As we exited Bear Lake the Chevron station is truly the LAST business on the left (or the first if you're just coming into town). Shake (pun intended) your franchise/national chain notions and ideas of shakes. NO soft-serve here. Hand-scooped ice cream, vanilla of course, with the flavor of your choice added. Fruits are fresh local grow, malt (!) is available on request. One size only, sir. We ordered a chocolate malt (I could not resist the memories of my youth in the '50s when every shake was hand-scooped), a raspberry shake, and a strawberry shake. Thank goodness we also bought a couple bottles of water. These ice cold creamy milk/egg/sugar/vanilla/flavors-added concoctions were to die for. Certainly the best I have enjoyed since Farrell's Old Fashioned crashed following a short revival. If you are in Bear Lake, DO visit the "Shake Place inside the Chevron Station". Very clean, including the very heavily used restrooms. Staff constantly keeping everything stocked and registers manned. That staff is great too, welcoming and helpful. Since it is so small I felt I needed to ask if it was ok to park overnight . A lovely member of the team walked me outside and showed me a space my van would fit and I'd feel comfortable. It was a hot day and I was feeling especially sticky after visiting and walking the spiral jetty. So I inquired about showers and went into sticker shock at the cost. I headed out to get my van parked for the night. Sipping a cold drink I reevaluated spending $17. Collecting my shower kit I headed back inside for my first ever truck stop shower. Totally worth the price! And I realized I was getting a very good value. Spotlessly clean room. Plenty of hooks and little shelves for my products. I thought I'd get a towel but did not expect a bathmat and washcloth as well! A lifetime of campground showers at a quarter a minute and cleaned once a day did not prepare me for the comfort of a truck stop shower! The truck stop is as clean as possible with so much use but the shower was spotless. Thank you to all the staff at this flying J and to the owner who obviously is a caring manager of his staff.
