The bathrooms were very clean and most places I had stopped along the way were filthy. They have a lovely area dedicated to Veterans and they make fresh grab and go food there. There is also an Espresso Bar with a huge variety of syrups. They even had a bag of candy that was vegan so I got my snack too. Definitely recommended if you need to stop somewhere on your journey.

You can buy gas here too. This is not the last place to buy gas for a long way, but it's my preferred place to buy it. It's the town store in a town owned by US Gypsum. Maybe the big paper mache Shrek, Donkey, and Cat in the Hat are made of gypsum...Who knows? They are pretty raggedy. I don't think that the Shrek even stands up anymore. That's what you get for trying to make a cartoon character come to life. Who would believe that something with a head that big would be able to walk anywhere but cartoon land? At any rate, this is the last store you're going to see driving North for a long way. It's the last store you're going to see anywhere near the Blackrock Playa. Everyone I've ever encountered there has been friendly and helpful. They even have a little corner dedicated to taxidermy.

My total came to $13.31 (2 monster drinks and 2 bags of corn nuts, and a cup of ice) I didn't even get gas. There was no one in the store besides the employee, there wasn't even anyone getting gas as the gas area was taped off and the ground was getting some kind of pressure cleaning. Now I'm home and happened to take a look - and an additional charge of $175 has posted to my account from this same station. The employees are scamming people. Beware!

Two toilets were completely plugged, one stall had no toilet paper, there was no paper towels, and every garbage can was overflowing with trash--inside and outside. Garbage littered the ground. It was genuinely gross. What's worse is this station is brand new--but you'd never know it. It looked and felt completely neglected. We've always counted on Maverik as a reliable stop for gas, food, and a clean bathroom break during road trips, but this experience was terrible. From now on, we'll be going to the gas station across the street. At least they know how to maintain a basic level of cleanliness. Really disappointing.

The three of us were all very hungry but were stuffed after finishing our medium 8" sandwiches. If you ever catch yourself driving through Lovelock and hear your stomach growling pull into the Golden Gate service station and order up a sandwich at Port of Subs.

Over 4hrs of being inside bathrooms never got touch and were filthy eating are got cleaned around the 4th hour but was dirty when I 1st arrived, so not sure how long it was that way but at least it finally got cleaned unlike the bathroom. The manager with the unprofessional hair clip, go home. I understand that it happens but to wear that, be at work with your attitude, just stay home the customers and staff don't need to deal with the attitude. If you don't want to, don't wear it. It's unprofessional and deters everyone and you're supposed to be the support the customers and staff need, but based on the state of the store it's understandable why it was the way it was. My only compliment and the reason for the 3 star, would have been a 1 instead, was the 3 employees at Arby's and Godfathers, I didn't get any of their name. First the 2 young gentleman at Arby's were great to watch. They kept busy and had amazing teamwork helping where needed. Secondly the young lady at Godfathers. I think was here at the start of her shift and my word I don't think she even had time to breathe. It seemed that the person before her left everything for her. Her customer service was amazing throughout it all, smile on her face and respectful. Literally if she wasn't cooking she was cleaning. We just came back 2 weeks later and it is still broken. Half of the employees didn't even know what we were talking about and the one who did gave me the impression that, yes they know it's broken, and no they have no intention of fixing it. I'm pretty sure that could be a health code violation with no safe way to rinse all of the remnants of human waste into the drain. Also they never have any block ice, lucky if you can ever even snag a bag of cubed. Their Yerba Madre selection was on point though. One star.
