I have also attended dance competitions and show offs for my daughter's middle school and high school years for drill team. My HS Freshman is on XC at Wylie East and they have had meets at this campus. He's also attended a baseball event here. Their baseball field is nice. Both of my children's Art work has been displayed at this campus from Middle School years, leading up to High School. Traffic in this area of the school campus and surrounding areas can be frustrating at times getting in and out. Crossing guard/crosswalk area can get chaotic with students going back and forth in the morning and afternoon, while everyone is commuting to work. Lots of students head over to the nearby shopping center that also has fast food places to eat at, so this can cause huge delays, which causes backed up traffic. Our HOCO parade is mapped out at this campus/stadium. Nice stadium for Friday night lights!

Particular staff members were abusive to my child, utilizing threats and a cease and desist to try to keep him from speaking about being horribly bullied. They deny him access to public games and events at the school. They pulled him from class constantly and then counted him absent, trying to serve me with truancy papers while he was on campus. They failed my child and caused a decline in his mental health. Indoctrination at its finest. There is recorded and written evidence proving abuse of power in this establishment. More to come...

We are extremely please with our daughters academic, emotional and spiritual growth this past…read moreschool year at Heritage Christian Academy. The staff and teachers have a genuine love for children, they have very intentional learning goals and make it clear that spiritual growth is a top priority as they incorporate Christ and God into the curriculum each day. Our daughters teacher was phenomenal at meeting her academic needs and with regular communication we worked very closely to make sure the learning continued at home. She loves school, loves showing off what she has learned and she gets excited to see the staff members that greet her each day. HCA is a blessing to our whole family. We highly recommend this private Christian school.

This was a wonderful experience for me, and I hope I have the chance to come back for another author visit.

Dallas Christian School presents itself as a beacon of faith-based education, but beneath the…read moresurface is a culture built on exclusion, favoritism, and quiet discrimination. Unless your family has the resources to donate large sums of money, the "right" race, or gain favor through employment at the school, you are just a number--tolerated, but never truly included. The school's values are less about Christ and more about class and elitism. A tight-knit inner circle of donors, board members, and influential families call the shots. Everyone else is kept in their place. Diversity at Dallas Christian is performative at best. Minority students are rarely visible outside of athletic teams, and there is a pattern of recruitment that raises serious ethical questions. These students are valued for what they can do on the field or court--not who they are. And yes, there have been documented and disturbing instances where students of color have been called racial slurs, including the N-word, by both peers and staff. Consequences for these actions have been minimal, and accountability is nonexistent. The emotional toll is real. Kids who start off confident and engaged quickly become withdrawn, questioning their worth in an environment that measures value by status. The self-esteem damage lingers long after. Many of the glowing reviews online are not from impartial voices--they are parents on the board, major donors, or paid reviewers. Don't be misled by the marketing or manufactured praise. The reality inside is far different. Meanwhile, families who experience harm are pushed out quietly, without support, and without acknowledgment. Even staff members who happen to be minorities are part of the same exclusionary system--and they know it. There is no safe space here, only a well-oiled machine that rewards compliance and marginalizes difference. If your family doesn't "fit" their mold--racially, politically, or socially--you will be pushed out, one way or another. The environment is not just biased, it is hostile. And they'll use your tuition to do it. With the rise of school vouchers, this kind of systemic discrimination is only going to get easier to hide. If you are a minority family, a values-driven family, or seeking real faith-based education--run. Don't be fooled by the brochures. The truth is much uglier.

Bending Oaks help save my son. He is an amazing, intelligent kid who was miserable as a sophomore at Southlake Carroll High School. After years of believing Carroll was the best we realized a change had to be made. As Jane T. and Carrie C. suggest, we interviewed, visited and "test drove" the school and my son made the most difficult decision to leave his friends and commute 60 miles each day to Bending Oaks. He has not regretted the decision and nor have we. My Son feels Bending Oaks, help change his life. I agree Bending Oaks is not for everyone and as we found out, neither is Southlake Carroll. With any private school a parent and student should find the best match. I like to describe Bending Oaks as a Dot Com and other traditional schools as big corporations. There is a mutual respect between the "management" and "individual contributors" and all are invested in the success of the school. The proof of Bending Oaks' is in my son. He was a child full of life who completely lost his spark and regained it at Bending Oaks. As a sophomore at Carroll we were afraid he wouldn't graduate. He is a senior now with a great ACT score and has 100% college acceptances one is San Diego State University. SDSU is the most desired and impacted California State University with an acceptance rate of 36%. We are so very proud of our son and so very thankful to Bending Oaks. I find the reviews by Jane T. and Carrie C. not only insulting to the teachers and staff of Bending Oaks but also to the parents and students who trust Bending Oaks every day. This is a biased but legitimate review by a parent.

They layout of the campus is beautiful. It is a 96 acre 5 building facility that looks much more like a junior college than a high school. Today, there are some others with similar designs, but mostly it is still cutting edge for high school layouts. Most recently I was here for a fund raiser holiday bazaar they hold every year. I do feel some situations with teachers in different grade levels can improve as well as overall disciplinary action for students. The main parking lot at the front entrance of the school gets pretty packed during lunch time to where you have to park alongside the curb in the fire lane.
