Well while I have usually been a return customer practically because I am a sucker for clearance items, my visits are become less and less frequent more so then last year. Reason for this? Let me explain... If you were to look in my wardrobe, you would see jackets, shirts, jeans, and shorts that are more then likely from Old Navy. These may look nice at first glance but as time went on after I purchased most of these items, the fabric began to tear and a lot of jeans began to completely fall apart. I would also like to point out I didn't buy these jeans on clearance, they were normal priced, which ran around a hefty price of thirty dollars. Needless to say, I wasn't overly satisfied when my sleek skinny's completely gave out at the knees. I have had similar issues with shirts where the fabric was coming off in small strands that if you started to pull on them, you couldn't stop. Nevertheless, I have ceased purchasing anything from this particular Old Navy for about a year or two now. I can say though that through all the times I have been through here, I have never had a problem with the employees who worked at the register and on the floor. My inquiries about certain items were meant with a positive reception, no huffs or puffs about me "wasting their time" unlike some other "higher-end" department stores. Seeing how I still see most of these employees still working here, it makes the reason to shop here again more welcoming. I'll be a bit more cautious if I decide to initiate shopping here once again. I recommend giving the clothes you are going to buy a good once-over after trying them on to check for any damage or imperfections, it'll save you more money then you think.

I have visited a couple of Athleta stores over the past few weeks. Tonight's visit was impromptu while I was trying to get some exercise by walking around in the mall. I noticed that they had a sale sign out, I'm always in to see what is on clearance or reduced rack. Just as the staff at my local store has proven to be, the staff was friendly and informative. I was able to try some pants on and get suggestions, and I even asked which color looked best and got a solid answer. The store associate that was their knew about all of the new items and also was willing to pull stuff from the back that was on clearance or close out to show me. I will continue to shop at this chain. I am extremely impressed.

I only gave this 4 stars instead of 5 because it is on the more expensive side. I think some of the clothes are a bit overpriced but again the quality is above average, so... It's not a neighborhood that I normally frequent, but Hickey Freeman keeps bringing me back. You can find some good deals on sports coats and suits if you're lucky. I wasn't familiar with the Hickey Freeman brand, before I moved to Rochester. They were big in the 50s & 60s, but they seem to have fallen under the radar in the past few decades after multiple changes in ownership. They have an overall good reputation in the fashion community, with positive feedback in terms of construction quality. I have 3 suits and I'm happy with all 3. They needed very slight tailoring (mostly simple hemming), which added slightly to the cost. But all 3 wool suits are fully canvassed, wool and cost $3-400 each (retail for $1000+). I think if you're lucky, you can find suits for $299. I think they are much higher quality than a similarly priced J Crew Ludlow suit.

I've gotten suits here for under $100 after all markdowns. Hickey suits are stylish but can also be conservative. They are very high quality and are perfect for business. I own seven or eight of their suits a handful are standard staple types and others are a bit more daring colorwise. I do lament the fact that they discontinued the warehouse sales in Rochester where the selection was even better than the factory store. Rochester folks had it very good and were able to score serious bargains.
