I have so many great things to say about the women who supported me in my journey at Maui Healing Retreat! I was at a crossroads in my life after a series of difficult events and was looking to recharge, reflect and heal to be ready for the next chapter of life. I had no idea until I felt called to go to Maui that the island in itself, is basically a healing vortex. Pair that with this talented group of healers and there is no way you won't leave feeling refreshed. I am simply a new person post-retreat! When I spoke to Kalyani - she helped me build out a custom experience that aligned with what I needed most. When I arrived in Maui, the team worked closely together to support and guide me for the duration of my retreat. Every single practitioner is incredibly, kind, genuine and down to earth and incredibly gifted. I could not have asked for a better experience! Below are the sessions that were incorporated into my 4 day retreat and my high level overview on each session. Grounding Ritual (Kalyani & Kecia): This was a wonderful welcome session held at a sacred site. It really helped center and ground me arriving to Mother Maui and setting intentions with her before the retreat! Kitchari cleanse / consult (Danielle): I did a 3-day Kitchari cleanse, which Danielle prepared for me and coached me on. I would highly recommend this cleanse - I felt amazing and it was a good kickstart into healthier eating habits post-retreat. Gemcomb Healing / Brave True You Chakra reading (Danielle): OK this was one of my favorite sessions. Danielle is incredibly gifted in intuitive body reading and healing. I learned SO much about my inner self and body based on this session. Shamanic Clearing, Balancing, Illumination (Kalyani): This session brought some powerful clarity to some emotions I was burying. There was a lot about this that is too personal and long to share, but it was a truly transformative session that helped me release and let go of energies that were no longer serving me. Soul Spirit Adventure (Natalie): My inner child loved this experience with Natalie - a barefoot forest walk! It was beautiful and fun and reminded me that I need to make more time to have fun in nature. Health Coaching (Natalie): This was a pragmatic strategy session regarding my health habits. I gained tons of valuable tips from Natalie that have been incorporated into my routine post-retreat. Waterfall Hike (Kecia): This experience was simply magical. A definite must do! Kecia is incredibly intuitive and knows a ton about Hawaiian culture- I learned so much from her and the experience was incredibly healing. Unwind the Soul (Eva): This was a unique reading that was incredibly personal and emotional. I walked away with a profound new outlook on how to interact with myself and now have a deeper inner child practice due to what came out of this session. I recently spent 4 days with the team at Maui Healing Retreat and I can honestly say what happened to me there was a miracle. I recently had gone through a break-up with a man who i have been married to for 25 years after finding out 2 years ago that he had been lying about his sobriety and had been having an affair ...I spent almost the past 2 years of my life ONLY trying to save my marriage and the life and the family we had together....I am a strong independent smart woman and but I lost all of that in one day back in August of 2016...I became obsessive and as a result isolated and afraid....he moved out 6 months ago and I couldn't move on or let go of him or "the life" we had and I realized on Mother's Day this year that i needed help - more than the 2 years of marriage and individual therapy and the hand full of anti-depression, anti anxiety, sleeping, and high blood pressure pills I had acquired over the past 24 months! I had a family trip with my daughter and her family to go to Maui June 1st and when I couldn't find what I thought I needed locally I turned to yelp to see if there was someone or someplace in Maui that might be able to help me...the first place that came up in my search was Maui Healing Retreat - I did about 10 minutes of looking at their website and sent an inquiry and booked my stay that same day....i now know that my spiritual guides (and Grandma) were gently guiding me to where they knew I needed to be - and they were right! Janet and the team created an itinerary of sessions for me that specifically targeted the healing that they knew would change my life. I did a cleanse, Lomi Lomi Massage, yoga, acupuncture, meditation, tapping, card and birth chart readings, hypnosis, and Inhad 2 sessions with Donza who dug into me, my past, and subconscious beliefs and then helped me identify falsehoods about my situation and then she went to work to help me accept and release so much of what was hurting me ...truly a purge and cleanse like I can't even describe - whatever it was it changed everything for me. I felt more loved, supported, and safer than I had maybe in my whole life - and now thanks to MHR I also can say that all the anger, hurt, bitterness, sadness, mourning, self-doubt, self-loathing, depression, anxiety, negative self talk, and every other awful thing I had been holding onto (including a man I should have never been with) with a death grip - was gone!! It was and is still today 3 weeks after coming home - just gone like a miracle! And when I do have any anxiety related to my ex or any other random things that come up - I have the tools to calm myself and quickly move through it and get on with my day and my life! Deep, intense, constructive, and profoundly transformative--those are the words I'd use to describe my brief experience at the Maui Healing Retreat in Makawao. My girlfriend and I had signed up for a 1.5-hour "couples therapy" session at this unique center after reading some positive reviews on Yelp. We figured it might be a fun afternoon activity during our 3-day Maui vacation (to break the monotony of long walks on the beach and water sports, of course). Admittedly, however, we approached our session with healthy skepticism about how much "healing" could be accomplished in such a brief visit--especially after we heard there may be some astrological readings involved. Our practitioner was Donza, who had a fervent, spirited, and impassioned personality. She spent the first half hour or so talking--very, very quickly--about her upbringing, her background, and some of the "principles" of communication and human emotion. If at first I questioned how all this "foundational work" would translate into actionable tools and tactics, however, Donza earned back instant credibility after nailing our astrological (birth date) readings: She could not have been more spot on when she described our temperaments and learning/communication styles and the corresponding issues between me and my partner; it was as though she had known us for years! Over the next hour-and-a-half, Donza had us do simple exercises (including the recitation of certain mantras) to improve our communication skills. And, much like a Tony Robbins, she was direct and resolute in calling out our flaws, fears, and insecurities. It was exactly what we both needed, and, to my surprise, extraordinarily effective. By the end of the emotionally charged session, my girlfriend and I both felt deeply transformed--and even more committed to working out some of the lingering issues our practitioner, who was superlatively gifted and experienced, had adeptly surfaced. Transformative is an understatement when it comes to describing my time at Maui Healing Retreat. The team of practitioners are beyond EXCEPTIONAL. They went above and beyond to accommodate whatever I needed throughout my journey there in Maui. Janet, the founder of Maui Healing retreat is not only an exceptional business woman with a gift for customer service, but a truly awe-inspiring human in general. From my one-on-one beachside sessions to the type of coffee I had in my room, she personalized my stay down to the last detail. Such a beautiful healing retreat center! I would give this 10 stars if I could! My favorite part about the whole experience was working with Janet. She helped me to become more clear in my personal legend and becoming more clear in who I am, what my strengths and weaknesses are, and offering healing to past wounds to make room for new growth and opportunity in my life! I also loved doing the kitchari cleanse. It reminded me that our bodies need the upmost care in nourishment in order to perform optimally. The cleanse tasted incredible so I definitely recommend that. The food is delivered right to your door so you have the convenience of pre made, home made cooked food that tastes delicious! I got to learn qi gong as well which was incredible! It was so special to learn such an ancient practice while creating good energy in my body. Definitely something you don't want to miss out on! For my mother's birthday, we decided to usher an important year in with an awakening retreat. This was one of the most life-changing weekends of our lives. The clarity and direction we received that day was like a decade worth of therapy, friendship, and spirituality. Donza was my first experience, and she was the perfect person to usher in this pivotal moment. She is truly gifted. I was impressed by how much she was able to tap into in such a short time. Where to begin? I was feeling disengaged from my body and my life, frankly, and looking for a place where I could gain some insight and refocus while also being in a beautiful environment. I visited Maui some years ago and it 'spoke' to me, so I thought that might be a good place to start. While on Maui for business, I cam across the Maui Healing Retreat and decided to book a half day retreat. It was the single best thing that I have done for myself in a long time. I laughed and cried it was a very intense day. Janet did my intuitive reading and it was so informative and she was right about everything she said. I have luckily enough been able to visit Maui Healing twice..... every time I go to Maui, it is now top of my list to do while on vacation! Highly recommend to anyone.
