There's so much so see and of course, the exhibitions are superb. The building is beautiful too and set in attractive grounds, only a short walk from the town centre. A rather small but very pleasant little library inside the beautiful Dick Institute with a good…read morerange of books for the space allowed and friendly, helpful staff. Everything is neat and tidy and the cases of books have large signs above stating 'fiction', 'non-fiction' etc. It would be helpful if sub-categories could be added sometime, ie 'biographies', 'local interest' and so on, as it would save a lot of browsing time for new library members. Adult members can borrow up to 8 books, 4 DVDs, 2 videos, 6 talking books and 4 magazines. The magazines are on a wide range of subjects as well, both current magazines and back issues. Membership is free and it's very easy to join provided you have some identification with you. There are old library books for sale and there are a few chairs and tables dotted about, plus at least one (free) computer point. Across the hallway there is a very good music library. There are audio books available in tape, CD and MP3 format. A charge is normally made for these but concessions are available. There's an additional reference library but I haven't used that myself yet. Easy to walk to from the town centre and will take about 10 minutes via The Burns Mall and past The Palace Theatre.

Now located in High Street the library is ideally placed to be utilised to a greater degree than it…read moreused to when incorporated inside the council building.The library is busier as a result of this move and offer the facility for audio books as well as your traditional means.Internet acces is also available so if you need a means of studying online you can utlilise the computers inside.Carparking is readily available as the library is located next to two car parks so getting there is not an issue.The front of the building looks onto the main bus route so no problems there either.

Giffnock library is a fantastic little local library, it isn't huge but it still has a good…read moreselection of books, computers, scanners and various other library resources. My local library is Clarkston library but often if they don't have something then Giffnock will have so I take a little trip down to collect my book. It's really handy as Clarkston library is right next to Clarkston train station, so I can hop onto the train and get off at the next stop three minutes along the road which is Giffnock. Even more handy is the fact that Giffnock library is right next to the station too, so minimal walking effort required, fabulous! I don't use this library so much now but I used to all the time when I was younger as I was a total book worm. I still am a book worm but tend to use Amazon most of the time when I need a book. The staff are always super helpful and can give you great recommendations if like me, you struggle to pick a good book and after reading a couple of pages give up as you're bored stiff.

I was waiting for the train,…read moreand I needed to use a toilet, I was almost in tears needing to go, as I missed train and had to wait for another. They kindly directed me to their toilets to use. I never seen much of the library as I was there for one thing. But it looked a very clean looking place inside of what I seen.
