For a Wednesday afternoon, the place was hopping. We decided to eat on the bar side where there was a fan moving fast to cool us down. It was quiet but filled up right after we got there. It was ripping hot and my wife and I appreciated the fan but a table of golden agers asked them to turn the fan down, which they did. I was impressed with their responsiveness to the customers. The food overall was really good. I had the G & G burger that was awesome - burger was perfect, fries were crispy, homemade gravy.... nothing to smack talk about. My wife had the beet and chicken salad, which was good but the chicken was a little dry. Aside from that, the place was clean, the bathrooms were spotless, and overall great lunch. We would definitely go back.

Maybe don't cut your cooks before the rush is over next time, you've lost a customer with this behavior. I can't in good conscience recommend this place to others, I must warn people to stay away, this place cheaps out on labor and it shows in the food times. Our server Rowan was lovely.

We ended up visiting 2 more times for dinner and once for breakfast - every item we sampled was a hit ..and we tried a variety of items (see photos). We also really liked the vibe - dark wood & cool lighting! This is a definitely a top-notch pub/grill - highly recommended!

I was on my way back home after visiting with family, and a family friend suggested we eat here. I…read moreknew nothing about the place other than that they liked it. Consider me convinced. It's an old school family run businesses, and if I'm being extra honest, small town family run are some of my favorite businesses around, but they can also be the beneficiaries of being busy because there's less choice and they're not very good. Not the case here. You're likely to get served by the friendliest server north of the border, Marie. She was the ONLY server in a busy restaurant, I believe this was by design, as she doesn't skip a beat. Super friendly and helpful, and not the least bit bothered by the fact she's got a full house all to herself and many others in her place would be flustered. Any questions we have, she was ready to answer in a helpful manner. She gets six stars in a five star town. Awesome. I ordered the schnitzel and my god, MY GOD, it's freaking delicious!! Total home run, zero complaints about this amazing dish. Those overly crisped spots that you often get on a schnitzel because it's a bit thin and thus tricky to cook? Not here. Perfect breading. Portion the size of a license plate. Comes with what looks like bread, but is actually a flour dumpling cut like bread. It's topped with home gravy which is tasty without being too salty, often the case with gravy. Veg side has a nice sweetness to it and the tartar sauce is a awesome mix of herbs and garlic. The dish I got didn't include sauerkraut, but I sampled from my moms plate and it's also a home run. Amazing consistency and taste. I don't know if they make this in house, but I'd guess they do and if they don't, they've chosen well. The chefs here have gotten their levels down to a tee, and it's amazing. Last, but definitely not least, the prices. For two people, schnitzel and sausage dinner (comes with two sausages, rice, and a generous side of sauerkraut) it was $40. How they do this I don't know, but this is a business run out of love, not for pure profit. It's an amazing deal, and amazing food and service to make it the trifecta! If you're in the Smiths Falls area, go here. Worth the trip!
