Consistently the best restaurant in Westport. Since Covid, it seems that good service is optional. That's not the case at Tangled Garden! The friendly and efficient staff will make sure you are served a delicious meal without an abnormally long wait. The food is better than most with options for almost anyone on the menu. We really enjoy the soups, sandwiches and salads. I've also heard very good things about the pizza and look forward to trying it on a future visit. read more

Smallish casual diner with really great food and prices. I hardly ever finish a salad because they're well...salads...but I finished the one I had here it was so good. My husband had the omelette and thought it was great. There is quite a bit of variety on the menu so there's some thing for everyone and all the food I saw going by looked fabulous (especially the fish and chips). Make that a 4.5. The restaurant is a 5 if you know what to order and a 4 if you don't. Read the reviews to get an idea of what to rave over. The lasagna special is a great deal because the portions are so large, eatable leftovers are fine the next day. The most reliable place to eat in Westport, although we haven't tried all of them. Reliably good food, friendly service, prices that don't make you gasp. Haven't found a reason to eat elsewhere. Oh and pizza orders go out the door like they're free. If you're looking for romantic ambiance, this is not the place, a busy restaurant. read more

Mixed experience eating lunch here. Service was fantastic, both friendly and efficient. We had two soups: the French Onion and soup of the day, Potato Leek. Both were delicious. But the entrees were only ok: Chicken Souvlaki plate and Cannelloni. Both were fresh but tasted meh. Not sure I'd order either again. Okay, so I took a terrible picture of the pizza: but in my defence, I was really hungry, I knew how good the pizza was from last time I ordered one, and so we both dug in without thinking properly. This gem of a restaurant is in the heart of the touristy town of Westport. We get up this way once or twice a year only, but we always make sure to make the extra drive to have a meal at the Tangled Garden. This time it was for lunch, and we decided to split an order of their pierogis as well as a medium pizza. I'm a pretty big eater, and initially I didn't think this would be enough food; but it turns out it was just about perfect. The pierogis are a house specialty. A family recipe used for many years, and it shows. They're just plain delicious, with a generous amount of bacon and onions topping them off. I'm not usually much of a pierogi fan, but these I keep coming back for. Next came the pizza. Pizza is one of my favourite meals on the planet, and this one doesn't disappoint. The crust is tasty, the toppings are plentiful, and there's definitely no shortage of cheese. The one thing I'm not a fan of is that they put their toppings under the cheese, but that's a personal preference only. One thing's for sure: they're certainly not trying to hide what's under the cheese. We will definitely continue to come here any time we're in the area! read more

After a great day out on the water, I asked the Gas Station Attendant where there was a good place he'd recommend for a bite to eat! Well, he was spot on! From the moment we entered the premises, it was AWESOME ! We were greeted by a lovely young lady, named Joanne (AKA JOJO ) ... we chose to be to seated outside and her quality of service was amazing! Clearly she loves her job ! The menu offers something for everyone. I opted for the Chicken Souvlaki which was so moist, and delicious served on a tasty bed of rice pilaf and a Greek salad with a generous number of kalamata olives. Hubby had a burger, made fresh in house! Not only was the food fantastic, but the whole experience of small town Ontario was here! JOJO is like an ambassador to Westport! She loves what she does and is proud of where she works! It was a real breath of fresh air! read more

This is the best place to eat in town. They have a great variety of foods from omelettes to soups and salads to burgers to comfort food like hot turkey sandwiches and even full dinners. Their fresh cut fries are wonderful. The service is great. They have beers on tap as well as wine and liquor options. They have redone the interior to spruce the place up and they even have an outdoor patio in the back. I would highly recommend coming here. We come every time we are in town. read more

Great food at good price. Found myself in Westport one mid afternoon and was hungry. Saw this place so thought I'd give it a try. What a pleasant surprise. They have daily specials on for a good price so as I was feeling a bit down picked the daily special - hot turkey sandwich with fries. Very nice. Loads of turkey, good gravy and the fries..... OMG as good as chip wagon fries, and a large portion as well. I saw a few others were ordering the pizza so will go back and try that. read more

Visited Westport by boat and four of us went to Tangled Garden for lunch. What a great spot. We all really enjoyed the food and great service. Onion rings were nice and crispy. Our Buffalo Chicken Burger with Blue Cheese was delicious. So was the Baby Spinach Salad. Highly recommended read more

Not a bad place, just nothing special. The souvlaki sandwich, said to be one of their most popular dishes, was uninspired - slightly stale Greek pita, bland chicken, no tzatziki. Lots of cheese on pizza but again pretty flavourless. read more

My husband and I stopped in to the Tangled Garden Cafe for lunch while taking the scenic route from Kingston to Toronto. The restaurant's name invoked, for me, images of salads and sandwiches. I was in the mood for comfort food, but it was Thanksgiving Monday and we didn't have many options. I was pleasantly surprised upon seeing the menu; it is extensive and contains plenty of diner-style options. I had the hot hamburger and it was FANTASTIC! Just the comfort food I was seeking. My husband had the trout and quite enjoyed it. We will be sure to recommend this to anybody who happens to be passing through Westport, and look forward to returning ourselves. read more
