Store manager Andy avoided talking to me directly and made Steve call me. Now promised another date for the 3rd time. Customer Service is non-existent. Have reached out to Value City corporate and BBB. I should have read these reviews before even walking in the door as they are totally accurate and consistent for the lies and poor service.

I never received order…read moreconfirmation or delivery details for the kitchen dining set, although American Signature Furniture charged my credit card immediately. After multiple calls to their customer service, with conflicting information as to what happened, American Signature Furniture agreed to cancel the order for the dining set and refund my card within 5-7 business days. After two weeks I had still not received a refund and had to resolve the issue by disputing the credit card charge with Visa. As to the sectional, there was a seven week delay from order until delivery. Half of the sofa was delivered and then American Signature Furniture rescheduled delivery for the rest of the sectional at least four times over the course of two weeks. In summary, American Signature Furniture charges premium prices for long lead times on furniture that won't be delivered on time, if at all. I'd avoid this company entirely.

    This review is partly about the Newark, DE store, partly about the Norwalk, CT store, partly about…read morethe business as a whole. It's a real shame because last year I had a great experience at the Wilmington, DE store (you can see my review on their yelp page). I tried to purchase 2 chairs online, but the $25 off $500+ coupon they'd been emailing me weekly for months didn't work. Screenshot attached. They claimed I hadn't spent $500, even though my cart was at around $740. I got in an online chat, and they had a sales rep place an order for me. This rep was from the Connecticut store, though I would be picking up in Delaware. The conversation did not go super smoothly, they kept thinking I wanted to pick it up in CT. Eventually everything went through, the agent assured me there were no issues. They were supposed to call you to let you know about the items arriving. They didn't of course, so I called them... only to find out my order was flagged for fraud. They didn't bother to call me and tell me, I had to find out myself. My order was blocked (they wouldn't even send the items to Newark until the order was released). Delaware store told me to call Connecticut store. Connecticut store told me to call fraud. Fraud said the order was released after I gave them some info. I called Delaware back, they said it wasn't released. Fraud had lied. Delaware told me fraud was still open past 6 PM when I was on the phone with Delaware a few minutes before 6. I called them and they were closed. I called Delaware back, they gave me a whole bunch of "there's nothing I can do." I got in an online chat with R&F to cancel my order because I was beyond annoyed at this point. They said they couldn't, and I had to call Connecticut. Connecticut knew fraud was closed, but said they'd call me back to see if they could get in touch with someone and get it handled. They called back, no success, canceled the order and refunded my money. Absolute waste of time playing phone call carousel. I still continued to get emails and texts asking me to review the furniture I received (which I didn't receive), complete my order (even though it was completed), etc. over the next couple days. I checked my order status online and it said one of the items is out of stock until 11/13 (3 weeks after pickup was originally supposed to be -- if I had decided to play their games and go through with the order, I would have traveled up to DE and my order wouldn't even have been available for pickup). Yikes. Their systems are completely dysfunctional. I called the CT store on Sunday 10/22, and spoke to someone who assured me my order had been cancelled and promised to send a cancellation confirmation email. She lied. No email came. I got in an online chat the next day and asked them to send the cancellation confirmation email. The online agent couldn't do that. The online agent actually told me the order had been cancelled Sunday (not Friday as the person from CT had told me). They also said they would email the CT store to have them actually send the order cancellation notification. I can't say whether they did, but the CT store never sent me the cancellation notification. I did ultimately receive the refund. But it's like pulling teeth trying to get any decent communication out of anyone at this company.

    Review: Sears Service / American Freight Insurance Policy…read more Extremely disappointed with the handling of what should have been a simple washer repair covered under my American Freight protection plan. At the two-year maintenance mark, a technician identified that the door gasket was failing -- even though we'd had no issues. He said he'd order the part but couldn't install it that day. I later contacted Sears and the insurance provider to schedule the repair. At that point, neither company seemed to know what part was needed -- despite the technician's initial diagnosis. Soon after, the washer started leaking, and I called again to explain that it was clearly the bottom door gasket. A second visit was scheduled for 7/18, with a promise of a one-hour heads-up call -- especially important since their arrival window spans nine hours. I received no advance call. Instead, the technician rang the doorbell unannounced, and I told him (from my motorcycle) that I'd be right back. My 14-year-old daughter answered the door in the meantime, and the technician entered my home without my permission, proceeded with the inspection alone with my children inside (including my 5-year-old son), and took photos -- all before I returned. When I came in, I was shocked to find him casually explaining he'd inspected the machine and would be ordering the part -- again. This is the same technician who visited before and had already identified the part that needed replacement. The fact that he came unprepared, unannounced, and entered my home without consent is completely unacceptable. As a father, this was deeply uncomfortable. I had to ask him to leave my home. Since then, I've spent over three hours on the phone trying to report this situation through the proper channels. I am beyond frustrated and waiting to see if this will be handled appropriately. "To be determined," but I felt this experience deserved to be documented now. This was not the product originally having issues! I feel it was ripped off possibly at this point. No proof but seems odd. Likes to ride and not work on things imo.
