She ended up buying a Saatva mattress that was a comfort return. Ken educated her on the process of what happens when Saatva gets a returned mattress. (We have a Saatva mattress that we ordered online and can attest to the great quality.) The price they paid compared to purchasing direct from Saatva was amazing. Every manufacturer and every retailer I checked offers a trial period. Spent nearly $10k for a mattress that we are very unhappy with. Tried a split head mattress, and living with it is much different than we thought. Also it feels much firmer than the demo we tried in the store. We were happy to buy from an independent store owner, and assumed (incorrectly as it turns out) that he would stand by his product and make things right if we were not happy. We've been told no returns or exchanges, that it's "illegal" to take back bedding. At no time were we told there would be no recourse if we were not happy. Perhaps it was in the fine print nobody reads, but you would think if we spent this much money with him he would have made this clear up front. It may be illegal to resell bedding, but it's not illegal to work with your customer to make them happy. Apparently not willing to even try to meet us halfway. Very disappointing. EVERY MAJOR MANUFACTURER offers a significant trial period INCLUDING THE BRAND WE BOUGHT, but the owner will not honor the return policy of the manufacturer.
