I bought a mattress set on a President's Day sale against my better judgement, since the sales person who said he was the manager appeared to be drunk, was extremely loud and obnoxious, and had some sneaky sales tactics. But I wanted to buy something that day and I was already there, so I ignored the red flags and bought it. After completing the purchase, I was told that I had an unbelievable SIX hour window for delivery and the driver would call one hour before. Well today is my delivery day. My window was from 9-3 and I haven't heard anything as of now, which is the end of the window. I called the store at noon and again at 2:30. They have been trying to call the driver all day, but the driver is not answering his phone. So the manager actually told me that it is now up to me to contact the driver, and to file a complaint with Corporate, and he gave me both numbers. Now I've been trying to call Corporate for half an hour and they aren't answering their phone either. This is very frustrating and so unethical - I am going to ask for a full refund and hope I don't have to jump through hoops to get it.
Update: I finally got a hold of the driver at 3:30, who told me he was still in another town 30 minutes away and had 6 more deliveries before me. Our estimates were that he could be here after 7. I told him that I couldn't wait any longer as I had to be somewhere, and had already left a voicemail with Corporate asking for a refund. Then I called Corporate again and found out that the girl whom the store had referred me to (and that I had left a voicemail for earlier) wasn't working today. So I spoke with someone else, who was very friendly and apologetic which I aprreciated, but by then it was just too late. She is contacting the store to get my refund processed, and I made sure to tell her that the store was the one who said they couldn't do it and that I needed to contact Corporate myself. Geez. Hopefully they will get the refund processed quickly and will also take my feedback seriously regarding the store manager. He has no business dealing with customers, much less managing a store.
Second update: 5:30 pm, I am no longer at home and just got a call from the store manager saying the driver is ready to set up a delivery time. I explained that I was not home and had already cancelled the order, and he proceeded to literally scream in my ear that I would be charged a 20% restocking fee and that I had signed a contract in black and white. I ened up having to hang up on him because I couldn't speak while he screamed uncontrollably. He sounds like he's drunk on the job again. Now trying to call Corporate again to make sure they're not charging me the fee, and guess what? Corporate is not answering the phone. read more
