The "Michelle" model, firm, from Matthew's Mattress

My husband and I had been discussing getting a larger mattress for over a year. A queen-size just wasn't cutting it for us anymore. However, he hates shopping and a trip to check out mattresses was not on his list of "favorite things to do on a weekend". This was our biggest challenge and luckily, it was our only challenge in this whole process. I did some research and decided I wanted to go to Matthews Mattress in Elk Grove, figuring that if I had a place already in mind that was close by, the chances of him saying "ok" were greater. Then, one Saturday morning he said, "If you can find a nearby store, let's go look for a mattress today." He was surprised as I quickly grabbed my keys and my purse and said, "Great! I know a place! Let's go!" (By the way, planning ahead like this is really helpful if your significant other tends to drag their feet. Lol!) There were four reasons I wanted to go to Matthews Mattress. 1. I really liked that they were a family-owned business rather than a big chain store. 2. They were local. It was much more convenient than driving to the big furniture store in Natomas. 3. I saw on their website that they carried the exact Sterns & Foster model I wanted to try, as well as several other options. 4. I read reviews that said they weren't pushy, something that would go a long way to make this a more tolerable experience for my husband. All of those things were true, and we discovered even more reasons to like Matthews Mattress during our purchasing experience. We were greeted very kindly by Dana. She asked us a few questions about our wants and needs, and pointed us in the right direction. She showed us the S&F that interested me. It was wonderful. Then she suggested we try out a few of their store brand mattresses for comparison. Wow! I'm glad we did! My husband and I both fell in love with the "Michelle" model. It was beautiful and supportive without being too firm. It was also in our desired price range. Since we still needed to purchase the bedframe and bedding we wanted, we asked if we could return in a few days to buy the mattress. Dana said, "Of course! Here's my card. If I'm not in when you come back, this will make sure you still get it at the sale price." She really was fabulous and exceeded our expectations! Over the next few days, I bought everything we'd need in preparation for our new bundle of joy. Bedframe - check! Comforter - check! King-sized pillows - check! Sheets - check! I returned to Matthews Mattress mid-week for the final piece to the puzzle. Dana wasn't there so I was helped by Kendall. She was wonderful, too! It turns out that she's the owner's daughter and in our conversation, she gave me some more insight into the store's history. I really enjoyed getting such a personal perspective. I handed her the card I was given and she said, "Oh! Dana helped you! I'll make sure to write that on the order so she gets the commission!" That checked another box on my list of "likes". It always makes me happy to see appreciation and respect among employees at any establishment. We finished up the paperwork and Kendall arranged for our mattress to be delivered on my desired date - the day after our bedframe would arrive. Just as she said, the delivery personnel called 30 minutes before arrival and within the 2-hour window that was promised. I felt awful for them because it was an incredibly stormy day to be driving around delivering mattresses. Still, they were upbeat, friendly professional and they finished the job quickly - including the removal of our old mattress and box spring. So in addition to the four reasons for choosing Matthews Mattress that I listed above, here are a few more as to why they will continue to earn my business. 5. They are super friendly, accommodating and respectful! 6. They don't just try to sell you the most expensive mattress. They really want you to have the best mattress for your needs. 7. They have excellent prices. 8. Their delivery is free and flexible, and they'll take your old mattress away for free, too. Their delivery crew is fantastic and will get the job done with a smile - even if it's raining cats and dogs outside. Thanks to everyone at Matthews Mattress! We appreciate you and love our new king bed!

Delivery - the first delivery with our bed and chest set was fairly good. Some small paint issues when pushing the items in place which was annoying, but it's a new home and we have a free paint touch up soon so nbd. They did leave a small amount of trash outside. Glad they saw the damage on one of the chests and did the return/redelivery process for me. The second delivery was by third party and they ruined my carpet, two areas the threading came out and i didnt notice until after and they left a mess outside - not a ton, but big enough to annoy me and i obviously went to go pick it up for the next 5 minutes. Value - happy with the price for everything we got, much more affordable than other furniture places we shopped. Selection - fair amount, but not as much as some other companies, but this is how they keep their costs low. The selection was still good enough for us to buy most of our major furniture pieces from them.

We purchased a new King size ILE360 from Joeseph in June 2022. This was not good at all! Joeseph said we had to pay extra $50 for hand held mattress adjuster and that it would eventually be obsolete. Now we can only adjust mattress pressure through phone ap, which does not allow both sides of the king to change air pressure by a number setting like the hand held once did. Now 3 years into my 15 yr warranty and i call store where i am redirected to some foreign call center who will schedule sub contracted repair tech to come to my home only after they charge me $190 for tech labor first. I ask call center rep to order side wall piece for left side of bed so it can be replaced while tech is here. She tells me she cant and will only do so when repair guy says to do this. Now im pissed with this nonsense, shitty warranty support. Then the call center woman tells me, theres a 30 day clock ticking on the $190 repair ticket she just initiated. Which means, the parts for any repair must be called in immediately after diagnosing whats needed so the repair can be completed within the 30 days. This is all such TOTAL BULLSHAIT. I will never, ever buy a Sleep Number bed again, as long as i live. This sort of warranty should be illegal as its not a warranty for consumer but rather an easy way for each Sleep Number store to be liable for nothing after the sale. FCK THIS STORE AND THIS ENTIRE COMPANY, DO NOT BUY ANY SLEEP NUMBER BED. THESE ARE PRICEY BEDS WITH CRAP WARRANTY.

The manager as this location(Kurt or Kirk) is condescending and rude. He never apologized, don't buy anything from this location as the management is rude. There beds aren't cheap either, all a customer wants is a reason and some understanding on the customers end.

She had only been on the job for about six days, but she was wonderful! She was friendly and welcoming. She tried her best to help us find what we were looking for. Out of many different stores we have been to in the last few weeks all around the Sacramento area, Dahlia was the best salesperson we had encountered. Unfortunately, the glass tabletop became loose and was no longer properly secured to the metal base and this happened twice. The product quality was very poor. I called and they offered the return. I understood and accepted that the store would only offer store credit, so I returned to exchange the table. However, the customer service was extremely disappointing. The staff was unwelcoming and unhelpful throughout the process. I selected another table and was told I needed to pay an additional $200, which I was fine with. However, they also required me to pay an additional delivery fee, even though the exchange was due to a defective product. They were already coming to my home to pick up the old table, so it was unclear why the new table could not be delivered at the same time. When I came back the next day to proceed with the exchange, I was given a different price again, now being asked to pay $365 more. This inconsistency was frustrating and unprofessional. I accepted the amount because I just wanted to get it over with because I no longer wanted to deal with this business. I don't want they kept my credit. I truly hope the replacement table has no issues so I won't need to contact them again. Btw thankfully , we did not purchase a sofa here, even though we liked one in the store. Based on this experience, I do not recommend this business. I wrote this review after getting out the store because I was really mad .

Fast forward: October 10, 2023: Brianna contacted me alerting me the manufacturer sent the queen adjustable bed to her store; therefore, the delivery date would be October 14, 2023 which on the scheduled delivery date, Brianna's Employees flawlessly delivered and set up my dream, adjustable, queen bed, i.e., I'm absolutely ELATED!!!!! Moreover, Brianna gave me a mattress protector for the mattress I purchased which was too cool and frankly, AWESOME, too! Update: Today is December 12, 2023 . . . I've been sleeping well since, receiving delivery.
