In the letter advising us of our impending hearing, there were several suggested law firms to call. This was the first one we contacted and were lucky enough to be connected to Attorney Michael Mason. The lawfirm charged a flat fee and then gives a reduced rate flat fee if there's an appeal. Mr. Mason was extremely affable and explained the process clearly. He took a lot of the anxiety out of the experience, because he was soft-spoken, optimistic, and organized. I liked him too because he looked like Casey Affleck; my husband was impressed that he knew stuff about the Scottish Premier League. The professionalism of Corrigan, Bennett and Belfort was highlighted on the day of the hearing, when our well-prepared and calm Mr. Mason went up against the disorganized and nervous lawyer for the company. I also think his experience in the unemployment hearings office was a factor in our receiving the judgement so quickly. The next day--and the hearing didn't finish until 2:30pm--we got notice in the mail that the company had lost and that we got to keep the unemployment. I was actually going to give the law firm five stars anyway, but getting notice so fast after Mr. Mason had advised us that that particular judge was usually very fast just affirmed his skills. Should you ever also find yourself in the unfortunate position of needing an employment lawyer, I would definitely recommend this firm. They are (relatively) affordable, straightforward, professional, experienced and kind.

I was eminently impressed with how Todd conducted himself during this arbitration hearing. He was skilled, articulate, and knowledgeable. Additionally, Todd was thoroughly prepared for this case, and he conducted a very impressive cross examination of the opposing party's witnesses, including an expert witness. As a result of Todd's hard work and perseverance, the client was able to obtain a much higher award than was previously offered. His dedicated passion and zealous advocacy greatly impressed me i would highly recommend Todd and his firm to anyone dealing with a civil litigation matter, including any employment law matter, business matter real estate litigation matter or a matter involving a dispute with an insurance company.

When we went to the deposition he terrified both my ex, myself and the other lawyer with this furious manner and yelling that suggested to me that he might be on the spectrum. Still, I stayed with him, though I felt there was something wrong. But I did start to feel that there was a distinct chance that he was making the negotiations worse. But that was only the beginning. Weeks later, my ex presented an exceedingly good offer (I would give her about 12% of my wealth for a short marriage). But Wyckoff informed me that it was about what I would expect if I went in front of a judge. Never having gone through this process before I believed Wyckoff, especially as he used this bizarre (and as I later found out, obsolete) method of calculating divorce payments based on inheritance. Based on Wyckoff's poor advice and looking to get more time with my two daughters, I rejected my ex's fantastic offer and we went to court. But once in court, I was destroyed. The judge literally multiplied the amount I was offered to pay by three. A difference of well over a hundred thousand dollars. Wyckoff said he was shocked, but in truth he just had no idea what he was talking about. Even the judge ridiculed him for using such obsolete methods. For me it was an absolute disaster. I ended up losing not just enormous amounts of money but ended up with a far less flexible deal, all from Wyckoff's mistake. In subsequent discussions with numerous other Boston divorce lawyers etc, I found out that folks generally felt that he was a bit off (as in mentally unstable) and didn't know what he was doing. Nevertheless despite all of this he decided to continue to send me bills for destroying my life. I told him I had no intention to pay for his malpractice...of course he flipped a bit and started yelling. And I collected numerous records to show that he repeatedly attempted to deny things that he had said previously. If I had the resources I would have sued him for the damages. But I was exhausted and hurt and so I cut contact with him. Working with Wyckoff was the worst experience of my life.

I was served with divorce papers and by some miracle found Wyckoff online and decided to hire him…read moreas my lawyer. We'd had a really difficult contractor who had been verbally abusive, messy, and didn't finish our renovation in time for us to move into our house....and then abandoned the job. My wife and I had just bought our first home and decided to gut-rehab kitchen & bath, doing a bunch of the work ourselves. We were worried about getting our end done - we should've worried about the contractor who didn't pay subs (who refused to finish work), left big chunks of work until the DAY before we moved in, (on a 10 week project), was unlicensed, verbally abusive and tried to extort extra money from us. In the end, we just wanted him gone, but were worried about legal repercussions of firing him without paying him everything in the contract. Ms Goldman's website helped me learn a lot about the legal aspects I needed to consider, and she even took time to speak to me on the phone, listen to my situation, let me know I probably didn't need to hire a lawyer for the amount of money involved, and even helped come up with a carefully-worded email letting this guy know we were through with him. Ms Goldman is incredibly generous to share her time and knowledge with the general public on her blog. In our case, it made a huge difference. After feeling so out of my depth with a contractor who clearly knew the system and how to manipulate it, I felt like I had someone with real expertise on these conflicts on my side. At the end of the day, without having to pay hundreds of dollars in legal fees or go to court, we simply sent out our "goodbye" email and never heard from the guy again - hooray! Thanks, Andrea, for working with us - I will surely bring all future contracts to your office for review before embarking on something like this again!

I consider myself an extremely resourceful, natural problem solver, but I had gotten to a point where I simply didn't even know what questions to ask, and was starting to break my golden rule of never becoming emotional about a business problem. I've been meeting with George and Dominic, who are among the most engaging, pleasant people (not just attorneys) I've ever met. I come from a family of attorneys and bankers, and have built a rather narrow, framed opinion of both fields. I'm happy to say that this firm is simply the cream of the pedigree crop, that has opened my eyes on how real estate is and should be done. George and Dominic walked me through everything that I need to consider, were very clear about my options, provided suggestions, and most importantly, helped me understand the financial considerations of whatever path I choose. I highly recommend this firm for whatever real estate business you are engaged with in Boston. Simply beyond expectation.
