I have followed James' career since his days at the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University. The Lakewood and Cleveland areas have a fantastic guitar teacher available to them with James. With students, I know that James helps them set and reach goals, he gives students a foundation in sound guitar technique and general musical skills. I have been teaching private guitar for 26 years and have my Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Peabody Conservatory in classical guitar where I studied under world-renowned classical guitarist Manuel Barrueco. I have taught guitar at various institutions including Gettysburg College, Morgan State University, and the Fine Arts Association in Willoughby.

This review is based on LSAT instruction I received years ago, a few years before the COVID-19…read morepandemic. First, I can say that Jack Zajaros, aka Prof. Z (I'll refer to him as Jack since he was not a university prof. at this time, just tutoring) for the most part seemed very sincere. He was enthusiastic, had great reviews, and made me feel like he could help me improve my performance on the LSAT. He generally seems like a very nice man who has a love of learning. I signed up for the plan that guaranteed longer hours of instruction and that promised more individualized instruction. Because I worked full time, Jack said there would be no issue working with me on the weekend and generally said we could do regular Saturday/Sunday afternoon appointments. This was the plan for the first six weeks or so and was going fairly well. My only complaints about his actual instruction were that he relied on test prep books produced by the testing service instead of building practice by first teaching you part of the material and then having you work on the practice problems on your own. All of the materials were Jack's property and kept in his office, so you couldn't take anything home to work on on your own for continued practice. It could be very easy for you to forget the material you learned since you had nothing to take home with you for practice or retention. After about 7 weeks Jack had to cancel some tutoring sessions. Some sessions were canceled because his grandkids were visiting and he wanted to spend time with them. One of Jack's grandkids had an illness or some type of disorder and he would cancel the tutoring time that we scheduled on a Saturday or Sunday in order to drive to Pennsylvania to visit her. And there were multiple cancellations because either Jack was sick or feeling sick or his wife was sick or feeling sick and he didn't want whatever it was to spread. Jack would promise to make up some of these sessions with longer sessions and at times we did so. Then Jack had some health issues and even more sessions had to be canceled - he would promise to make them up with longer tutoring sessions. Most of these tutoring sessions were never made up. Oftentimes he was in the hospital. At first, Jack was very responsive. He sent pictures and provided updates (I guess this was his proof that he was actually sick, he must have figured that someone would ask questions since all of his communication was by text message and not by phone). Then he became less responsive (promises to follow up with me were essentially open-ended timeframes) and two or three weeks would pass without a follow-up on when we would be able to resume tutoring. Eventually, I had to initiate contact with him to figure out if he could continue. The last contact I actually had with Jack wasn't with him, it was with his wife, who texted me that he was back in the hospital again. She said Jack would follow up with me within a week - he never did. At this point, I found a new tutor. To be fair to Jack - I always accommodated him when he canceled so I do take some blame for how this tutoring partnership ended. I certainly did not want to force him to render services if he was physically unable to do so because of his health or force him to choose between tutoring and his family issues. I often waited to hear from him - I guess this is probably why it took me so long to finally move on from this tutoring partnership. I later found out through review of his Facebook page that he would often schedule ACT/SAT reviews on Saturday mornings with his high school students during the time that I was patiently waiting to hear from him on if he was well enough to continue our LSAT prep. It was like he forgot about me, his only LSAT student, and didn't really care to continue after nearly 8 months of constant cancellations. I don't know if WTTS is still operating, there doesn't seem to be a Facebook or website account anymore. If WTTS is still operating, I recommend that you discuss his health status and limitations if you or your child consider enrollment. If you plan on using Jack Zajaros' services for yourself or your child, ensure that you make a plan with him in advance to make up for sessions that Jack cancels. Jack's services seemed to be a mix of trying to be my friend and just going through answers in the test prep books - which was unfortunately a far cry from the individualized tutoring and performance adjustment service that was promised. Maybe Jack is more interested in tutoring high school students and tutoring for ACT/SAT rather than post-graduates who need assistance with LSAT/GRE - he did in fact mention to me that he had not tutored for the LSAT/GRE in a while (about 3 or 4 years). High school and middle school students might get more out of this than I did.
