Dr Barrows is Horrible!!! have had to have several cancers removed over the years. In the past I have had wonderful results with Mohs surgery and no scaring. I went to see Dr Barrows and saw Christy, his PA who was wonderful. She seemed to really care for her patients and took time to really check and biopsy questionable places. Dr Barrows however is awful!!! I felt like he really does not care About his patients!!! I was to have several places scheduled for Mohs surgery but instead he shaved off a spot with what looked like a razor blade did not sew it up and so it left a scar!! On the other leg I scheduled to have Mohs surgery and he came into the room, looked and it and said he was just going to burn it Off. He burned it so deeply and so long that it got infected and oozing even with antibiotics. I had it done March 25 and it is still not healed after several bouts of antibiotics. To date it has been 3 months and still not healed. It is leaving a huge scar on my leg. Beware of Dr Barrows. He could care less about his patients. Always acts to busy to listen to his patients. Love Christy his PA but i do not know how Dr Barrows stays in business!!!!! Worst experience I have ever had...and am still dealing with the wound 3 months later!!! read more

I have been a patient at this facility for a LONG time. And even though Dr. Christine Bailey is ABSOLUTELY THE BEST and I do HIGHLY RECOMMEND coming in to see her for all your dermatology needs, it's the skin care and cosmetic department attached to the doctor's side that I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH! I have been buying all mu skincare needs there also for a very long time however, I missed their latest discount on facial serums by only ONE DAY (due to work) and they refused to make an exception for their long standing client- me.... I have decided from this point on, I will be buying all my skin care products elsewhere... It is absolutely UNREASONABLE for the staff here to just flat out tell me "No" and not even ask the manager for approval. I have been told "no" for other things in this office and I have accepted those answers but this one, I felt was not fair- being that I had to work and was so busy I could not even call in! Dr. Barrows performed MOHS surgery on my nose in February 2020 to remove a basal cell carcinoma. The surgery took no more than 10 minutes, max. then he was out the door! He provided me with NO information as to what my options would be to minimize the deep crater scar on the side of my nose where the BCC was removed. Furthermore, the medical assistant who bandaged my nose following the surgery was sniffing and coughing. Within 12 hours I came down with a respiratory infection with a fever of 103 degrees. This was February 2020. I postponed all medical appointments until after I was vaxed and certainly didn't want to return to Dr. Barrows. In 2021 I saw another dermatologist in Dallas (voted the best for over 10 years in a row) who told me that Dr. Barrows should have closed the wound following the MOHS and although that procedure would have resulted in a long scar, the scar would fade within 3 months and would certainly be much less noticeable than the deep crater that I now have. In a follow-up to the above review, several weeks ago, my current dermatologist performed surgery to eliminate the scar left from the MOHS surgery that Dr. Barrows performed in February 2020. A biopsy was performed and the results were that I STILL have basal cell carcinoma. The MOHS surgery Dr. Barrows performed on my nose did not eradicate my cancer!!!!!!! This is outrageous! I saw one of his nurse practitioners because he has several office locations and spends most of his time in surgery stuff, but the nurse practitioner was very nice and talked to me so kindly. Talking about dermatology subjects can be really sensitive and upsetting because it's all about how you look, but she made me feel completely normal and like everything would be okay! The appointment didn't take a long time but she immediately got me on a regimen and on some medicine that would make a difference. I've only been doing it a few weeks, but I do feel better that at least I'm doing something about it, and they make me comfortable in talking about it. It's a little tricky to get to the office. If you are heading North on Stonebridge Dr. it is on your right hand side. If you are heading south, you have to jaunt a little further south and make a uturn to pull into the parking lot. I go in every year for a skin screener. They examined every inch of my skin including my scalp. I'm not out in the sun a whole lot and I always wear sunscreen, but somehow I still mange to get dark misshapen moles on me. So, I bring them to Christi Bailey's attention and she decides whether or not they need to be frozen off. If she doesn't think they need to be removed she will take a picture and evaluate it next year. Is she removes a mole then the moles are sent to be biopsied to see if they are cancer free. All in all it only takes 10 minutes for a visit, but wow it gives me peace of mind! read more

So I like Dr Barrows, and I have never had any issues with scheduling appointments etc, but I am writing this review for the girls working on the botox/laser etc side of things. I had an appointment scheduled with Bria at 10:30am, and once I arrived I was greeted and told to wait. Close to 11am, I went to the receptionist and asked how long it was going to be before I was seen. She responded that my appointment was at 11am. I was puzzled because I was sure it was at 10:30am. So I checked my phone, and low and behold there was a message telling me that my appointment had been canceled due to family emergency. Finding out about my canceled appointment at the appointment was frustrating, but it took it to a whole new level with this receptionist completely wasting my time by not informing me of my canceled appointment and telling me I had one at 11am. She hadn't asked my name, so there in lies the problem. Incompetence! I am not happy. This office is a 30 minute drive, I rarely have any extra time in my life to waste (wish this wasn't the case!!!) and the fact that the receptionist added 30 extra wasted minutes of my time makes me furious. And she didn't even apologize. read more

This review is for Dr. Barrow's practice overall. We were rescheduled to fit Dr. Barrow's availability and adjusted our holiday travel plans accordingly, leaving a day later, Dec. 23, to visit family for the Christmas weekend. His staff called to cancel saying that Dr. Barrows had decided to extend his own holiday travel. This affects our entire family, as well as our budget. We changed our holiday plans to accommodate his. This appointment is to remove several pre-cancerous moles that we couldn't get removed before moving to the area recently. In addition, there's a financial impact, because right now we've met our deductible (which means we only pay coinsurance). The next date they offered (Jan. 5) is in a new year, and we'll have to pay full cost of the surgery, biopsy, etc. This equals literally thousands of dollars in financial impact. Interestingly, when I called back to cancel my appointment his staff didn't ask why or care. If they had asked, I would have shared that our family can't afford to work with a practice that doesn't respect patients' time, health or money. And that another practice had gotten me based on a cancellation my new doctor had today. The new doctor's staff put me on a "wait" list and then called immediately when they had a cancellation due to the critical nature of the appointment. Given where health care is going, the doctors who are going to succeed long term are the ones who treat patients like customers. The health care companies are soon going to allow patients to review doctors online, along with the quality and cost information. I hope Dr. Barrows and his staff are able to change their practices and get ready for that day. read more

I guess they don't need any new patients at this practice? I have been calling for three days to schedule an appointment. When someone finally does answer they transfer you to a messaging system where you can leave a message, but they won't call you back. Someone even answered the phone and hung up once. Incredibly unprofessional. I have heard positive things about Dr. Barrows, but unfortunately it doesn't matter how great of a Doctor you are if your office staff is unable to book appointments. read more

I've been tolerating this office for the last six years, but after a procedure done by the doctor this summer I'll never go back. The doctor's a brusque, indifferent jerk and the customer service from the office staff has always been non-existent. It takes forever to even get someone on the phone. It's all button-pushing and voicemail boxes, and they don't respond to voicemails the same day, if ever. Half the time I'd press the option for the spa associated with the place just to get someone to answer. They're in no rush to get you back to see someone, either, and then you sit around the exam room for nearly as long as you spent in the lobby. The procedure I had over the summer was the first time I actually met Dr. Barrows; until then I'd seen a physician assistant. Here's what I *don't* expect from a doctor: A new BFF. Here's what I *do* expect: Eye contact and getting treated like something other than a slab of meat on a table. I also expect doctors who are cutting things off of me or putting things in me to explain what they're doing, preferably before they do it, but at least while they do it. I was there for the removal of a basal cell carcinoma. Barrows spent maybe two minutes in the room pawing through my hair and jerking my head around and then left. Not once did he say, for example, "Could you look up this way and hold your head like this?" I could have been a horse getting positioned by a vet. Then he breezed back out and the assistants started putting a bandage on; I didn't even know he'd done the procedure. That's something I would have liked to have been informed of. At no point did anyone say, "Okay, now we're going to do this; now you're going to feel that; now we're going to do this other thing." Not a word. The whole time I thought he was trying to find the spot he was supposed to operate on. The assistants put a bandage on my scalp, but since there's no guarantee that the doctor got it all the first time, all that gets you is ripped-out hair, because they have to take it off if he has to cut it again. What was the point of putting tape in my hair *before* the procedure was complete, again? After the procedure you're expected to sit in a 10 x 10 room with about 16 other people while you wait to see whether the first pass got the whole carcinoma. If not, they repeat the process. They tell you it'll be "about 15 minutes" for the doctor to look at what he cut out to see if he needs to take more, but I waited nearly an hour. Eventually I was shown to an exam room a second time and waited twenty more minutes for the doctor before I got ticked off and left. In the hall one of the assistants saw me and said the process can take up to four hours--but I guarantee no one told me that when I scheduled because I wouldn't have been there if they had. Ten more minutes went by and Barrows finally came back, took a little more scalp, and left. Not even a grunt from him that time. Zero personality and bedside manner. Zero. You're supposed to wait for the results the second time, too, but I was sick of the place by then. It wouldn't take four hours and maybe the doctor would have time to do more than grunt at his patients if they didn't run people through there by the busload on procedure days. If you like pressing buttons on your phone, an assembly line atmosphere, and being treated like a medical school cadaver, try this place. read more

Went in on 11-7-2017 for follow up checkup. PA Bailey performed it. Scheduled for 9:00 AM. Was called in at 8:58. No wait! PA Bailey did thorough exam and found several "barnacles". She explained that they were precancerous and froze them with liquid nitrogen. This was the first time that I had a good explanation of what was important and what was cosmetic. I had had a Mhos surgery several years ago, and had an exam a year ago by DR Barrows. In both cases the dialog centered on a skin cancer or something that needed biopsy. I feel good about the exam and the removal of growths on this visit. We all get warts and barnacles after we turn 50. This office does a good job of keeping them from being cancerous. I used the restroom in the waiting area. There is a placard with both male and female symbols. It is a one holer with no urinal and a lockable door. I guess this covers males, females, trans genders, Bis, and not sure. Added this comment because of the question after the comment section. I recommend this practice for all seniors with sun exposure. read more

I was a new patient. I received the worst customer/patient service ever. I had to follow up multiple times for several weeks just to get an appointment. Front desk was not friendly. I had several questions during my appointment. They didn't want to discuss anything without doing a biopsy. Okay. Biopsy was easy, however, the bandaid used had super strength adhesive that I tore skin and pulled hair to remove it. Removing the bandaid was more painful than the biopsy. When they called to give me my biopsy results, I had to really press to get any information regarding my biopsy and to answer the questions I still had. I am still having to jump through hoops to get my biopsy results. And then they sent me an erroneous bill one month later. Very frustrated with this office. read more

Extremely disappointed. Staff is blasé about serious patient concerns. I was told, twice, that I didn't have to worry about my squamous cell carcinoma because it was "no big deal"! Believe me, to the patient, it IS a big deal! I had to call to get results and, when they came back, I was told that an excision had to be performed. I expressed that I wanted the doctor to do it, not the PA. I was transferred to the doctor's scheduler and, when I arrived at the assigned time, the doctor did not show up. The PA came in and sold me on the idea that, again, it was "no big deal". I, finally, assented and she did the excision. She did not get it all and, after losing the ability to do a large part of my job duties, I had to plead to get an appointment for the doctor to perform the procedure at a time which was shorter than a month out! Of course, that has resulted in more time in a limited-duty capacity at work. Finally, the doctor performed the procedure at another location. After the procedure, I was sent to a "waiting room" where I was told to wait for a plastic surgeon to "close". The room was filled with other patients in the same situation and a couple of them actually removed their bandages to show others how bad their conditions were! How Kafkaesque! The plastic surgeon comes in, has minimal people skills, sutures or staples up the wound and sends me on my way. Two days later, I begin to exhibit a keloid. Trying to get in for treatment for that. I recommend that a patient, with real concerns about their condition, look elsewhere. read more

This office is amazing. Dr. Barrows and his entire staff have always taken care of me and my kids. I had skin cancer removed by him years ago and have since become a regular patient for skin checks. I also started seeing Tasha on the aesthetic side and she is awesome. I highly recommend this office to all my family and friends and they to feel the same way I do! read more
