I was with Dr Mo, but he was replaced with the new guy when he retired. I had a super small cavity, and he did a filling. There was problems with it from the jump. Also I had this roving nerve pain moving from top to bottom. I came to check up on that, he didn't even know what that is, and wanted me to meet with a root canal specialist for a tooth in another part of my mouth. Then they come in and pull out a piece of paper saying it would cost close to 6k to have that work done! Fast forward, found a different dentist that mentioned the roving nerve pain, and most likely was from the tooth Matt did the filling in. He kept an eye on it, and sure enough that tooth got infected, and I had to do a root canal! It was substantially less that his Bugatti level luxury brand root canal specialist that he recommends to people. read more

In 2021 I had X-rays and 4 top front teeth capped. He did the temporary caps the same day and charged a very fair price. Dr Matt used his magic to turn my broken very crooked teeth into straight pretty teeth. My smile is now great. The office was very comfortable, clean and seemed well equipped. I've had several fillings done by Dr. Matt last year, and every single one has held up beautifully. One of the things I respect most is that he doesn't rush into aggressive treatments. I had an old, worn-down filling that another dentist wanted to replace with a crown immediately. Dr. Matt took a more thoughtful approach: he explained that we could restore it conservatively first, monitor it closely, and move to a crown only if necessary. Eleven months later, and after a second opinion, the filling is still solid with zero pain or sensitivity. His technique is incredibly gentle, and he checks the bite meticulously, he actually had me bite down several times and made tiny adjustments until everything felt perfect. I've never had a dentist be that precise. I also really appreciate how honest and upfront this office is with pricing. There are no hidden fees, no surprises, no pressure. Every procedure is explained ahead of time, including cost and insurance coverage. I trust his judgement completely and appreciate that he treats teeth conservatively rather than jumping straight to the most expensive option. If you care about precision and long-term results, I can't recommend this office enough. read more

I wish I had been given a warning ahead of time before coming into my visit that Dr. Mo was no longer running this practice. I loved Dr. Mo, and I was hopeful that the practice would remain largely unchanged. Unfortunately everything feels different now, top to bottom. The thing I liked about Dr Mo is that it felt like he cared more about his patients than about money, never recommending unnecessary procedures and always erring on the side of caution and care. From the moment I came to the office under new management, I felt nickel and dimed. First I was greeted with a sign saying parking was no longer validated and I would now have to buy a token for $3. No big deal, but a portent of things to come. Once I was in the seat for my cleaning, I was told my insurance was no longer covered and I would have to switch to a PPO for continued care. Then during the cleaning I was told I would need to have an Arestin treatment for one worrying spot on my gums - a treatment Dr. Mo apparently did not even offer while he was running the office. When they came back with a quote, that one spot treatment was somehow 6 - at a whopping $120 per location. After speaking with the doctor, he talked me into getting 3 of the treatments right now and saving the "non-urgent ones" for next time. The hygienist also told me I'd need to come back for a cleaning in another 4 months instead of the normal 6 (the doctor himself said 6!) As soon as I left I looked up this incredible treatment that Dr Mo never offered and found that it's really only recommended in extreme cases and that in cases like mine it rarely proves more helpful than a regular cleaning, and is usually just recommended as a price gouging measure. At Dr Mo's I felt like they saw me as a human being. Unfortunately now I just felt like they saw me as a walking piggy bank. I wish Dr Mo all the best with his retirement, and with a heavy heart I'll be looking for a new dentist. read more

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL EXPERIENCE THAT CAUSED ME TO LOSE A TOOTH! RUN! I had gone to Dr.Mo for years and when he handed over his practice, I figured he would leave it in good hands. I WAS WRONG. I went in for a checkup and was told it was time to do a filling between my back molars. This tooth hadn't been bothering me at all but I had no reason not to trust him. My first clue to run should have been that Matt Tabanfar could not numb me! He gave me at least 5 injections and kept leaving the room for long stretches of time saying he was understaffed. Eventually he injected the roof of my mouth which numbed me enough to go on. While he was drilling I felt an insane amount of pressure, and after I left the office and the numbing started to wear away I had an unbearable amount of pain! I've had cavities filled before and never experienced anything like this! I couldn't even bring my teeth together! HE CRACKED MY TOOTH AND I ENDED UP HAVING TO HAVE IT REMOVED. It ended up being months of pain and thousands of dollars!! I eventually got a hold of Dr.Mo and told him what happened and he told me that based on my X-rays the filling should have been very routine and easy! RUN RUN RUN!!!! read more

Providing an update on my review due to some recent issues with my teeth. I had gotten over 12 cavities filled with Dr. Matt between Feb 2024 and April 2024. Unfortunately, between April and August, 3 of those fillings have fallen out. Fortunately, Fuller Smiles (the dental office he works at) arranged for me to have them repaired at no extra cost due to the fact that fillings SHOULD last 2-3 YEARS if they are amalgam. Sometimes even longer. Upon repair and inspection of my last filling to fall out, another dentist let me know that many of my fillings had substantial issues including rapid deterioration. She let me know that many of the fillings are too large and are better suited to be treated with crowns or onlays. She noted that technique is also a key factor to the integrity of fillings. For me, this just meant that with Dr. Matt, he had made the wrong choice for my teeth. That wrong choice has led to additional pain, inconvenience, stress, and a new set of upcoming dental bills. Unfortunately, I now have to experience extra dental work to fix all of the fillings that will likely fall out. To add on top of that, the extensive work that ended up being faulty completely maxxed out my insurance coverage for the year. On top of maxxing my insurance, I paid an out of pocket cost of over $1,100 for this work. Not only are my fillings falling out, but I cannot afford any more dental work. Dr. Matt was always professional and sweet, but unfortunately my experience with the dentistry was sub-par at best. read more
